Hurray it's Friday! And I have no meetings at all on my calendar. I can work all day on a presentation I have to give in a couple of weeks and perhaps do some organizing of paper.
Peg, my DH is exactly the same way, holding on to everything. In a way, I can't fault him. He has only one sister left, his mother died when he was 16 and his dad passed about 8 years later. So I guess he feels holding on to their things is somehow holding onto them. But "things" often include deeds, etc. that have no sentimental value.
My son was better yesterday and sent me a messaging apologizing for his "bad mood." I was glad to receive it.
Hugs to everyone! Be safe on your trip, Lynn, and enjoy the mountains.

Good morning friends. We had a lovely drive along Route 81, between the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Shenandoah Mountains. I picked up some literature on some stops I'd like to make next fall when we take a trip back. One place that intrigues me is a lavender farm and vineyard, both on the same property. We are in MA, just in time for a winter storm, 5 to 8 inches of snow with sleet. Ugh! Have a great day everyone. Lynn

Good morning everyone,
Maryenne, I think you are right about our DHs' keep things. My DH is now the only one still living in his immediate family but his parents lived long lives and his sister passed away only a year and a half ago at age 89. He has a couple of medium sized boxes filled with pictures but he doesn't go through them. I've simply labeled the boxes "Bill's Memories."......maybe next winter, well after we've moved, I can get him to do more sorting and figure what he actually what he has. As I've been sorting I've tried to emphasize keeping things that we have a connection/memory of. For example, I have a glass sugar bowl that was given to us as a wedding gift but we neither know who gave it to us and it is never used......so it is going to Goodwill. DH understood that and totally agreed.
Painters finished yesterday and our house looks sooooo much better. So today I will be rehanging curtains and moving some of the furniture. The carpet gets cleaned Monday morning and the house will go up for sale on Thursday afternoon. I am really getting into "staging" mode. Two last big projects remain......window washing....I really don't like doing windows and we have 15 downstairs plus 11 upstairs.......grout cleaning in the kitchen...hands and knees time. Keep your fingers crossed that I get it all done.
Esther, any dr news yet?
Lynn, happy travels for you today and over the weekend!
Joyce, I am so glad that your parents have settled into AL and are enjoying it. Enjoy the good days and I too am anxious to hear about the classes you will be taking.
Janice, enjoy a glass of wine for me tonight. I prefer white wines.
Waving to everyone, I think of you all every day!
Peg

Good morning everyone! Turns out the classes I signed up for didn't make. The person holding the sessions was doing so under a grant which requires her to have a minimum number of participants, and they fell short. I am disappointed about that. I can still do the virtual tour and there is a single session being offered at another AL near me that I am going to try and make, but had been really looking forward to this series of classes. My plan is to head out of town this afternoon to celebrate DGS's 9th birthday this weekend. How is it possible that 9 years have gone by since I got that phone call telling me, "Mom, just want to give you a heads up. I think I may already be in labor." Three weeks early, but such a joy! First time I actually got to see him he was in the NICU with wires and IVs attached everywhere, but the most beautiful sight in the world. DH is already there getting the newest rental ready, so I'll join him. Tomorrow will be two baseball games that DGS is playing. Have a lovely day!

Good morning all
We have a noreaster with snow and sleet coming today. I hope that's the last blast of winter this year. I am going downtown tonight to a concert. I hope the traveling isn't too bad. No word on the MRI results yet.
Peg good luck with your house preparations.
I have a leak from upstairs in my dining room. My upstairs neighbor is not concerned about it. I want it fixed before the ceiling comes down on my head. She has agreed to have a plumber look at it. I hope he comes soon.
I am going to get some errands done before the storm arrives.
Joyce, I am sorry your classes didn't happen.
Maryanne, I have a brother who is mentally ill and homeless. I don't know where he is this winter. It is so hard not to be able to help someone you love. I hope your DS is doing better.
Have a good weekend everyone.
