Hi, all! Faye, have fun on the treadmill! I wish I had space for something. The friend at the end of the street just got a used exercycle, but she has 3 bedrooms. Hope the trains hold up for the week/end. I guess no harp-get together today; her mom is on some sort of treatment and they are going to change it to something that might be more comfortable (don't know what she has). Barb, yeah, our rain is supposed to return this evening and last through Saturday. Maybe it will help deaden the pollen It will be fun to watch Bronze level dressage Amy, glad you had some time with Lukas. Did you ever get his mane to lie on the correct side? Beth, good luck at doctors! Hi to Libby and Dutch! So since no harp session today will go swim instead. Since it might be raining by then, I expect the pool to be quiet (along with spring break). Got 4 big bags of junk out at the curb. When the kitchen reno was done, they pulled out the water softener; it's been sitting on shelves for 2 years, finally got rid of it. New cat litter boxes in, old ones out, and just junk, stuff you don't want but don't know how to get rid of. All gone!! Sweaty work Cathy

Well the appt went pretty good although she coded me as glaucoma suspect as for now. The pressures are still high but pretty much holding steady. My retinal study was 89 for the rt eye and 83 for the left. I go back again in 3 months to get the pressures checked again. She did not give me any prescription drops to use, just continue using the OTC drops and ointment for the night time.

Hi all, Main trainer is back from FL and is "hitting the ground running" my first lesson with her is this morning. I was not expecting to switch trainers for another week or so. She said she wants to keep herself busy. If you remember she lost her fiancé of 11 years a few weeks ago. I am actually slightly nervous about my lesson which is silly because she is such a nice person. I just want to be able to show her all the progress I have made with my riding.

Hi, all! Amy, you will do really well, I'm sure of it! Enjoy the lesson, and nice that you'll have some company in the barn for a while. Did your "friend" get her horse in? Barb, have fun with all the stuff you're doing today! Beth, well...I guess if you're still on OTC then it's good. Glad she's keeping an eye on things (yeah, Faye said it first but it does work well here . Dutch, that's how it works right? You take care of the young ones, who pass it on to you, and they get better and then you have no one to take care of you Get better soon! Faye, do you have a lot of Jewish songs? I only know the 3 that were a part of previous harp teachers arrangement. Sounds like fun! Glad you had a good class! Did go swimming yesterday; another quiet day (Spring Break + rain = empty pool). Swam longer than usual since nothing going on at work. Still working on one painting from this last weekend. It seemed to have the most potential; the others weren't as interesting And still kind of rainy today. Rained quite hard last night; might try to walk the 'hood if the rain isn't too hard. Cathy

AMY-have a great lesson. hope your trainer is doing ok. maybe you can see what's going on if she mentions it. CATHY-yes, I have a bunch of Jewish tunes. I have all of Sunita's books and play a few from them and I do a Winter show with Chanuka songs so a bunch of those. Even have a pretty psalm, which i can use as background. Handel did Oratorios based on Jewish heros so I have on that's nice and is actually a song in Israel under another name with other words. Trying to add more because i do Temple Senior groups and need to change it up. I also can do things like Over the Rainbow because they were by Jewish composers. Or Exodus theme. I need to review the one from your teacher. it's pretty and I need to work on it. Glad the pool was pretty empty. BARB-have fun at the Outreach. BETH-other than water the hay do you need to do other things to prepare it for when you plant? did you build any fence around it? DUTCH-hope you feel better LIBBY-how's Palm springs? hope they can finish the kitchen soon. hope all is well. good Pilates session. Really enjoy it and stretches out my shoulders (which is nice, i practiced an hour this AM. I like to build stamina when I have background or a show coming up ) waving to all . HAGD

Good afternoon. I've been osprey nest watching today. I have 3 osprey cam sites up on my laptop that I'm watching. There's also another site I'll be watching soon. That's not including the 3 eagle sites and the hummingbird site.

HI again =another busy day = after Upreach I fed lunch to horses -did a few things at home , took the dog to the park, stopped back at the barn to de-mud Penny & put a sheet on her -they are predicting 70's & 80's MOnday & tuesday!
Faye - i'm really so impressed with all you do - yoga, pilates, you really do keep in shape! I have not been to the Y in 3 weeks between my cold & tooth -and now that the weather is starting to get better -not sure when I will get there -I forgot are you doing a first night and/or second night seder? We are going to friends & just DH & I 2nd night - I will make desserts to take on Monday & then a mini seder meal for us on tuesday. We don't switch dishes etc - just no bread/pasta for the week -
Cathy -wow that you even swim in the rain -can't wait to see your next painting!
Amy -I am sure you will do fine in the lesson -do you have a show date that you are shooting for?
Dutch- everyone at home better and back to normal from the trip? sometimes it takes a while to rebound! How is Allie doing -is she a mud girl? lol
Beth - when do you start planting?
Planning on getting the horses out this weekend and of course next week =although it may be too hot!
waving to all - hage -

Happy Saturday -everyone must be busy! that's a good thing -the mud is still running (!) I took Penny to the round pen to lunge her a bit -she got a few bucks in -will most likely ride tomorrow-Took Tundra to the dog park -which now has it's own "swimming hole" lucky for me Tundra just waded in the puddle -but several dogs were clearly having a ball -and the puddle is chest deep on a big golden!
Hope everyone is good- enjoy the day -

BETH-we plant no earlier than mother's day although if i see pansies being sold i feel compelled to buy them BARB-going to relatives first night and a neighbor the second. usually i do the 2nd night but neighbors invited them and DD went to school with their son and she's my walking buddy (when not a snow bird) and a "harp listener". so should be interesting. We do a very abbreviated reading the first night but I think the second will be more to the "haggadah" so to speak. we need to leave by 9 to take DD back to the city . if I had the money I'd do Pilates every day. it goes so fast. I felt we just got started and it was time to finish (I do 30 min of wts Tues with a trainer, 30 min of the Pilates, and 1 hr yoga tomorrow.) I'm flexible and like to stay that way. and I need strength to lift the harps. CATHY-your color sense is stunning in those watercolors (were they watercolor) they ribbon is amazing! AMY-how was the lesson? DUTCH-hope everyone is better LIBBY-hope Palm springs was good did some errands at the mall. HAGD sun is out but still a bit cool

Hi All, Friday was a good day I am down 1.2 lbs. at WI and my lesson went really well. Of course she has a plan of what we need to work on but she could definitely see my improvement. Lukas was being very good . April 22 and 23 are the planned dates for my first shows with Lukas. I am excited and nervous at the same time. I didn't want to pry but Trainer just started talking about her options going forward. I will say that her fiancés adult children are treating her badly and trying to push her around. Not really honoring their father's intentions. That being said she certainly is not playing the victim and is making plans to move forward. She has indicated that she wants to stay in the area and she wants to keep "her people" meaning us boarders. She may purchase another equestrian property and fix it to her liking or she may buy land and build to suit. The other possibility is dividing the land of the Estate in a manner that keeps the horse business on part and the lovely big home surrounded by some open acres as the other part. That way the big home could be sold, it was her fiancé's wish to have a big fancy house but not really her style. She went to look at an equestrian property today. She has always been very much a person of action so even though it won't be easy she will come out of it well. Of course this is all the business end of it. I know she misses her fiancé greatly but she does love her work and that helps a lot. HAGD Amy

Good afternoon. DH and I went to town this morning and did some errands. We also got some items I will need when I start planting after Easter. I'm going to start some seedlings of squash and pole beans in peat moss cups and when they get about 2 or so inches high the bales should be ready and then I will just insert the peat moss seedlings into the bales.
DH is out mowing the grass on the riding mower. I just cleaned up the kitchen after having an early supper.

Hi, all! Faye, I really need to try pilates. They have it at the gym but I think it's extra $$. I will look into it next week; of course it's not listed on their website! Thank you for the kind words re: my work! I sometimes feel like I struggle with color but it's getting better. Amy, glad the lesson went well. It's nice that your trainer feels she can talk to you about what she's going through. I guess this is the downside of a long-term relationship with no marriage papers behind it. If he left a will that said she can keep the horse property, that would be the best of worlds. Wow...your show is coming up fast!! Beth, there's a Peregrine Falcon webcam for the birds at the San Jose City Hall, just in case you wanted to add more bird watching to your day Barb, I did talk to my watercolor teacher about how to make cards, prints etc. I'll need to cash (large format printer, paper stock, envelopes, etc) before I can get started and that's kind of in short supply right now. Hopefully soon! Hi to Libby and Dutch! I ended up not getting out yesterday (it's become so easy to talk myself out of things). A few of us went into Santa Cruz to a Hawaiian place and had Mai Tais and pork sliders...yum! Today were errands: groceries, cat meds (her UTI is back and the antibx she's been on isn't working), then cleaning and dusting, finishing up with laundry (uh oh, here she comes, Ms Isabelle). Tomorrow going "over the hill" to have breakfast with friends. Will try to get a walk in somewhere if the traffic is bad coming back. Cathy

Good Morning Sunday -Cathy -would it be cost effective to have some printed up first (staples etc) to see how they sell? I know the going rate here for a 4x6 card is $3.
So nice to see the sun here this morning - we are heading out for a short walk in a bit to see how the trail has fared -tomorrow & tuesday upper 70's -80! almost too hot too soon!
Amy -is your barn "closed" on Sundays? I know a lot of show barns are or can you come & go as you please? Where is the show on the 22nd? what classes/division are you going to go in?
Beth -so jealous that you can plant so early - as I said we never put anything out before Memorial Day -weather is just too fluky here!
Libby -are you home?
Faye-Happy Passover- I made my gefilte fish this morning (I buy a frozen log you boil w/ carrots & onions-it has a different taste than the jarred stuff -but once you get used to it its really good) This afternoon I'll make the matzo toffee brittle & maybe a box brownie mix to take tomorrow night
Hi Dutch -hope you are all doing better now
Waving to all -HAGD

BARB-happy Passover to you too. what happened to Spring?? CATHY-enjoy Breakfast with friends. i love Pilates. once you get the hang of it you can do it on your own or with a DVD (I used to have the Windsor Pilates DVDs and did them. but take a few classes first to understand the "scoop" and Pilates position) AMY-major congrats on the WL. glad the lesson went well. Hope your trainer can find a nice place nearby and be done with stress.
waving to all. Yoga later. laundry and practicing harp.

Faye, I will try a class and see how it goes from there, thanks! Did breakfast, was nice to catch up. Hi all, Beautiful weather yesterday! Lukas lost a shoe so no riding for me. I groomed him and let him hand graze a little. My friend Jane's horse arrived at the barn yesterday and I watched her ride. We are looking forward to riding together. Lukas will get his shoe back on this morning. I might get a little ride in after work.
speaking of work I have to run.
