Good morning-
From last night:
Hi
LIBBY-good luck with closing up. that's a lot of driving. more than we did going to MD (about 3-4 hrs each way)
BARB-cows? i missed that, where are cows? Sorry about the low sale . snow? enough!
CATHY-so glad you had fun. part of playing with someone is learning to listen. they keep playing and you learn to jump in and catch up. So that's great. just what should be happening. Glad you got along well. have fun. so do you play the same songs or tunes that are actual duets with different parts?
BETH-enjoy the chairs.
DUTCH- loved the photos. son is adorable. castle must have been fabulous.
we had a spectacular time. the relatives are amazing, we all got along great. Had dinner with them Friday. we went to a Popular culture museum at inner harbor (had from 1700s to present comic books, toys etc , games) then dinner the next night (bought stuff at a Wegman's-- that was fun). Just a fabulous time
off to my 3rd laundry. HAGE everyone.

Good Morning- Faye - guess I never mentioned the cows? BM bought about 6 maybe 2 years ago -then a bull - and they had a calf last spring (one cow went to dinner ). then they bought an 2nd bull last year -and they "think" 3 are ready to calf - and one of them was born the other day -they are cute -they smell horrible (!) they took over 2 full pastures and of course ruined them -no grass to speak of left in most of them -but I figure as long as they have the cows they won't think about kicking us out? The snow is starting to melt -but of course it freezes over night then melts, etc etc - but they are talking 2"+ of rain tomorrow & thursday -so mud season will be in full bloom -hope Penny's new shoes stay on!
Finally broke down & called endodontist - have an appointment for tomorrow at 9am -but may have to cancel as DH got the results from his routine dermatology apt last week -they took a biopsy & it is melanoma so they want to do a "mose" (sp?) on it -we are waiting for them to call with a time/day. when it rains......literally!
Libby -have a safe trip home -a good chance to see some sights. Amy - did you get a ride in? ( I am figuring after this week of rain and warmer weather -next week I will start trying to get out on a regular basis -trail should be good) Beth -still coughing? LOL - did you get your order going? Cathy -did the condo stuff get resolved? Dutch -are you back to your normal schedule? Photos were cute!
Off to clean & errands - HAGD -CBL

Having coffee and planning the trip home. Don't really want to leave the 80 degree nice weather, yet I am homesick! The kitchen didn't happen as planned Everything is stripped and walls are gone, cabinets are not in, new door is not in (old door in new door spot) I won't have a stove or electricity in the kitchen! Oh well, I guess I'll cook in the camper for the time being - Fortunately we have that and a bar b que Best laid plans- the contractor had a kitchen come in a couple days before us, so they got the attention first. Then he went to Hawaii for this week, which was planned. I guess I'll just roll with the flow. DD sent me pictures with the walls gone, she said it looks amazing even with all the mess We are going to spend the night tonight at Desert Palms, which is a RV Park at Palm Springs - I've never been to Palm Springs so it should be fun. We are leaving later than planned as the awning guy will be here before 2 and then we will leave! Faye; glad you had fun w/relatives! Barb; hope you get some sunshine! Cathy; is work still slow? Beth; are you sewing again? Dutch; hope your feeling better, your son is adorable! Wave to All - Adios Casa Mesa (our new winter home)

Hi, all! Had to catch up! Faye, glad you had a good time with French relatives. Did you get to use your French? We aren't playing duets, just playing the same songs together. We have pretty much the same play list but she mentioned Harris' Dance so will see about that. Barb, sorry the tack sale didn't go well. But oh my, sorry about DH's dx and your tooth! As you say, when it rains...I hope things go well with his "mose" and it's caught early! Libby, Joshua Tree is pretty cool. I've been through there as a friend had relatives in AZ (actually she lives in AZ for years now...she liked desert...me, not so much). Have a safe trip home! I'm sure Dutch will like having someone to commiserate with re: NW weather! Bummer about the kitchen but it's pretty par for course, as they say. Amy, I hope things are going well...has the office settled down yet? Are you riding? Dutch, what wonderful pictures to share...statue sounds like a riot (isn't it funny how quickly the littles things get dumped from our brains??!?!). Watercolor workshop was fun, as always. Teacher is doing well but she was tired...just finished taking a workshop in Yosemite so she had lots of driving and poor sleeping under her belt. She's so supportive and helpful...I've never seen her get really frustrated with people, and I would be all over some of those folks if it was me. Good thing she's teaching and not me Today is busy work-wise, my usual Monday. Didn't get groceries this weekend so don't know how long I can go without shopping. Have to get cat meds at Walgreens so plan to walk a bit today. 2 days w/o exercise...sometimes I just don't know how to get it in! And then harp lesson this afternoon. Cathy

CATHY-i understood about 60% of what they said (except for my cousin's husband they all speak English so it was like the UN with translating going on back and forth) I did try about 2 sentences and did well. it actually was talking about the harp and the difference in sound between wood and carbon fiber (he had a carbon fiber bike so was curious) so I got a très bien!. I may try to get a Rosetta stone or something to brush up on it. I don't know Harris's dance. glad you are having a good time . I play the same with one friend and then duets with different parts with my other friend. have fun painting and have a good lesson tonight. hope the cat is doing ok and you get to go shopping BARB-sorry about the endodontist and hope the MOhs procedure goes well. good luck with it. always something. AMY-are you riding? how's the office going. Hygients wouldn't be my thing either but good that you can help with x-rays. a friend of mine took that exam and it was tough. DUTCH-how is everyone feeling? how's Ally? LIBBY-enjoy Palm Springs. i was there when I graduated 6th grade. I'll guess it's different now. and sorry about the kitchen but maybe better that you will be there when it's all going in. demolition is the big mess. BETH-hope you and DH are doing well. waving to all. busy day tomorrow, work out, my derm. check up and then haircut. Busy practicing harp now. HAGD

Good afternoon. Had a nice lazy day yesterday. Last night a little after 10 it started thundering and lots of lightning all night long until about 11 this morning. Didn't get a lot of sleep due to all the noise of the thunder. DH and I are both better. Yes I've started on the order. It's a 2 part order. I just need to do 2 caps to finish the first part and will probably mail it toward the end of the week. The 2nd part of the order isn't due until mid May.

Hi all, Everyone sounds super busy. I went out to the barn after work and just did a relaxing walk around the farm with Lukas, it was lovely for both of us, he was a good boy.
Barb- I hope DH procedure goes well and your tooth is taken care of too. Mud season is only good because it means frozen season is over.
Libby- safe travels! wow this kitchen seems to be quite an ordeal. My DH wants to have our master bathroom remodeled. I am not looking forward to the process. I am sure all the 4 legged kin will be happy to see you when you arrive!
Cathy- glad you had a good watercolor class. What are you working on?
Faye- good for you putting those French skills to the test. Try watching some French language movies on Netflix for a fun way to listen to French. You were down in my old stomping grounds in Baltimore, My first job after college was right across the street from the Inner Harbor area.
Dutch- It might be fun to write a "letter" to your son about his trip and tuck it away with a couple of trip photos so he can read it when he is older. After my Mom passed I found a letter from me among her things that I had written to her when I lived in Japan. It was great to read it because it had the kind of details you forget over time.
Beth- anything growing in the hay garden yet?
Have to go put dinner on the table....

Good Morning- back from the endodontist - yes- root canal done - he was surprised i was able to withstand the pain as there was a good infection going on (TMI?)Now on to my dentist for a crown! And DH needs SLOW mohs -apparently this one is done over 3 days -depending on if they get it all the first one! Ah the joys of getting older! Rain here again today (and thursday) - the stream behind our house is rising -it does that usually when we get a lot of rain -and goes down as soon as it stops. Only once in 30 years has it gone over the banks (been real close many times) but then there is about 10' of lawn before it hits our driveway which is triple wide before it gets to the garage -so we are probably in good shape!
Amy - glad you had a nice ride w/ Lukas - are there longer trails you can take him on nearby -do you have a trailer -or ones you can truck to? I know I am lucky that the conservation trails are 3 houses down from our barn.
Libby - sorry that the kitchen is turning into a nightmare - keep the thoughts of how great it will be when it is finally done!
Beth - so nice you can plant so early - we never put our garden in until Memorial Day - what are you planting?
Faye- hope derm check up went ok - (was this just routine?) just don't start talking french to us here! LOL
Cathy-yes, isn't it amazing how we don't have time for everything -how's the kitty doing w/ the new meds? Keep posting your paintings -they are fabulous!
Made some mac & cheese -something soft to eat for lunch -then will do a few things in studio -then nap time - I have a board meeting tonite for horse group & tomorrow nite for art group.

Hi, all! Barb, I looked up mohs (now that I know how to spell it) and it is interesting. My mom gets the basil and squamous on her face and she recently had this done, just didn't know what it was called! Glad the root canal is done and you will be pain-free...enjoy the meetings! Faye, I've heard Rosetta stone is good (but expensive) unless you can rent them from the library or something. Sounds like you did well The other harpist and I are meeting again this Thursday since she has the week off. Beth, so you wet the hay bales for a while before planting? Interesting...have fun finishing the order! Amy, glad you were able to get out on Lukas for some relaxation. I used to go the barn at lunch and go for a trail ride behind Stanford "Monkey Farm". You had to have a special key and where I boarded they had one. It was really nice. Libby must be travelling. Dutch, hi! Recuperating from the holiday? Back to work? Ick. No walking yesterday so that's 3 days w/o exercise. I HAVE to find a way to get more active...it's driving me nuts! I'm going to have to push myself and go to the gym or walk late in the afternoon (now that sun sets later it shouldn't be a problem). Just the motivation part is lagging Will swim today but have a meeting at 3:30 so if there's a "line" to swim like there was Friday, I might strike out. Cathy

CATHY-sorry you couldn't walk. can you do any exercise in the house? DVDs? Judy told me about DuoLingo a free web/app language thing and I'm doing that right now to review what i know. then I'll see about Rosetta stone. it was a bit pricey but now that i get emails from them i get discounts so if a good one comes out I may try it.. Happy painting BARB-glad the root canal went well. good luck with the crown. Derm was ok but one thing on my back so she wasnt sure so removed it and will send it out. Rain and incredible fog here. haircut later but it's only 5 min away. Got some Passover cakes to bring to Tues. night. I order an Edible arrangement to bring on Mond night. we are going to 2 seders this year so no cooking for me. Good and sad at the same time ! when does DH have the Mohs? good luck with the stream behind you. BETH-how's the embroidery going? nice that it's in 2 phases. AMY-hope things are settling down at the office DUTCH-waving LIBBY-have fun in Palm Springs. what is there to do there?
so foggy, barely saw a car drive by thru the window. Can't see the houses across the street.
waving to all. HAGD

Hi All, Day off! Plans include trying the new jump course set up at the barn along with boring things like laundry and garden clean up.
Barb- There are some nice trails in the park that connects to the farm but Lukas is not quite ready for those yet. We are building up to it. So glad the RCT went well.
Beth- Glad you got the first part of the order done. No birds have moved into our new birdhouse yet, how are your feeders?
Faye- you may want to check e-bay for Rosetta Stone, I was thinking of learning Italian once and found deals there. I have now decided that learning Spanish would be much more useful for me.
Libby- Hope you arrive home safe and sound.
Dutch- So sorry that DS is sick. Clean up when they are sick is one of the down sides of motherhood but there are so many up sides to compensate.
Cathy- looking forward to seeing your new painting when you are done.
I have to start wearing my show boots to ride. First show is April 22nd. I am nervous, LOL.

Hi, all! Faye, I hope the fog clears for you. Does DD go with you to the 2 nights of seder? I went to one a long time ago; friends of friends who invited Christians to the seder to teach them about the meanings behind the meal. Very interesting...and I've forgotten most of it Barb, yum, matza toffee brittle sounds lovely! Do you have a temp crown then? Mine tend to be very sensitive, unless they come off completely. Amy, glad you have a day to goof off...a bit. Have fun on the jump course! Dutch, sorry about DS...I don't even like cleaning up after myself or the cat, so good for you for being such a great mom! Hope he feels better soon! Beth, my harp teacher lives in NOLA and she said they are getting tornado warnings. She's on the 3rd floor (converted attic I think) and didn't know what to do so went down to the parlor, which is all windows. I think she needs a better plan Have fun working on your order! Libby, hope your travels are going well! It's Spring Break here so the pool was pretty empty. Had a lane to myself so that was nice. I ended up staying longer and swimming for 45 minutes. Tomorrow the garbage co. is sponsoring a spring clean-up so you can put as many big garbage bags at the curb that you want. I have to clean out the garage this afternoon and get rid of things that previous owners left. Still haven't heard anything from insurance co. so will call today...of course, they'll just say they never got the message Cathy

DD come home both nights but this year going home Mon. night so she can work part of Tues. so driving her back each night. She'll take the train in. We are hoping the trains are ok, some derailed this week and so on an alternate schedule. hopefully back to normal by Friday AMY-if you do the demo on Rosetta stone the next day or so you get a nice discount offer nice that a show is the end of the month. enjoy the new jump course DUTCH-hope everyone is feeling better. BARB-sorry about the tooth, guess no matza brittle for you. BETH-be careful with the weather. is it tornado watch for you too? glad the first part of the embroidery job is done good harp lesson. now practicing. HAGD

Cathy - yes a temp filling on the tooth -an appointment w/ dentist in 10 days to do a "build up" (Amy - help me out here!) then after that a fitting for the crown then the crown (if i understand this all correctely!) And yes Faye- I am managing some matzo brittle (maybe that's not the right term) matzo toffee? easy to make if you want the recipe. I also made some flourless, gluten free cookies to send down (chocolate and yummy) Amy - take your time on getting him out & about -if you can find someone who's horse is trail safe it will be good for you to go with them at first. Beth -hope this crazy weather continues to pass you by
The shed has been so wet between the rain and there are leaks in the roof (BM says he knows he has to do some repair work -however -his middle name is "tomorrow"!) we just left it with no shavings at least until Saturday - in all the years I 've been there never had to do that before. They will survive (there are stall mats down)
Tomorrow I'm going with a friend who is doing very high level dressage (bronze level stuff) on her Lusitano stallion (I may have mentioned her in the past) she is at a new barn with an olympic short list trainer - pretty fancy -(and then I go back to my muddy, dirty trail horse-just kidding) should be fun watching her work him.
Heading back to the barn in a bit to de-mud Penny & Put a sheet on her for the night -good news is weather predictions are 60's & 70's next week! We ride again!

Hi. Spent extra time at the barn the weather was so nice! Lukas got his first full bath of the year. Promptly rolled when I turned him out but I got a lot of dirt build up out of his mane which was my goal. New pony arrived at the barn along with new boarders who seem nice enough. My good friends horse arrives this weekend.
can't wait.
