Good morning.
It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood. The horse lovers neighborhood that is.
QOTD (thanks to Amy) What horse related thing did you spend money on and regret (excluding horse)?
My regret was buying a used saddle that ended up having the tree cracked and I couldn't use it.

Good Morning - Kind of gray & sticky here - didn't ride -my purchase that I said -"what was i thinking?" these rubberish scratching things you screw on a post (or wall) for the horses to rub up against -our horses really have never used them!
Amy -when is your next show? Beth -and yours? I am on the 3 week countdown -have to get my act together-organize boxes - get my competition piece ready ....And I'm hoping to get down to Newport to visit w/ Judy next week~

Hi all- new to group... I live in Oklahoma and have a few horses, mostly trail ride. It's been really hot here lately, and between building a house and getting married- the horses have gotten a nice break. Hoping to get back to riding this Fall though. I also bought that plastic scratch thing and it didn't get used at all- and it was super small for the price. I also still not sure fly predators did much of anything.

Hi Beth. hope this works. I regret getting a pretty boot carrier and having it embossed with my name (basically what you do) because then when I sold the boots I couldn't sell the bag. I also regret getting an exercise helmet . should have just spent the $ and gotten a nice helmet. then I ended up with 2 when I showed. Have a good day.

Hi everyone I rode in my teens and twenties and took it up again about 7 yrs ago. Took english lessons once a week. Had a riding accident 2 yrs ago and broke my hip and wrist and am ok now but no longer ride (plus my teacher and the horse i rode moved). But I've been with these lovely ladies on a WW board and so here I am. I play the harp and do library shows and play at senior residences.

Welcome Whiskytango. So glad you can join us. I don't have any horses now but I live vicariously through others.
Faye-so glad you could join us here. Which harp is the new one?

Hi, I regret buying a fly repellant band that attached to the bridle for trail rides. Did not work well and was awkward to use. I also regret buying Rueben a cheap quarter sheet for riding out in cold weather. It does not stay put. I bought a nice one for my first horse but it doesn't fit Rueben (too small). I should have just bought that nice one again in a bigger size but I thought I was saving money. Nope, some things are worth the extra cost.
Rode in the indoor arena today during a very heavy downpour and the noise on the metal roof was amazingly loud.
My nephew escaped the flash flooding in Ellicott City MD that you may have seen on the news. He grabbed his wallet, passport, computer and phone. By the time he got to the sidewalk it had washed away but he was able to drive his car out of there to higher ground. He probably would not have made it out 5 min. later. He is staying with friends and only has what he grabbed and the clothes on his back but is thankful he is safe and saved his car. His apartment is on the second floor of an historic building so hopefully they will allow him back in to get his things. They have engineers checking to see if that will be possible. The outcome for him is good compared to a lot of other people, he is the resilient type so I think he will be fine.
