Good morning all!
I got back from Tampa around 1 pm yesterday, and had to go into an all afternoon meeting right away. Since I had driven the state car, DH picked me up at the end of the day and had dinner all ready to cook. I was so exhausted last night. I have another very full day today, but will get a break tomorrow - no meetings on my calendar, and I have a lot of desk work to do. Peg, no extra time off this week, but because I traveled down to Tampa on Sunday, I'll "bank" five hours and use them next week - I'm taking a little pleasure trip at the end of the week with two girlfriends. Will tell you about that as the time comes closer.
Peg, in the late 90s, we sold my mom's house to the student who lived next door. He did use it as a rental, but fixed it up a lot. In the intervening years, he has become a successful real estate agent in town.
Esther, best to you with your brother. I hope you can get a break from it for a bit anyway.
Lynn, hope your DH is better. I've been on antibiotics for a sinus infection as a result of all the pollen.
Joyce, hope you had a pleasant day to yourself yesterday!
Janice, from Monday's post, sounds like you had a really great weekend!
Have a great Thursday everyone!

Good Morning
Busy week - we don't have any extra time off - working on quarterly reporting and will have the account reviews next week. Full moon this week too - and working with a lot of elders, this brings on a lot of extra phone calls and activity.
Our outdoor air is filled with smoke from the spring burning in the Flint Hills - this is part of the natural ecology of maintaining the tall grass prairie. From my office window you can really see the haze.
I just had a old favorite for breakfast - a slice of multi grain toast, peanut butter and sliced banana. Had not done that in a long time and I enjoyed it. Calls for another cup of coffee, then to work.
Hope everyone is doing well today and enjoying whatever the day brings.
Janice

Good morning friends,
Maryenne, glad you had a safe trip and I will be anxious to hear about your upcoming "girl trip".
Janice, hearing about your added phone calls, etc during a full moon reminds me that nurses would say a full moon brings on more baby births.
Today we have the showing to the dad with cash at 3:30 this afternoon. I'll let you know how it goes. I am having lunch with a BFF which should be a lot of fun. She has been crafting for a local hospital so I am anxious to hear about that.
As for the new house, we signed off on flooring and lighting yesterday and I ran preliminary upgrade numbers and it appears we are in good shape. I wanted to run the numbers before we start doing any serious looking for appliances.
The sun is shining bright this morning. I hope you all have a sun filled day....waving hello,
Peg

Good morning friends. DH is doing somewhat better but is not his usual self. Pneumonia takes a toll on a person. Esther, I hope your brother is doing better. I hope the rabbi can help persuade him to be in a safer place. Maryenne, I can't wait to hear about your girls trip. How nice DH had dinner ready to go after your long day! Janice, I have heard that the controlled burns are necessary for healthy prairies. As a former science teacher I taught environmental science. One of the speakers I brought in was a state forester who spoke about the importance of fire in the ecology of different places. The prairies were one of the ecosystems he spoke about. We have no prairies in New England, but controlled burns have been studied in relation to field ecosystems here. Sorry for the teacher mode! Peg, hoping that cash dad comes through with your full asking price! That would be nice! What are you looking at for new appliances? Gas or electric stove? What kind of refrigerator? Joyce, I hope you had a restful couple of days. We are meeting with our contractor today. One more inspection and we should be on the last leg of the porch project. Enjoy the day! Lynn

Good morning! Maryenne, the girls trip does sound fun. Looking forward to hearing about it. Janice, your breakfast sounds delicious to me. I haven't had that in a long time either, and it makes me think I should do that soon. Peg, hoping the dad comes through with a full price offer. Esther, I will be thinking of you today and hope that the Rabbi will be able to help your brother see the importance of being somewhere safe. Lynn, you're right that pneumonia does take a big toll and it takes awhile to bounce back to normal. Hope your DH will do so soon. Cleaning lady is here this morning, so it will be nice to have the house fresh for Easter even though our celebration will be small. Taking DH to the orthopedic doctor again. Last time the injection made his leg numb for several hours. If he gets a second injection, I hope that won't be the case this time as it was very hard to get him back into the house when we got home. We managed though, so if necessary we can do it again. Have a lovely day!
