Good morning all ~
This has been an incredibly stressful week with back-t-back meetings and I am so glad it's Friday. I've blocked my calendar from any meetings today so that I can sit in the quiet and get some actual work done. I have a suspicion that there will be more organizational changes and I'm a little concerned about that. However, I do have some comfort in the knowledge that I can retire anytime I want - I'd rather it be on my own terms and not a sudden decision made emotionally.
Did I say so glad it's Friday? I would like to do some clothes shopping either today after work or tomorrow. Our only weekend obligation is dinner tomorrow night with my cousins down at the coast. The kitties and I got up at 5 this morning - I've done the bills and have a load of laundry now in the dryer.
Sorry I'm all about me this morning. Hope you all have a fantastic Friday!

Good.morning everyone,
Maryenne, I do hope your day will be quiet and stress free. Just remember you have a girl trip planned very soon.
We ended up with two showings yesterday. The one guy that brought his dad to see the house is a PhD student at the university. Our agent thinks they will make an offer but were having trouble with the $ conversion between China and then US. The second one was with our neighbor real estate agent. She has always said that this neighborhood just isn't as high end as people would like to think so naturally her feedback included that the house was priced too high. She may be right but we'll wait and see. Our agent thinks we are fine. We did start looking at appliances. The gal we are supposed to work with is on vacation this week. Lunch with BFF was fun yesterday.
As for today we are meeting with our construction manager at 11 this morning. Our exterior doors were delivered yesterday and the fireplace is installed.
It should be a quiet couple of days for us then we will be driving to my sister's house on Sunday for our traditional family Easter egg roll. I think we are going to Omaha next weekend to see DD and family. If we do I will have to make sure the house is "show ready" before we take off.
Does anyone have special Easter plans?
Wishing everyone a great TGIF!
Peg

Lynn, you asked about appliances.....
Our builder's appliance allowance is enough for the basic Frigdar Galaxy line.....so with that in mind and trying not to break the budget I want a French door refrigerator, a slight upgrade on the range that I think includes convection, microwave that also has the convection option, and a Bosch dishwasher. Currently I have a Bosh dishwasher and love it, it is soooo quiet. The idea of having both the stove and microwave have the convection option is my solution to not having a double oven. Of course the gal is on vacation so we won't get a price until next week.

Good Morning all
Peg - it will be interesting to hear about your appliances as you select them. I have a French door refrigerator. I knew I wanted a bottom freezer but wasn't sure about the doors when I had to replace the 30 year old Frigidaire. I am very happy with it. And, I always tell anyone who will listen how much I hate side by side refrigerators (I had one in a house we bought years ago - sold it with the house happily) I know nothing about convection ovens so will be interested.
Maryanne - hope your Friday is calm and productive. It is nice to know that you can retire whenever. I have not reached the point yet where I can say I am ready but I do have moments!
Lynn - I am thinking that you were a very good teacher. Yes, the burning takes care of the scrub cedar and such like. Also kills ticks. When I was growing up in Minnesota, my dad always burned off the blueberry patch every few years. My gosh, I hated picking those blueberries! But I still love to eat them.
Waving to all and wishing everyone a good weekend.
Janice

Good morning everyone! It's a bright sunny day here, and very warm.
Maryenne, hope you do get some quiet time today to get caught up.
Peg, sounds like a good plan for your appliances. Like Janice, I am very pleased with my French door refrigerator with the bottom freezer. In fact, I like it better than any refrigerator I've ever owned. Agree with you both about not liking the side-by-side ones.
Esther and Lynn, waving to you both. Hope Lynn's DH is feeling better, and Esther hope the meeting between your brother and the Rabbi went well.
Off to the grocery store!

Good morning friends. We had a good day yesterday. We had dinner with good friends last night. We also met with the contractor about the porch. The inspections are done and the insulation should be installed next week. Then the wall. Lard and sheet rock. I can't wait to sit out there in the sun with my coffee in the morning! Maryenne, don't worry about chatting about yourself! We have all done it at some time. This little group is a great place to share our frustrations. I am hoping you have a productive non-meeting day. Janice, thank you for the kind words. Thank you for sharing your information with us. We all live in different locations and I find it interesting how each area is different and I learn something new all the time. Enjoy your wine tonight! Peg, your appliances sound delightful! Your house plans are coming along so quickly! I hope your sale goes quickly. Enjoy Easter with your sister. Joyce, hoping DH's injection goes well. Your parents are in my thoughts and prayers. Will you be celebrating Easter with them? Esther, still thinking of your brother and praying that things continue to improve for him. I hope you and the dog have been able to enjoy this beautiful spell of spring weather. Living in New England, I am always waiting for the next "surprise " weather. I remember when I was in high school we had a snow storm on Mother's Day! We have a wedding tomorrow and will have a quiet dinner Sunday. I picked up a couple of ham steaks at the local smoke house up here. It's just the two of us this year. DH is still on the mend, DD1's son is recuperating from strep throats and mono, three of the grandchildren have gone to Florida with their mother for a week. DD2 may come by for dessert. Her SO's mother is cooking dinner. I will have to come up with something for dessert, which is not my specialty. Especially for a small gathering. It may be Girl Scout cookies! Enjoy the weekend. Lynn
