Good morning! I am feeling much better today. I left work around 3, came home, and slept for a few hours, and then had a very good night's sleep. The bills and laundry are done, so I think I will drive into town in a while to do some clothes shopping. Not sure exactly what I want, but I feel like my current work clothes are getting tired. Later today, around 5, we will head to the coast (about 45 minutes) and join my cousins for dinner at our favorite seafood restaurant, Spring Creek. Here's a nice little write-up about it and a map. www.visitwakulla.com/Restaurants/Spring-Creek-RestaurantI made reservations yesterday to fly to Buffalo on May 20 for a week. I'm going to rent a car this time so they don't have to ferry me back and forth. By that time, we are hoping my younger son is in a new job as the wildlife specialist for Erie County SPCA. He had his final interview Thursday and said it went very, very well. He loves his current job at a veterinary hospital, but he has no benefits there, and the new job would give him health care, days off, etc. Hope everyone has a bright and sunny day!

Good morning friends,
Has anyone been watching April, the giraffe, giving birth? I came across it by accident on Facebook. The baby should be born yet this morning.
The possible house sale to our PhD Chinese student isn't going to happen as dad figured he would make more $$ investing his money in China than in IN. Our property doesn't appreciate fast enough for him. We have another showing Monday morning. We had another walk through on the new house yesterday to check electrical again and go over the progress. They have installed all of the outside doors and started installing siding. We love the front door.
We will be driving to my sister's house tomorrow and I am going to make carrot cake cookies. The cream cheese icing goes between two cookies for a sandwich cookie. The recipe is from Taste of Home.
My neck has been really hurting for the last two days, in fact I slept on the couch last night. I was able to get the pillows wedged in and slept like a baby....thank goodness. It is feeling pretty good this morning but I am aware of a slight discomfort almost constantly.......I guess too much house cleaning......primarily vacuuming.
The sun is shining here again this morning...hope it is shining for all of you ladies too.
Peg

Good morning everyone!
Maryenne, enjoy your shopping. Glad you got some rest, and good luck to your son. Hope the job comes through for him.
Peg, sorry the sale isn't going to work but the right buyer will come along. In the meantime, it's great that the building is going along so well. The carrot cake cookies for tomorrow sound delicious.
Lynn, enjoy the wedding! Is this a family wedding or for friends?
Esther and Janice, hope you are both having a lovely weekend. Esther, hope your brother is still improving.
We are leaving in about an hour to go out of town for a family funeral. It's about a 2 hr drive, and for my oldest cousin.
Have a wonderful day everyone!

Hello
Glad you are feeling better today, Maryenne. Looked at the restaurant facebook page and menu - I will have the tomato pie and shrimp, please! Looks wonderful.
Carrot cake cookies sound good too. A gal I work with brought carrot cake Hershey's kisses to work the other day.
Esther, hope you are having a wonderful Passover season.
Went to farmer's market this morning. Got some pretty radishes called Pink Beauty. Also a pound of local ground beef. They finish the animals with oats and it has tested to be a lower cholesterol product with the proper balances of the Omegas. No hormones or antibiotics, etc.
The headline of the Topeka paper today was announcing the likely closing of one of the two hospitals in town. 1,600 employees. Of course, every single one of my doctors is affiliated with or employed by this hospital. Can't imagine how this will play out as the other hospital can't absorb the patient load - there is already a wait of about a year to get in with their primary care physicians and at times, their emergency room has to redirect people. I just checked and I have about two months of medications before the scripts run out.
Greetings to all of you and have a great weekend.
Janice

Peg My DD is addicted to watching April the giraffe. I am glad the baby is finally born.
My brother has been transferred to a medical respite hospital for the homeless. I missed the visiting hour on Friday because I had a Dr appointment. They won't allow me or my rabbi to visit this weekend. Visiting hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1 _ 2pm and there are no exceptions. I don't understand why. They are near the marathon route so I will have a hard time getting there on Monday. I have to let go of being involved with his treatment team as I was when he was in the hospital.
I saw the spine specialist on Friday. I have been referred for 6 weeks of PT. I hope it helps. I need to follow up with a gynecologist for the pelvic cyst.
Janice - I am sorry about your local hospital closing.
Have a wonderful Easter celebration everyone.
