Hi, all! Faye, hope you had a good music lesson! Barb, have a nice lunch with glass friend. I saw the picture of the "mud-spattered jeans"...just too hilarious, and actually too filthy looking even for me Dutch, glad DS is mending well AND that he gets his favorite teacher. I love that Ally chose company over food Beth, good to have you back! I saw something this morning about actually starting seeds in newspaper cups you make yourself. Same principle as peat cups...you can plant them in the ground directly. Sounds like you'll have a lovely garden! Glad you're back to walking! Amy, have fun with the hunt coat search. I just recently gave all my stuff away. It's one of those "I'll never fit it in again, but it holds some sentiment". Hi to Libby! Spent all morning on the spreadsheet yesterday, then had to add to it this morning. Hopefully it doesn't come back a third time! Got the camera to the repair guy, very sweet. Works in a mobile home park so kind of weird to find. Had to call and make sure where it was (thank goodness for cell phones!). And did call the claims adjuster yesterday, she said I could call the mold guys directly so will do that to get on the schedule. Will try to walk today, maybe my short hike in the local park. Gloomy today but not expecting rain. Cathy

Good Morning - Beth- I see a lot of cukecumber salads in your future! I make one w/ sour cream, onions & dill, one with scallions, vinegar/water & sugar -both yummy!
Dutch - I feel your pain about the rain - yesterday I couldn't even use the wheel barrel through the mud! I used the muck bucket cart and dragged it through the mud! It is ankle deep with puddles in front of the shed & about 1/4 of the front part of the pasture - I told BM he is going to have to do something about the amount of dirt when it finally dries out (if it ever does!) At least Penny's shoes are staying on (for now!) Nice about the pre-school -they have a summer program? Will that let him be there in the fall as well?
Libby- how is Rosie settling in back home? Any more progress on the kitchen? Won't you be glad when it is finally done? LOL
Waving to Cathy, Faye & Amy - hope you ladies are ok - TtFN HAGD - CBL

Hi horse lovers, The mom didn't come back to the nest 4 tiny dead babies- I feel so bad! Had two ducks in my arena (pond) yesterday! They show up this time of year lol even though I have a pump this year and there isn't much water. Rode Lucy and Rosie with bareback pads and bridles at walk/trot and leg yields. It was nice riding rosie w/o a saddle as she really felt my seat and responded. Dh watched from the deck and said they both looked good. Rosie will fatten up quickly with some tlc, I wonder if she got her vitamins regularly as there was a lot left in the bag I got back from Heidi. I increased her Ultium feed, which is very calorie laden, so it shouldn't take long. The vet comes out tomorrow for shots/check up. Tomorrow some more work will be done on the kitchen My running joke is that my floor and countertops match (plywood lol). Went to the doc's yesterday and got injection in my r elbow and a referral for my feet - he thinks that I have tight calf muscles/ankles and that is what is causing the pain, so he wouldn't inject my feet. The elbow feels better already! I would really like to start working out hard again, I've been doing the stretching DVD - nothing aerobic. my weight was up a little at the doc's not bad although the medical assistant put my height at 5'5" (instead of 5'8") which really messed up my BMI! Barb; ugh! the mud is awful here also. We need more 5/8- gravel in the paddocks- all it takes is $$ Cathy; glad your able to call the mold guys and get an appointment! And thanks, I wish you were closer! Amy; anything happening with the property where you board? Beth; sorry about the computer, glad your garden starts are growing so well! Dutch; glad ds got the teacher he likes! Faye; how was your lesson? HAGD everyone! DH and I may go out to dinner tonight. We have an Outback Steakhouse gift card that we need to use up Will probably share a prime rib meal-yummy

Good afternoon. I've been working on my embroidery order this morning. Just finished lunch and after posting I will work some more on it. I want to be able to mail it out Saturday but more realistically it may be Monday. Tomorrow is my monthly grocery shopping.

DUTCH-great about the pre-school. is it half day? whole day? It's combo daycare/preschool. So he's there all day long and each day for about 1 hour they do pre-school. Less than 10 kids all day. Normal pre-k here has about 15 kids.

Hi horse lovers, Faye, he wants me to stretch 3 times a day and ice my feet for 20 minutes when they hurt. I have started the stretching dvd again. I go on and off with it. My whole body seems to be tightening up these days, not in my abdomen where I want it to lol! Too bad you have to wait till Monday for the dishwasher! Dutch: I work with programs that have 4 year old preschool/childcare mix, they kids are so cute and curious! Well, right now I'm only working about 4 hours a month lol and loving it! Barb; construction guys showing up in about and hour, range hood and back French doors are their jobs today Rosie is doing great, Lucy is very worried about her, neighs anytime she can't see her. Vet will be here at 1:00 today for shots and check ups, Rosie is starting her skin allergy again - are you feeling better? Cathy; did the mold guy ever show up? when is your appointment to see the foot doc? Beth; it must be nice to be back on your embroidery machine! We ended up going to our favorite Mexican restaurant, it's less than 2 miles away. They changed the menu and raised their prices. We used to share a fajita meal for 15$ and now it's 20$- big increase! and they changed their salsa-it was like stewed tomato's! DH was really disappointed. Amy; when is your next show? I think you are a great team - your first show and did so well! congrats! My dsister is coming to see the remodel (she hasn't seen it yet) then we are going walking at the mall. She has her dgd 2yo with her, she watches her while my niece works. We need to catch up, she said we let too much time go between when we meet - I agree! She has a flair for decorating, I may ask her for some tips! She used to come over and move my furniture around ever so often lol! And straighten my pictures, got to love her!! I'm getting my dgd's tonight for the weekend, so not sure I'll get on the board much this weekend, depends on if I wake up before them (3 yo and 8 yo). HAGD everyone!

Hi, all...tried to post yesterday but had issues, not sure if computer or site related. Faye, it does come in threes, doesn't it? Remember the days when we didn't have dishwashers Libby, have fun with sister. Hopefully she'll agree with all your choices It will be nice to get those doors in! I'd like those in the downstairs bedroom, but I have to have the backyard done first, wouldn't be anything to look at elsewise. Barb, hope you get in a nice ride today! Beth, sounds like your doing lots of embroidery work! Dutch, the preschool sounds great...good size, each kid gets some attention! Amy, are you still recuperating from last week? DId you have another show coming up? I tried to call the mold guy yesterday but he has a weird phone so don't think my message made any sense. Will try again today. Got in a short hike Wed, and a swim yesterday. Very nice, no cramps this time. It's either the whole bottle of electrolites I drank the day before or the wedge I cut out of my fins (probably the electrolites I was getting a rub from the fins and cutting a piece out resolved it. Today walking to clinic, hopefully, to get my thyroid retested to see if it's going up. Still would like to try treatment but if there's no change, I know my dr won't sanction it. Cathy

Good afternoon. Got most of my shopping done. Some things I know I will buy later on in the month. My hips and lower back are sore from walking on the asphalt track at the school. This has been my second week back walking. I'm now averaging 2 miles at about 3mph which is a 20 minute mile. When I can average a 17-18 minute mile then I will be back to where I was last year.

Mold guy called me before I could call him. He's coming Monday to get the work order signed, and they will start work on Tuesday. I was hoping to wait until the following week because I'm leaving on Friday for SoCal for nieces graduation, but he said it should be done by Thursday. If not, they will have to wait, that's all there is to that mess.

Good morning just spent over an hour weeding --I have a stone bed where I have a table and chair and the weeds overtook it. large area but was on a roll and it's cool out so went for it. looks nice. I don't do Round up if I can avoid it (very rarely used it)
LIBBY-enjoy the kitchen and hope you got dressed so DGD can feed the horses AMY-good luck if a show this weekend DUTCH-hope all is well BETH-good luck with all your embroidery jobs. hope you finished your shopping and hope all your seeds come up. Happy walking but don't try to push the 18 min mile to fast. CATHY-any swimming? painting? will you play harp with the other person? good luck with the mold guy (don't know what else to call him ) any word on the camera? BARB-hope you ride. when is Vegas, soon I think any of the glass sell at the new place

HI all - Libby glad the kitchen is slowly coming together! It will be worth all the aggravation when it's all done!
Faye- such ambition- but the area sounds pretty -(post a photo on FB when done!) I did get a ride in this morning -alone -although we ran into our neighborhood Friesan stallion -who Penny just loves -she sensed he was out on the trail before I did -as we came around a bend on one trail I could hear Benny's hoofsteps (he's big & wears 4 studded shoes year round) so she got all jiggy- Linda & Benny took off the other way and Penny just jigged the whole way home -I did let Linda know that any "issues" that may occur are my issues not hers!
It's warm & muggy today -but turning cooler tomorrow and yes - more rain next week- we leave early Tuesday morning for Vegas-back late Friday -so most likely will be out of touch.
Amy - I think you had another show this weekend? good luck - Waving to Beth, Dutch & Cathy - TTFN- Off to get mani-pedi for my trip! CBL

Beth; stay safe! Barb; Penny likes that Stallion! Glad she listens to you. The dgd's mom is in Las Vegas right now Faye; DD tells me I should do hot yoga with her for my stretching- I thought of you. I can't stand the heat! Cathy; have you been having swimming weather? Glad you got to hike w/o cramps. Hope the thyroid isn't acting up! Wave to Amy and Dutch! Will be helping the dgd's ride today, looks like the weather may hold out (rain) for a bit!

Tundra goes to a friend who was the Humane society director years ago when I worked there -also a vet tech - she stays at her house -don't think Tundra would do well at a kennel. I have a person who stays at the house w/ the cats -since they have to be fed 2x a day & they are "people" cats - but her schedule is crazy - she is the director of aquatics at a local Y so it would not work for Tundra -The things we do for our 4 legged babies!
Wound up not riding but Penny still got out -the other woman who has the 32 yo horse -she is the one who used to let me use her 2nd horse for riding friends - anyway her daughter wanted to ride this morning so daughter rides their horse & the mother rides Penny -DH wanted to do some "stuff" so it all worked out -This woman has ridden Penny several times (she rides her western!) and loves her so I have no worries

BARB-glad Penny got out. we had a vet tech come to the house 2x a day when we had the bunny. she'd stay a bit and let him hop around as well as fed him etc. Glad Tundra gets to be a t someone's home. BETH-please be safe and let us know how you do. thinking of you. LIBBY-never did hot yoga. too hot for me. seem a restorative or regular yoga would be fine. Iyengar holds poses a long time. Vinyasa is constantly moving. You just want someone who knows what they are doing. I love yoga. doing it later today. it's been almost 10 years now AMY-how was the show? waving to Dutch and Cathy. went to a mall and new stores and had fun. They had a crepe place and it was yummy. needed new dishes and finally got some on sale. Will have to go back to that mall. really nice and cheery. not my usual mall but not too much further and had many stores I go to now so that was fun to see.

Hi, all! Faye, glad you had a quiet day Saturday (weeding can do that) and shopping today. Dishes are fun to buy Beth, glad you got your request all done. Stay safe in the storms! Barb, nice that you can have a friend ride Penny. I have a vet tech for the cat, but she doesn't stay. The cat doesn't really care for other company (never, EVER get a single cat...I've learned that lesson the hard way). Sounds like Tundra will have fun with her sleep-over! Have fun in Vegas!! Libby, so glad you got the door in (is this the French door? what TLC does it need). Have fun with DGD and the horses! I did hot yoga one summer. It is VERY warm, but you do get used to it. Hi to Dutch and Amy! I spent 3 hours house-cleaning yesterday, or some version of that. I had to clear out the garage as they need "space" to do the mold work (Faye, his name is "Tino" ). I also cleaned the bathrooms and the kitchen in readiness for next weekend. I don't do it necessarily for the pet sitter, but I like coming home to a clean house. I have 3 dining room chairs and my bike in the downstairs "office", not much space left for walking through. I also mopped the floor in the dining area (where cat eats), kitchen and upstairs bathroom. She's going through an incontinence phase and I'm tired of the dried pee on the laminate floors. Today was a hike by myself. Absolutely beautiful out...no wind today, sunny in the high 70's. Supposed to be in the 80's tomorrow. It looks like it's supposed to rain Sunday, which is the day I return. So that's fine Cathy

Hi all,
Faye- what do the new dishes look like?
Cathy- Good work on all the cleaning. The solo hike sounds lovely.
Barb- Glad you can handle Penny around the stallion. We had a stallion at the farm for a while but he was not well trained at all. Long story but he has moved now.
Beth- hope you are fine and the dangerous weather stayed far from you. Nice that you got your order completed.
Libby- you are just getting closer and closer to the finish line with the new kitchen. So excited for you.
Dutch- the pre-school sounds ideal for DS.
The show was Saturday morning. Raining and very muddy ring. I did find out that Lukas will canter through giant puddles without hesitation so that is good. We were a mess when done. Mud everywhere, so glad I whitened his socks the day before LOL. It was a challenge to get him moving and without being forward the flying lead changes were hard. I did learn some things though and I do like to show so I am glad I went. Trainer gave me a "C" grade for the day. Only our 3rd show so I will take it. Got 4th, 7th, and 4th over fences and 5th in the flat. Out of 8 horses. The 7th place was the round I really messed up the change and only got the front legs and then did an awkward catching up of the back legs. On the plus side I did really well in getting to the correct spot for jumps. I can't wait for the fields to dry so I can trot some hills with Lukas and get him and me a little more fit. We just keep getting those April showers.
I was really looking forward to my friend moving her horse to the barn but the reality is that so far we just have our lesson together. Our schedules don't really match up. She also wants to do different shows then I do so the "show buddy" idea is not working out either. She has only been there a month so things could change.
Trainer said that the people who inherited the farm along with her have an inflated idea of it's value. ( She researched some comps.) Equestrian properties usually take a long time to sell and the big house and property will have to be maintained, taxes paid etc. She is going to let them put it on the market at the high price and if by any chance they do get a sale she will get her 1/3 so she will benefit. If the property ends up sitting on the market they may get tired of seeing their inheritance get eaten away with the costs of keeping the property. If that happens she will make an offer to buy them out at a more reasonable price. She does not seem to be sentimental about the property and has actually made plans for what she would do if the property does sell. So it will be a wait and see situation for quite a while yet.
HAGD Amy
