Good morning all - had to look down at the bottom of my computer to see what day it is. Spent most of the day yesterday moving into my new office - a real office with a door! Not a cubicle! I don't have the right furniture yet, so I'm cobbling together bits and pieces other people have rejected or left behind. Boss says I will be able to order new furniture at the end of the fiscal year (June) when we have leftover money. Meanwhile, I've got files and stuff just piled up. Peg, hope you have a safe trip to Indiana. As far as going somewhere without DH, I'm pretty independent. I usually make my plans, and then say something like "I'm going on a weekend trip to Georgia with Suzanne and Teresa. Hope that's ok." For bigger trips, I give advance notice - like "I'm thinking about .... " and then "I think I'll go the week of ___". This gives him a chance to say if he has something planned already (which he doesn't, because he rarely plans anything other than dentist appointments). He doesn't mind if I go, if he doesn't have to. The trip you want to take doesn't sound unreasonable to me -- in what way was the reception lukewarm? Esther, I'm sorry about your brother. I often worry about my son, particularly when he is in one of his down cycles, but really all the time. I try to have an image of him resting in God's giant hand. Hugs all around!

Good morning friends! Safe travels today Peg. DH and I sometimes take little trips without each other. We have both taken weekend trips without each other, visited family out of state for longer times and of course, there was work travel. We check the calendar to see if there are mutual commitments that need to be honored. Esther, I keep your brother in my prayers, also Maryenne's son. I love the image of being in God's giant hand! Joyce and Janice, I hope things are going well with you. Congratulations on the office with a door, Maryenne! Today is routine "stuff"- WW, coffee with my sister, recycling, card league tonight. Bring your ray of sunshine to your world today. Lynn

Good morning everyone,
We drove back yesterday. There were semi's everywhere....grrrrrr....which of course meant one passing another going just 1/2 mile faster. Oh well we are home and slept like babies. The house inspection took place yesterday and the appraisal is this morning so we'd will be going somewhere to hangout for a while in about an hour. We went by the new house on our way back into town and they were putting the stone on the front and frantically drywalling the inside.
As for DH and I taking off separately for long weekends, etc.....I used to travel for work quite a bit and when the kids were little BH was awesome and kept them lots of weekends. Since retirement however he has become more dependent on me for companionship. The BFF that asked me to accompany her for a weekend now says her plans may have changed. But I thank you for your comments. I know I am going to want to travel with another BFF that will retire in another year.
I think I hear my bathtub calling my name.....LOL
Waving to everyone!
Peg

Good morning everyone!
Maryenne, congratulations on the new office, and it won't be long before June to get the new furniture too. Like Lynn, I love the visual of your son in God's hand. I can certainly see how that would be comforting for you.
Lynn, enjoy the time with your sister and playing cards tonight as well. It's good that you and your sister live near each other.
Janice, hope all is going well with you.
Peg, your house is coming along really nicely!
Esther, I saw yesterday's post about your brother. I will most certainly keep him and you in my prayers. I know that must be a huge worry for you. By the way, I LOVE the name of your band!
It's going to be a lovely day here, and a fairly quiet one with no big plans. I do need to make a trip to WalMart and run a couple of other errands. Today would be my brother's 61st birthday. It is so hard for me to imagine him at that age as he died exactly one week after his 15th birthday with leukemia. I still think of him and miss him everyday. If you ever see the commercials on TV for St Jude Children's Research Hospital founded by Danny Thomas, my brother was one of their early patients when the hospital was founded. It was much, much smaller then than it is today but it was a wonderful place and while it couldn't save my brother at the time, children who are 8 years old today diagnosed as he was have a very successful cure rate. It's an amazing place.
Have a lovely day everyone!

I'm back...appraiser came 30 minutes early. I was just getting dressed, hair was still wet. DH came into our bedroom to tell me what was going on so I dried my hair and we sat outside on the deck enjoying a cup of coffee while he did his thing. Now for the rest of the day. I have an appt with my local oncologist this afternoon then we are meeting our friends from WY for dinner.
Maryenne, congrats on the new office and future new furniture. I think they are very happy to have you and want to keep you for a long time.😉
Esther and Maryenne, especially when it comes to family, our hearts are drawn in so many directions that sometimes we just have to trust in God's hand and his master plan for each of us. So many aspects of life are just beyond anyone's control.
Hugs and sunshine to everyone! We are having a beautiful Tuesday in IN.
Love to all,
Peg
