Good morning,
I had a good yoga class last night and slept well. Hope you each slept well also. My younger son in Buffalo has a new job. He's been working at a small veterinary practice and volunteering one morning a week at the county SPCA in the wildlife section. The SPCA finally had an opening and he applied along with 10 others. He was chosen for the job of wildlife specialist and he is so excited. He has wanted to get out of the routine veterinary work and into wildlife for a long time. His was the first interview and the boss told him he was like a wedding dress -- all the others needed to rise to his performance! He starts in two weeks but is already going over there for meetings and to get to know the volunteers who he will be directing - they have 5 paid staff and 150 volunteers. I'm very proud of him.
Esther, I think we learn our boundaries when we realize that we are doing things we don't want to do. Then that gradually leads to ways to extricate ourselves. Miss Manners used to tell us to say, "I'm sorry. That would be impossible right now." Done and no explanation needed.
Joyce, I am so happy that your mother is doing so well and hope she continues to remain so.
Peg, how is the timeline going on your new house? Will you be able to just move from one to the other?
Lynn, hope your tuna casserole was good. Do you use potato chips as the topping?
Janice, here's to a good week for you!
I've learned that I need to keep my office door closed or at least almost closed. I'm on a busy hallway and people just love to stop by and say hello, which turns into a long conversation. Yesterday, I really needed the time to get work done and ended up feeling rushed. I've thought of a new trick that I will try today - I'm going to stand up when people come in and maybe they won't feel so comfortable. I'll let you know how it goes.
Have a wonderful day!
