Good morning everyone,
i did get the yard mowed after dinner last night, that felt really good and I slept like a baby.
We have absolutely nothing planned for today. I hope we can come up with a day trip to somewhere for tomorrow. I did look into one yesterday to an old renovated circular hotel/restaurant but it is a three hour drive and kind of pricey......maybe another time....I don't think I want to spend 6 hours driving/riding.
What is everyone up to this weekend??

Good morning Peg and ATC,
We slept in a little - no plans to go anywhere today. Laundry, yard, blah, blah, blah.
There's a book club starting here on Monday, reading "5 Days at Memorial." It's a true story about the hospital in New Orleans that featured in the news after Hurricane Katrina because of the doctors and severely ill patients who were stranded there. I'm only a couple of chapters into the book - hope to read more this weekend. If you are interested, keep an eye out for it here on the Groups thread.
I stayed up last night watching "The Snake Pit" on TCM. It was made in 1948 with Olivia de Havilland playing the role of a woman with mental illness. I love 40s movies.
Happy Saturday!

Good morning! I also posted on the "old" thread, but Maryenne in case you don't check back there today I am so happy your heart checkup turned out well. Peg, a day trip sounds like fun, but you're right that a six hour car ride can be pretty tiring. I'd probably try to look for somewhere a little closer. Since it's a dark, rainy, dreary day here I've decided to make a pot of soup. We all like that, and it's easy to make. Tomorrow step-son is coming for lunch with his wife and their 4 month old (newest grandchild). I'm hoping it will help to cheer my mom up being around the baby. She's pretty down right now, and is having real issues with sundowning late in the evening. I know that just goes along with the Alzheimer's, but I guess I just haven't reached the stage yet where I can just accept that I can't do anything about it. Last night she was very agitated, crying, and saying she wished she would not wake up this morning. That's hard to hear even when you understand that she can't control it. It's especially hard on my dad. But, I talked with DD and DGKs this morning, and that always cheers me up. Wishing you all a beautiful, restful, and fun filled day!

Morning ( barely) Peg, Maryenne, Joyce and all who follow.
Mmmm, soup!
Off on a short trip this weekend to the Twin Cities, where I can actually get ethnic food and a great talk with my BFF.
Have fun today!

Hi everyone,
I just got home from work. I have off on Friday and work out Saturday. Kinda nice to have a weekday off.
Nothing much going on the rest of the weekend for me other than usual laundry, vacuuming, and all that fun stuff.
