Hi All,
good morning Faye, thanks for starting the board.
We went to a family reunion pool party on Saturday and an antique car showcase on Sunday. I posted a photo of me in front of a car on FB but later realized the cross body style purse I was wearing made my boobs look weird so I took it down. LOL. I guess I shouldn't wear my purse cross body style.
It was all very nice but it was a "no Lukas" weekend so I look forward to riding him today.
I am headed to the gym this morning for a workout class I tried for the first time last Monday. I liked it so I am going back. It is pretty hard and I was sore afterwards but not so much that I couldn't function.
Then it is to the barn to ride. We are getting into warmer temps not so morning riding will be key.
I did get the downstairs part of the bannister painted and I am very happy with how it looks. I have lots of spindles to go but I will be doing that painting this afternoon. The primer work was worth it because the paint went on very smoothly.
Barb- glad that you sold some art and I am hoping for you that the Market has a resurgence in popularity.
Beth- sorry to hear about your trail riding friend. It is never easy to lose friends. can you post the bird cam link again? I forgot to bookmark it and "lost" it. Cathy- seems like you are doing some home improvement too. Hope the bathroom cabinets turn out great.
Libby- sorry you missed your anniversary plans but hope you made up for it later.
Dutch- when my DS had seasonal allergies as a kid he took Claritin once a day and I gave it to him right before bed because it did make him sleep. His doctor prescribed it for him and said it takes a little while to build up in the system but once it did it worked very well. Hopefully your DS's doctor appt. reveals some answers, it may not be allergies.
Faye- glad to see you are tracking. You have always been good about exercise. I could use some improvement in both areas. I think you joined WW again, right? I keep thinking of quitting but that might lead to even more weight gain so it is hard to stop.
Hope you all have a great day and a good start to the week!

Good morning. I remembered about the new week starting a new thread this time lol. DH and I will be going to the memorial service for our friend. She was only 59. A year younger than me.
Amy-http://cams.allaboutbirds.org/channel/27/Hellgate_Ospreys/ Chick #4 hatched so there are 3 living chicks now. Have a good time riding Lukas.
The garden is starting to really grow now. When it grows more then I will post a picture.

I spent some time with Lucy yesterday. She is such a wonderful horse I was feeling devastated as dh told me he no longer thinks he can ride her. We were planning on riding together in the arena yesterday. He backed out and said his riding days are over, he has poor balance and doesn't feel safe on the horse anymore. Lucy is his horse, he is the one who pursued her and bought her. I am considering selling her. She is 17 years old this year and needs a person, my dgd's don't come over enough and aren't bonding with her as I had hoped. May be after this summer my oldest dgd will bond with her, we'll see. Rode her in walk, trot and canter and she was perfect. Tried to trot off a couple of times, yet listened to my seat and voice and slowed right down. She is a talker and is constantly nickering and talking to everyone. Heidi asked to take her camping Tuesday - Thursday for her Sig. to trail ride together. She doesn't spook at anything on the trails and is a solid trail horse. DD just got here, I'll bbl

Sorry for your DH Libby- must also be frustrating for him! :/ ((Squiggle)) sorry for you loss! BUSY weekend! DS turns 4 today. He is feeling 100% better now. Saturday was bday party for his friend. They share today as their birthday. Yesterday was DS bday party. That part was a great weekend. Today DS starts his new pre-k/daycare. We brought left over bday cake to share with our new friends. He is just OVER THE MOON happy! lol So no Ally time but it will come ... I think I got DS's creeping crud - in the form of a sinus infection... going on 2 weeks now, so I'm calling DR today. I get that it's kinda germ warefare with little kids but sheesh, I've never been so sick, so often in my life - that I recall. Waves to all!

Hi, all! Tracking: yup Faye, thanks for the link to the Windsor DVD. I added it to my wish list so I could find it later Dutch, bleh...sorry about the infection. Those can be hard to get rid of, but at least DS is feeling better! Beth, wow...3 viable babies...that's really good! Were there more than 4 eggs or was that it? Does DH's class start next week? Barb, that's sad about the mall...I hope it does get revitalized. And yeah, telling older parents they shouldn't be driving anymore has GOT to be hard. Sure don't want to tell MY dad when the day comes. Libby, sorry about DHs decision, that must have been hard. Hopefully one of the grandkids will tune in to Lucy and you can keep her. Hard to think of letting go of a 17yo horse. Amy, sounds like the railing project is going well! It does pay to prep I hear you about the cross-body thing...had some pictures taken of friends and I ziplining...the harness totally amplified boobage. Not pretty at all. Have a good lesson! Stay cool, those in the East! Still working on the cabinets. I had a "mar" on the base cabinet so needed to sand and restain a small section, so that is a day behind. I think the doors and drawers got their last coat this morning. Not perfect but better than it was. Hope to spend time getting them back on base tomorrow. Got in a hike yesterday, and of course cabinet work. Will maybe swim today or walk (still windy and cool), then harp lesson late this afternoon. Cat seems fine...she's down here in the office, thinking I should be working...too funny. Cathy

HI again- Libby - yes, sad about DH -you have to respect his feelings about his physical ability -FYI- Penny was 17 when I bought her -so there are people out there who will do that especially if the horse is sound & easy -which is sounds like she is -as you said perhaps DDG will bond w/ her & it will be a moot point -hope it all works out.
Cathy -you are keeping busy! glad kitty is doing better!
Faye- how are all your bumps & bruises?
Dutch -you are lucky the school allows you to bring cake etc- most of the schools here no longer allow it due to all "food issues" kids have -at some point I think it's gone overboard - but that's just me!
Amy -did you get a ride in before it got too hot (although you do have an indoor! LOL)
Beth - can't wait to see pics of the hay garden!
I did ride -was on Penny by 9:15- we whipped thru the 3.2 mile loop in about 45 minutes -she was pretty forward and we did a good bit of trotting where the trail allows it (being old railroad beds makes for a lot of uneven footing so many places are walk only!) then did some errands -now may head to a friend's pool for a bit -or stay in my a/c house - not sure!
enjoy the rest of your day =

I'm back I had a hot tub conversation with dh this morning lol - it felt great, not too hot. Anyways, he said he might still try and ride, let's see how the summer goes-he was unhappy when I said I thought we should sell Lucy, he said, "what, I don't want to sell her". So may be I was jumping the gun? Have a great day everyone!

AMY-loved the photo and was so busy looking at the car didn't see the purse issue. just your smile and the car. You are photogenic. glad the bannister is going well. I'm tracking today so hoping to do better. I did rejoin for 3 mos so we'll see how it goes. every time I quit i miss the app so i rejoin LOL BETH-59 is young. very sad, so sorry. can't wait to see photos of your garden DUTCH-4 yrs old-very sweet. glad the party was good. hope you feel better. Sinus infections are no fun. LIBBY-sorry about DH but really, better safe than sorry. I guess the fall and broken hip and wrist jaded me but no reason to sell Lucy if he doesn't want to but that shouldn't be a reason to ride if he feels his balance is off. Hopefully your other DGD will bond with her. and as someone said, maybe you can get someone to ride her. good luck BARB-I hope I didn't sound unfeeling about taking keys away but I know someone who didn't and the car was totalled and I think everyone was ok but not sure; and another where someone fell asleep at the wheel (not a senior, though) and killed a mother and child. so it just sets a button off when I see people who shouldn't be driving. PS-as an OD i could revoke or put limitations on a license if need be so best bet is to talk to your father's doctor and let them be the bad guy. Sorry if I sounded cold. CATHY-good luck finishing the cabinet. have a good lesson. glad the cat is feeling good today. I just printed out the song and will try it. curious what you do with the baseline. You must be good with lead sheets then or does your teacher give you a pattern for the left hand? Have fun.
great Pilates session. it's opened up my shoulder and Friday in yoga I did my first perfect Backbend since the accident. My teacher even spotted me while I did a drop back (go to a backbend from a standing position) so I was pretty happy.

AMY-i also missed that the barn was for sale. I hope things work out. I always preferred the outdoor ring anyway. I also push up to a backbend. But if my teacher spots me I'll drop back. I like to work on the control. BARB-you can only do so much. I understand the worry. I was lucky, my father knew when he shouldn't drive anymore. He lived with us so I could drive or he had a friend who drove him.

Hi all, Tracking -yes but I ate breakfast before I weighed myself. I am trying to check in with the scale more often then the once a week weigh in but I forget to do it when I wake up. Usually this does not bother me at all but sometimes it is hard to love a sport that most people do not understand. the deer have started snacking on some of my potted plants on the patio. They love to eat the blooms. I am glad I did a lot of them with marigolds this year. Next year they might all be varieties of marigolds. I am going to try and move the pots around to a less easy spot to reach to see if that helps. TTYL Amy

Good morning. The memorial service was short and sweet. About 50 plus people were there and of course we talked horses.
We had a good rain last night so I don't have to water the garden today. My walk this morning was hot and muggy. I was sweating and drippy when I got home. Going to be a quiet day other than clothes washing.

HI- so i have been "crowned!" I'm glad I cleaned before (at 8am) cause like Faye (and others I'm guessing) it is way too hot to do anything else. Temp right now about 94 -ran out to feed lunch -both horses were in the shed which is shaded -but I threw lunch hay under some trees so they are good -BM got more hay yesterday -this time it looks to be pretty good -since just Penny & Skip are the only ones eating it (the other horse is no longer getting hay -teeth so bad) we are set for the year/winter! Been staying inside in the a/c -worked in basement/studio for a bit -now going to sit down and maybe nap -the heat is due to break over night & the rest of the week only in the 70's -Tomorrow morning the woman who trucked in a few weeks ago is coming back to ride in the morning with me -
Dutch -you have had a time of it the past month or so - any word on the new position?

Hi, all! Faye, wow...a backbend! I probably crash to the floor, sounds like something you really have to work up to. Teacher cancelled, has a cold as well. I told her to get well before the music camp, which starts late on Thursday. Barb, it is hard when parents make touch decisions. I wonder if we'll all be like that when we reach that age Glad you got a ride in early in the day. And congrats on being crowned Amy, how's the banister going? I usually weigh 2x/week, once on Monday (depressing) and once on Friday (awesome!)...it evens out thank goodness. Sorry about the deer eating the blooms. Beth, glad the memorial went well...sounds like it was nice, given the circumstances. So, maybe 4 eggs was always going to be too much...interesting how nature sometimes deals with things all on it's own Dutch, ah...good drugs help Glad DS liked his present! Cabinets are mostly done. Took all morning to get the small doors back on as there isn't enough room for screwdrivers and drills. But they're on! The drawers somehow got darker...don't think they're a different wood. Someday, I'll redo it...not now. What I need next is one of those pull out drawers for the storage under the sink, and putting down new contact paper (did the drawers...those were easy). Good enough for this week! Went swimming yesterday morning since I thought the afternoon would be busy. The "swim team" or masters class, not sure which, was still there but managed to get a lane just as someone was leaving so OK. This afternoon I'll try a walk...sun it out again, hopefully to continue for the rest of the week. Cathy

Hi all, still tracking The differences in the division I am moving up to on Sunday. Jumps are higher and there will be oxers. the ring is bigger which is actually nice because you have more time to so lead changes. Simple lead changes are not allowed, must be flying. The expectation is that you do the "numbers" between fences in a line. Although I am not disqualified if I do the "add" it won't place as well. In my old division I won the whole thing doing the add. Overall they just expect you to be better. My goal is to get around with no real mishaps. I am sure I will be nervous. This is it ladies, this is the division I have had my eye on for years, LOL. I just need to do it and then worry about improving later. HAGD Amy

CATHY-photos of the cabinets look great. thanks for the info on the song. BARB-any shows coming up? raining now. hope you get to ride LIBBY-any decisions on Lucy? hope it works out. DD is beautiful BETH-will the bird camera be up while the chicks grow up??

Good morning, Tracking yes I remembered to weigh in when I woke up at about 4 am to use the bathroom. the scale went in the correct direction. This is motivation to keep going. It's funny how the "tracking yes" thing is motivating too. Beth- thanks for posting the bird cam link again, I bookmarked it. I am enjoying checking in with the birds, kind of relaxing. Barb- our temps are only supposed to be a high of 86 today and later showers so that should give some relief. Do you use a fly sheet? I don't but some people do at our barn. Cathy- the bathroom cabinet looks much better showing the woodgrain. I am sure that was quite the job but a good pay off. Libby-you and DD look so happy on your shared birthday! any more travel plans? Dutch- allergies are such a long term issue it is easier not to have them in the long run. I hope you are getting some Ally time in Faye- now that I am tracking and using the app again I am going to stick with WW. I was very close to quitting but I do fear regaining. I imagine NYC in the summer is very hot but do you have any plans to visit? My DD who took a bus trip with me to NYC wants to go again but maybe take the train. I am thinking maybe in the fall but we will see. When we went last time we went into Trump Tower to get Starbucks treats on the second floor of the lobby. He wasn't even running then, I guess you can't get near the place now. LOL. Lesson Day We are also going to try and trim him up a little for the show but Lukas hates that so it will not be the fun part. Lots of treats for him afterwards. HAGD Amy

AMY-I agree with you about WW. I will probably renew in July. i do ok when I track. so thanks for motivating me. and congrats on the WL we are in the city a lot. we are going this weekend for Father's day (brunch at the Met museum) and next July for a ballet and show . we visit DD about once a month if she's not coming home and has time. I'm staying over this Sunday to wait for a repair person Monday so she can go to work. And August I usually stay overnight for a Mother/daughter weekend. So we go in .nothing really stops us. I love the city but glad to come home to my trees.
waving to all. heading to my harp lesson and some food shopping, there's a whole foods AND trader joe near my teacher!!! HAGD
