Join in if you are someone who loves, owns, has owned, leases, rides, or just likes to watch these magnificent animals! We love to share stories and talk about the critters that keep us on our toes and in the saddle while on this weight loss journey. If you don't see this thread, please feel free to start it. Good morning- AMY-hope DD's car is ok. glad you had a good lesson BETH-hope you were able to walk and it not be too hot. BARB-hope your DF had a wonderful birthday. Loved the photo on FB LIBBY-how's Lucy?
I'm a WW refugee from the HOrse lovers board. I no longer ride but made friends with my board and would miss them. Hi to new people, takes me time to learn names and horses associated with those names so give me time.
As you can tell from the avatar. I play the harp. Took it up about 12 yrs ago. HAGD
HAGD everyone

Good morning,
We are having a little vacation up in the mountains, so no riding for me until next week. It's a shame, because I think the weather is beautiful back home. Hopefully it will last until next Tuesday when I ride!
CharmedHarp, that's very cool that you play the harp. I am a classical musician, as well (piano and voice). While a harp is certainly more transportable than a piano, it must still be extremely tricky getting your instrument around!
Have a nice day!
Alison

Good morning.
Faye-thanks for starting the board. Although I get up early, sometimes I'm so busy I don't get to my laptop until mid morning like today. To let you in the know-there are so many features here that WW doesn't have. Besides the like button and the little comment section, there is a quote button and when you do a reply you can scroll down and see what everyone has said without losing what you have written. Also In the General Discussion page yesterday there was a thread that asked people what they liked about the new forum and there were a lot of replies about features I didn't know about. You can stalk me to see what I posted on it to find it.
Alison-hope you are having a great time in the mountains. That's nice to know you are a musician. there is so much talent of all types in this group.

Hi, all...yes the WW boards are looking quite sad Glad to have you here, Faye...thought we were going to lose you so it wouldn't have been the same. Alison, have fun in the mountains! It will be nice to get away, even though it means no riding. Beth, glad you're still getting your walks in! As mentioned on the WW post, got steroid shot in my hand yesterday. Hate them! Hopefully will help trigger finger, but it's never worked before. Had to cancel my harp lesson Drizzly/rainy here in the mornings, but I hope to get in a swim today. My "steps" have been woefully pathetic this week! Cathy

Cathy-sorry you had to get a shot in your finger. It sometimes takes up to a week before the medicine kicks in. I've had those shots in the base of both of my thumbs several times in the past.

WOW - lots of action here today - Faye- SO happy to see you =like Beth (?) Said -wouldn't be the same without you! I found a listing of all the equestrian events & channels - if you all can't find it I can scan & Post it here - let me know -We did a quick ride this morning - I have been so amazed that the bugs seemed to have disappeared! Wondering if it is the dryness or the fact that they were so bad in July they are all done? whichever - I'm not complaining. Cathy - sorry about your finger -will it impede your painting? Alison - which mountains - guessing it will be nice there wherever it is! Tomorrow - DH & I are going to look to finally trade in his car - he has a 2003 Elantra with 54,500 miles on it (yes!) he worked 2 miles from home, them from home for 3 years & then retired 3+ years ago -when we go out it's in my car (Kia Sorrento - I love it) so he's looking for just a small car again -Kia Forte -probably going to lease -low mileage lease (!). Starting to organize for my first & only summer show in 2 weeks (I do fused glass) it's a 2 day outdoors show in my town - so close & easy - this is the first year we have not done other outside shows -Beth -when is your next show? Waving to the group - HAGD - CBL

Hey! will anyone be watching the olympics? I guess you can call that the QOTD. I definitely plan on watching the Olympic horse events - I down loaded the NBC sports app on to my phone; you can sign up for alerts for whichever event you're interested in. Are they going to do cross country, do you think (is that the one where they go through countryside riding with jumps and hills and such?)? That was so exciting last Olympics watching them fly through that course!

Alison I'm sure they will be showing some of the cross country but when and how much I don't know.
It's been 20 years since I went to the Olympics in Atlanta GA back in 1996. Boy has time flown by. Well Make that Conyers GA where the horse park is.

Hi all Ok, I have a question on horse trailer opinions!
2003 Morgan Build 3 horse slant. Someone is selling for $5300. Pictures look clean. Clean title.

Have you seen it in person? Check the flooring for rot/rust. Does the wiring work? Do you have a truck heavy enough to pull it? Are the tires good or are they dry rotting. That could be an extra expense. Is there a spare tire? Any sharp edges where the horses are? Is it tall enough for your horse/s? How old is it?

Haven't seen it yet... New spare. Ad says floor, tires, and wiring good. Pictures look clean, but yes would check for sharp edges. It's a warm blood size trailer - I should be plenty good enough. We have an F350 dually... boy, I hope that's big enough. I was mostly curious about the brand - I know the name - but do people like it for the price point? Decent brand?
