From last night
hi
good convention but someone knocked my harp over and it has a ding. very obvious so will need a paint fix up. Spoke to the tech (love her) and the rep from France from the company and will not be perfect but hopefully they can make it better. Person felt really bad and will pay. She's nice. it was an accident; but I was pretty sick over it. Better now.
Barcelona soccer team was at the hotel (they won) Couldn't use the elevators when they were in it and security was tight.
had 2 private lessons. fun socializing. learned stuff. bought stuff.
Just skimmed entries, very tired and doing laundry-
BARB-glad a good show
LIBBY-how is the tooth?
CATHY-nice to get feedback about the watercolor
AMY-how's it going? any show coming up?
DUTCH-hope things are good. How's Ally?
BETH-any more harvesting? did you give away some cukes?
waving to all. really need to sleep. left my phone charger at the hotel too so HOpe they have it.

Hi All,
Tracking -nope, but starting back today.
We ate out a lot on staycation so now I have to work hard to make up for it. I gained weight on my home scale and I didn't go to my WW meeting. I gain weight so easily! (easy keeper, LOL). Hitting the gym and drinking water this week to get back on track.
I bought the show coat the shop ordered for me. It fits close but that is how they wear them now and the fabric stretches so I can move. the sleeves are too long but that is typical for me. The next rated show I have is in August.
Lukas got a little sassy right at the end of our practice ride. I think he was telling me "that's enough" but if he had just waited I was really just about to stop. He refused a small jump which would have been our last one so then I had to have him do it correctly 2 times before stopping. He seemed happier after our cool down walk and I gave him a nice bath and hand graze time.
We now have some sort of aggressive wasp invading our patio. I have been stung 6 times! (2 incidents)DH has been out a few times with the spray but we have not found the nest. I am now afraid of the patio which used to be my favorite spot. They don't seem to be out front so I will be a porch sitter I guess if I want to sit out.
I did the staining of the steps in "sides" so people could walk up and down the side I wasn't working on. The left side is done including 3 top coats of varnish. The right side is stained but seems to be taking longer to dry completely then the first side. Hopefully I can start the top coat this afternoon. So looking forward to being done. The carpet place has not called to schedule yet.
Have to go workout!

Good Morning -Amy- yikes about the wasps - hope you can remove it safely! Did Lukas refuse the jump? Good that you made him do it anyway -my first horse (a mare!) would refuse the first jump whenever we would have a lesson (or warm ups for shows) DH used to say he was going to award me "best performance over a jump without a horse!"
Woke up to rain -so no riding -between rain & stuff I may not ride all week
Faye- did you find your charger?
Libby - DGD gone? glad you had fun! Great pic on FB!
Beth -did you get the caps out? What was the design -don't think you ever mentioned!
Dutch- does DS go to camp or just a daycare for summer? are you going away anywhere? how is Ally doing with the trailer loading?
Cathy -you mentioned help from your painting teacher -what are you working on (Please post pics when you are done -your work is so pretty!)
Doing some paperwork this morning -hoping rain lets up enough to go do a quick clean -then guess play in the studio a bit -
Waving to all -HAGD - CBL

Good morning- AMY-scary about the wasps . can you call an exterminator co. and maybe they can track it down? wear the coat in good health. easy enough to get the sleeves shortened. Hope you enjoyed the staycation. BARB-rain and dark and gloomy here. left another message about the charger, haven't heard back yet.
off to Pilates. HAGD everyone

DGD's are back home! Added 2 Gneices Saturday night so their parents could have some alone time. This is the niece that was going to come and live with me last winter. Her and her dh are back together with counseling. Love all the kids to the moon and back now ready for some me time and projects. Back to tracking and exercising today Get my new crown prep this Wednesday and they are rushing the crown so I can get it the following Wednesday Friday was the first day in a week or more that I haven't taken IB and antibiotics every 4-6 hours! I thought my feet quit hurting, no luck it was the IB lol-I guess I can laugh or cry about my high arches since the Dr. said all I can do is icing and stretching! Does anyone have an Amazon Alexis? I think I'm going to buy one to help with tracking. I read an article where you can sync it with programs and then just tell it to track food or exercise to the program on your phone. I need to look into it more, I think it would really help me with my busi-ness and tracking. Faye; sorry about the ding Barb; no riding I lunged Rosie last night to start her exercise program again! AMy; what a stinker about the jump, glad you stuck with it. Sounds like your project is moving along! Cathy; Is this a busy work week? Dutch: two of my dgd have camp this week, one is an overnight bible camp and the other one is a daily literacy camp! Trust your son had fun! Beth; how are you doing? Waving to all, going to exercise with my new nike's made for people with high arches! HAGD/R

Hi Again,
Lukas didn't do a stop in front of the jump he ran to the right of it. My reins had gotten too long an he took advantage. He doesn't usually try to do this so I think he was "complaining" about wanting to be done. He is a good boy overall but I can't let him get away with stuff or he won't stay a good boy. I didn't do anything to "discipline" him. I just re did the jump two times and then we stopped. I never get mad at him he is my buddy. HA!
Faye- That is upsetting about the harp. Will it still play and sound the same after it is repaired? If I were that woman I would be so sorry! That is the kind of thing you replay in your head and wish you had done something different.
Cathy- That is great that you could get some input from your painting instructor. This is for the painting of your brother right? I think you will be relieved when it is done. I always think it is harder to produce something creative "on request" too much pressure.
Barb- I have some inherited china and I have decided that the next time I need new kitchen dishes I am going to just put them in the cabinets and use them. My kitchen dishes are getting chipped up I think because I bought cheap ones and the china will probably hold up better. I don't know if DH is on board with this idea but we will see when the time comes. The weather for riding has been extreme and kind of the same frustration as the winter weather when you can't ride. Glad your show went so well.
Dutch- Hope you are enjoying summer with your family and Ally
Beth- How is DH knee? Still improving I hope.
Libby- I am surprised you want to start a new project already but you seem like the type that likes to keep busy. I don't know anything about the Amazon Alexis but if you get one you can fill us all in. Hope the new Nikes work well for you.
Stain on the steps is dry! time to start the top coats!

Hi, all...busy weekend, for me Faye, my heart sank when you said your harp had been knocked over! It seems like it should happen so much more than it does (with all those harps sitting close together, I get nightmares of dominoes falling over). How nice though that she offered to pay for repairs...at least she felt bad about the whole thing. Glad you had fun! Barb, so is the rain kind of nice, cooling things off, getting rid of bugs for a bit? The painting is the one of my brother golfing. Didn't have any time this weekend to work on it, will start up again this week. Well...if you can set up the bigger tent with help from others, than yay...as you say, easier than listening to how unhappy DH is with the process. Nice that the show went well! Libby, yeah, my foot is unhappy again, the orthotics don't seem to be helping. I thought they were at first, but I think there still might have been some residual cortisone in there; will need to contact doc about what to do next...surgery, I think I like the Alexis commercials, but that's all I know about it Amy, glad you got through the lesson OK, with minimal correction on your part. Animals are funny...they think they rule the world (yeah, my cat kind of does). Glad the coat fits, except for sleeves. I've had to have those shortened as well. Great about the steps...have fun with those today! I agree with someone else, get an exterminator to get the wasps out. I used to get paper wasps building under the eaves, got those puppies out of there as soon as I saw them, always got stung, just standing there for pete's sake!! Hi to Beth and Dutch! Um...Saturday was errands, working on the harp (regulating levers again), and then went for a walk. Did not realize how warm it was until I was half-way around and staring to feel a little...sick? Slowed down, stuck to the shade, took rests, made it home OK. Sunday washed the car (just for exercise) and ticked off my back in the process. On Aleve right now. Had our little harp fest Sunday afternoon. Four of us women harpers got together to play together. They are all super-busy, so we are going to try once a month. Was really fun, but missed dinner with niece and family. That's how it goes, I could have nothing to do for 2 or 3 weekends and then everything hits at once Will go pick up cat food and meds. Cat was OK at vets; her UTI is clear, finally (she's staying on 3x/wk antibx) but kidney values are still bad. Dropped insulin again, which is good, but vet wants her on low-protein diet. This is going to be tricky, but I'll try. Cat hadn't pooped for a week, finally found some in the litter box this morning (was ready to call vet, thinking she needed an enema). Sigh...never a dull moment. Cathy

Hi all! Hope you are all doing well! I'm not keeping up with the boards right now. Too busy for Ally too but she seems well. Farrier gave her a grade of "A" last week she stood totally still and kept her back legs up WAY better for him. I too was pleased! DS does daycare/pre-k year round still, so no special summer camps. He like his new place still. We on the other hand are maybe not as pleased. We hear too much from DS about watching this or that movie... about only mac & cheese for lunch and pancakes for breakfast- where are the fruit / veggy / proteins? She is state licensed so she is required to do that... I may be shopping for a new place again soon. And it's not that DS would not eat veggies/fruits- he LOVES them. Even salads - so that's not it.

DUTCH-sorry to hear about the food situation at daycare. and isnt' that the place you were so glad he go in to a while back for school? And congrats on Ally getting an A CATHY-sorry to hear about your foot.. do you enjoy playing with others with the harp? do you do only celtic or other stuff BARB-i missed the tent DH thing. hope all is well AMY-boy i give you an A for staying on Lukas when he went to the side. Dorito used to do that and he shoot to the side and the force of the change in direction would cause me to fall. never bad like when he got spooked. Maybe I wasnt' that great a rider those sudden change in direction to almost a gallop was what threw me off. yes, the woman felt awful and was nice. but it will never be the same, only way to make it perfect is to ready-send it to France have it taken apart and sprayed. so next best is taping around the nick and spray painting that and hoping to get a good color match. it plays perfectly, it's carbon fiber. funny, i checked the strings and levers and sound board so thought it was ok. only when I went back i saw it must have hit the music stand on the way down and got scratched. what can you do. thank goodness it's fine structurally. LIBBY-so is the kitchen done? BETH-any more orders? how's the new minister?
waving to all. HAGD

Good Morning All- Rain (again) cool - yesterday I wore a sweatshirt to the barn! DH & I went to see The Big Sick -very good movie -true story- Made zucchini parm last night -making zucchini breads today with 4 huge zucchini's I got from the barn garden.
Amy -ducking out -not fun -especially if you wind up zigging while he zags!
Faye - so sorry about the harp-but as you say at least it is only (I don't mean that to be minor) appearance and not structural. Is it something that most likely only you will notice once it's repaired?
Dutch- would you feel comfortable asking the daycare about the food situation? or maybe send some veggies in a baggie (although I'm guessing you are paying enough that you shouldn't have to send food!)
Waving to Beth, Cathy & Libby -hope you are all good

Hi horse lovers, Dutch; I put a comment on your post Barb; love zucchini bread! yum! Beth; you've been quiet lately or have I missed your posts? Cathy; glad kitty is OK, no poop for a week is a concern! Glad you made it thru your walk! Faye; I got the pilates dvd yesterday, tried the basic workout this morning. I can tell I'm going to be sore! Hope they can do a good job repairing the harp, I know it will never be the same ;( Amy; I'm always starting projects lol - it's finishing them that's my issue I rode both horses last night, backed them both up a nice little hill in the field- I don't think I've done that before, was told it's a great way to build those butt muscles! They were both very good, had lots of energy and neither even broke a sweat (it was 77 degrees at 8:00 pm when I rode). I guess that's a good way to start exercising regularly. For me also, I posted to the trot for 10 minutes on each of them. DH timed it for me lol The kitchen: still need the broom closet painted and shelves put back in (may be today?), the guys are on week 2 of a 6-week job before they come back and finish my floor ;( DH and I will paint and put up the trim around the 3 windows and French doors. He is picking up the wood this week. Then there is the barn door I wanted between the kitchen and laundry room That's another project lol Working on my Rose & blueberry garden 1/2 hr. each morning, maybe I can get it looking better, it really got bad looking! I didn't plant any veggies this year ;( Was asked to work in the kitchen at the barrels tonight, since dgd is at camp, I go help out. HAGD everyone!

Hi, all, either my laptop or this website is slow... Faye, is the woman paying for the shipping to get the harp fixed, or the whole thing? I mentioned to you about the harp for sale; I talked to my teacher and she said this guy used to busk outdoors in all types of weather, so to be sure to check the exterior of the harp. I don't mind a few nicks/scratches but I don't want big dents, pieces missing etc. Libby, wow..that's a long wait to get the floors done. Were you and DH always going to do the window trim and broom closet or is it something you just don't want to wait for? Have fun at the barrel races!! Barb, I want to see The Big Sick, it's looks charming! Glad you enjoyed it. I had sweatpants on last night, cooled off here too! Dutch, yes, sorry about the food issues. I hope it can be resolved...hopefully DS is just focusing on a few things and he's not really watching movies all day Beth, how are you? Is DH all mended now, ready for school Amy, did you get the steps done on the stairs, the "middle" part? Went to the vet to pick up prescription cat food that I know she won't want. Stopped at feed store to look for "senior" cat food with low protein, they didn't have many. This is going to be difficult for sure. Also had harp lesson...Faye, you'll like this...I told teacher about our Sunday session and she gave me a couple more songs that she'll give the others. She also said someone asked her about a "free" gig in October (she'll be gone by then) and thought maybe our little quartet could do it! I laughed, thinking that was even a possibility but she was really positive about it, so we'll see Swim today, I hope. Cathy

LIBBY-i read your posts and wonder how you have the hours in a day to do all you do. Glad you rode, and the kitchen and the other projects and DGD--PHEW- and hope you like the DVD. CATHY-oh, then I'd be careful if in all weather. ask your teacher if she thinks it affects the glue or soundboard. harps don't like big changes in temp. Once you hear how he used it, you might even want to contact dusty Strings and see if they think it's ok. well, what kind of gig? sounds fun. could be interesting. you've been in public so depends what it is and how long etc. Remember the gig I did before Somerset, in town--they want me once a month so I have a recurring gig and they are so nice. so very happy harp does not need to be shipped. we'll drive it over to brooklyn to the tech. been to her before, it's LIza who was at Somerset. she's the International Camac technician so if anyone can fix it, she's it. Sorry getting cat food is so hard. BARB-humid but cooler here. wore a coat! they say rain Friday i think. It's been really wet. have you ridden much. does it bother Penny's hooves? hair came out nice. hope everyone is having a good day

Good afternoon. It's been so hot and humid here. Most days the heat index is over 100+. Yes I'm still walking in the morning. I'm usually drippy sweaty hot when I get home. I pick in the garden early otherwise it's too hot. Getting a bumper crop of cucumbers. I took two plastic grocery bags full of them to church Sunday and got rid of all of the ones I picked. Gave DM a bag this morning. Bad news. We saw another groundhog in the front yard today. Hope it doesn't try to eat the garden or we'll have to try to trap it and eliminate it like we did the one last year. DH is doing really well with his leg. Still sore at times but mostly well. Trying to keep cool here. School will be starting on Aug. 8th. Too soon for me.

Dutch- would you feel comfortable asking the daycare about the food situation? or maybe send some veggies in a baggie (although I'm guessing you are paying enough that you shouldn't have to send food!) I do.. and did! I'm an over communicator :/ lol She's open to more fruits - and has started! (win). Can NOT send food to most daycares due to allergies - no joke. So that was an automatic no. I'll keep working with her. For the pre-k stuff- she is really great with DS, so I need to find a balance. Say, some of you are moms.... 4yrs old too soon for no naps? He's testing her... she's letting him will. He's not awful at night, but on no nap days he is yawning when i pick him up. I'm picking my battles..... On that note... Hug your loved ones. My best friend just was diagnosed w/ stomach and bone cancer - not good. I may be sparse around here for a while.

Hi all, Disappointed with my eating trying again today. Dutch- when my son started giving up naps around age 3 1/2,or 4 years old I used to have him lay in bed quietly for 10 min. I told him I would be back in 10 min. and if he was asleep well that meant that he needed some rest. If he was awake then he could come back out of his room and play quietly because it was his twin sister's nap time. I really did come back in 10 min. though so he trusted this system. For the fist few months of this he would fall asleep about 1/2 the time. Eventually when he did not fall asleep anymore we skipped the 10 min. in bed but it was still "quiet time". I think he enjoyed the break from the twin 2 year olds so he played quietly when they napped. HA! Faye- how great that you have a regular gig now. Before you know it you will be telling us about your recording contract! Beth- Aug. 8th does feel like an early start to the school year. Good for you with your dedication to walking no matter what the weather. Cathy- If you want to start playing gigs then starting with a group is probably a good way to get your "feet wet". Libby- I am with you on the excitement of starting a new project. It is when you get bogged down in the boring details that it gets hard. These steps are the first thing you see when you open the front door so that is a good motivator. I should be finished my part today or tomorrow. Last coat of varnish today and then after I take the tape off I need to do touch ups on the painted parts. I am going to call the carpet place today and check on my order. I did not want to call them about it until I was actually ready for it. The weather broke yesterday and we actually had great riding weather yesterday just in time for my lesson. The lesson was fun. Trainer put the jumps up a little. No refusals from Lukas, I think he was just tired of the heat the other day. temperatures should be below average again today so I will be riding again, who knows how long this will last. Barb- So glad the show went well. Maybe because there were not a lot of vendors it is easier for people to buy. I know when I am at an art show I hold off on buying sometimes because I haven't seen what everybody has to offer. DH and I bought a pottery bowl last week at a little shop that featured several local artists. We liked it and there was not a bunch of other booths to look at first like there is at a big art show. Since we were on staycation we called it our souvenir. HAGD Amy

Good morning DUTCH-so very sorry to hear about your best friend.not easy. hope there is something they can do. glad about DS and preschool and the fruit. Yes, allergies really can be something in a school. AMY-glad about the weather and the lesson. Thanks. I 'm excited about the gig. She got good feedback and I start end of August. I'll actually be there the day before for the Independent living area for a Medieval thru Modern concert. so glad it's about 10 min. away.
BARB-read about the tent. pretty funny. glad the show went well and you had helpers with the setup. BETH-sorry about the groundhog. weather finally broke here today but lots of rain supposedly for Fri. can you freeze chopped cucumber? i like that in salad? LIBBY-hope you are not too sore from the DVD. did you like the exercise? CATHY- great about playing at a gig. do you want to? what kind is it and for how long. I started out as background for things like Girl scout dinners (sort of the preshow when they do their tricky trays etc.) good luck
waving to all. HAGD off to harp lesson then the mall to replace the charger, never found it

Hi Ladies, I'd love to join you guys. I think I used to post on the old WW board years ago. My name is Julie and I owned a horse for 13 years and he passed away on May 28, 2013. I was without a horse for a while, but started lease a fantastic Hanoverian (17.2H - JD) in March of 2015 and I am blessed to have him in my life. He is a dressage pony :-). During my horse hiatus, I learned how to quilt and now I can also call myself a quilter.
Thanks for letting me join in and I can't wait to get connected to you all. Horses are very special animals and so are the people the love them.

Good morning. Went to the Farmers market and got 35 lbs of purple hull peas. DH is shelling them now. I only walked 2 1/2 miles today. It's so hot and humid at 6am. It was 76 this morning. Welcome sewsojulie. I had horses for over 40 years until my last two got so old and had to be put down almost 2 years ago. I used to own, train, breed and show Racking Horses which are very similar to Tennessee Walking Horses. I live in the Heart of Dixie (Alabama).

Good Morning - And Welcome Julie (is that your "name?") Yes a 17.2H "pony! haha -We are a diverse group in our horse endeavors -I currently have a 21 yr old dbl reg pinto/paint -(with no color!) i have had her for 4 yrs now -prior to her I had a morgan I had for 20 yrs - put him down at 34 ! I just trail ride now (english) but in my past horse lives showed H/j & dressage. I am a retired insurance agt -live w/ DH in NH -board my mare at a semi-rough board 1.5 miles from my house -right on conservation trails -so very convenient (except in bad weather!) In my none horse time I do fused glass. I am sure that the others here will introduce themselves as well - some of us came over from WW & have been together for a long time! (7 or 8 years?) Where do you live? Love that you quilt -I have a friend who does that -they are beautiful pieces of work!
Dutch- not surprised about the food ban -my barn mate is the director of a pre school and the list of foods that they can't serve is amazing -avocados? who feeds 3 yr old avocados? Hope things get better - sorry about your friend -she is lucky to have you.
Beth - we dont' have groundhogs -but chipmunks -they are everywhere -digging holes in lawn, walkway thru the rocks -run into my garage if door is open -really annoying!
We are heading up to Maine to see a play this afternoon with friends -of course this is the first nice riding day of the week -hope I can get a ride in tomorrow -weather looking iffy!

Hi,all! Faye, great that you just have to drive the harp to Lisa in Brooklyn...I thought you had to ship it to France! And way to go on the repeat gig!! That is wonderful (and close!)! The gig my teacher is talking about is just for an hour, at a museum (she said there's lots of room). I think it's some sort of fund raising function. More info to come...I'm almost 2nd thinking about that harp for sale. I guess I'll just wait until he's back and will deal with it then (he's got some youtube videos with other muscisians). Beth, glad you're still walking! I hope the groundhog finds somewhere else to eat! What do you do with 35lbs of peas? Freeze? Make soup? Dutch, OK, so being an overcommunicator can have it's benefits Glad you're at least working through things with the daycare. So sorry about your BF...that is a hard road. Amy, I LOVE finally taking off the tape, it means you're so close to being done! Glad you had a good lesson, helps with cooler weather, huh? Barb, I hear you about pet food costs. I've heard that the "prescription" pet food isn't even any better, just more $$$. A friend buys hers on Chewy.com, cheaper there. Hi to Libby! Are you exhausted???!?! Julie, nice to have you back! And congrats on the WL! (I'm Spike Jones on FB, I get to see your posts on quilts...my mom got back into doing quilts a couple of years ago - she and I took a class probably 30 years ago and kind of dropped it. She's finishing a quilt I started probably 10 years ago Had a horse, leased a horse, now horseless for quite a while...money needed elsewhere. Got in a nice swim yesterday until feet cramped. My brother gave me swimming paddles (?) for my hands, kind of helps with the stroke, just started using them so can feel it in my back. Was added to a new project at work - yay! Hope that it turns into more work, but have to do training...and yes, need to get certification on the other job aspect so will be working on that for the next couple of weeks. Cathy

Hi horse lovers, Welcome Julie, I have 2 bay QH's, 17 and 18 years old. I play around with dressage, love to trail ride and my dgd just took up barrel racing on the 17 yo retired roping horse. My horses literally live in my backyard. My dh built an outdoor arena for me to ride in. I live on a small 1.5 acres farm that is getting closed in on by city! I love to quilt, haven't done it in years. Faye; I am sore everywhere from the basic pilate dvd and went ahead and did it again this morning. It's really different for me as I like Zumba and dancing type exercise, yet with my feet problems I need to change it up! My whole abdomen up to my rib cage feels bruised lol! Cathy: it's really hard to find special food for the animals! Sorry your having a challenge, some people make their own..... Beth; we don't have groundhogs either, moles put molehills all over yards/gardens around here, now it's illegal to trap them-go figure! Barb; enjoy the play, hope you get to ride tomorrow Dutch; hope things settle in the right way at the childcare, sorry about your friend! Amy; my whole place seems to be a project! Older home. I've just decided "whatever" when it gets done it gets done! Was cooking in a 102 degree kitchen for the barrel racing last evening. The regular cook showed up at 6:30 and I let him take over! I was on a learning curve as I hadn't used that big grill before! Met two new members who helped out in the kitchen, was fun. DH and I were sitting outside in front yard and older black lady, well kept and dressed with dementia was trying to communicate from across the street. I tried to help her, she was obviously lost knew her name and that was about it. I called 911 and a little while later they had 2 police cars and an aid car there helping her. She had roamed up the street a bit, so I never did know what happened. It was weird, she was scared that my husband was going to slap her, so I didn't have her come sit with us. I wonder if someone had been abusing her? So sad HAGD everyone!
