Good morning-
from last night:
CATHY-hope you have a nice dinner with your parents. hope yesterday's hike was nice
BETH-so sorry about the groomer.
AMY-never heard of that company but the mirror cloth thing sounds interesting. I'll have to take a look. HOpe the show went well. She took about 4 snips and didn't charge me and it looks great. I go back in 2 weeks which will be perfect. She's so sweet. and my neighbor was there too so we chatted for a long time.
BARB-did you buy anything in Cuba? the cars looked so great. did you have a show today? i think DH was helping set up the tent but may have the wrong day
LIBBY-loved the video. miss the sound of horses walking and trotting etc. and grazing. that was always the best.
DUTCH-waving
did some stuff at the mall. yesterday did some weeding. very few butterflies this year, sad not to see them.
Next weekend is my birthday weekend atDD and looking forward to the weekend in the city and the show WarPaint.

Good morning -Faye- show is this coming weekend - and yes, DH said he would help set up -I'm watching the weather and not looking good -talking rain Friday (set up) and some maybe Saturday -show goes on rain or shine -setting up in rain is NOT fun -going to be a trying afternoon I am sure! We really didn't buy anything - bottle of rum & some coffee and a small painting from a street artist. We have been buying a painting from local artists the last few cruises -didn't need another t-shirt etc!
Amy- how was your show?
Finally caught up on stuff at the house - riding today with neighbor up the street and on Wed my friend is trucking in (the one I rode with last month) so I will be busy riding. Dee is away so I am on cleaning all week -horses still have the drools -so it's messy!
Waving to Cathy, Libby, Dutch , Beth & Julie - hope you all had a good weekend -HAGD - ride if you can -TTFN

Hi All,
tracking has been sketchy, trying to get back to it today.
The show had pretty good weather for August, a little humid but the sun kept going behind clouds which made it nicer. I did OK, Lukas was a very good boy. I know I can ride so much better, I think nerves got the best of me this time. I wish I could do it over today. Oh well, this was only the second time at this level. It seems like every time I move up it takes me a few times showing at the new level to "settle in". Lukas was super though so I am very happy with him. New show coat worked well. Beth- what happened with the groomer? I missed something.
Barb- you make a lot of interesting and pretty glass. I hope the show goes well, and DH doesn't grumble too much about tent installation.
Faye- Those sound like great birthday plans!
Cathy- did the pool feel and look a lot cleaner?
Dutch- Hope all is well with you and yours.
Libby- I just want to say I loved your horses long manes! I would love to brush them!
It was a long day at the show yesterday. Lukas gets the day off which means I am getting housework done. I am also thinking of replacing the front porch flowers with mums if the nursery has any yet. My flowers by the door look "played out".
New clothes washer works so nicely, I don't even mind doing laundry, I am sure that feeling will wear off! LOL

Hi horse lovers, Had a great weekend, relaxing, horses were awesome on the trails. DH hasn't ridden in a long time, was glad he had fun and went with me Faye; how exciting for this coming weekend! Barb; you are getting a lot of riding in this week Late summer, early fall is always my favorite time to ride Beth; I must go back and read about the groomer? Amy; you continue to challenge yourself with your showing, nice that your always moving forward with that! I saw some mum at the store yesterday, fall colors The girls both have long manes, Lucy has fuller mane and tail than Rosie. I only cut their bridle paths. I would love a new washer! so glad you like yours Cathy; I'll have to read back posts and see how your doing. Dutch; we are finally getting a break in the 90 degree weather streak! It's going to be 70's and 80's this week- it rained at night on Saturday which helped with the smoke-dh and I are both coughing in the mornings Wave to Julie Dh will be busy with the new van this morning doing is vehicle bonding and going to the dealer to check into warranty and a few other things. It's a nice vehicle. Nothing fancy. The first time I drove it I told dh- I'm not selling my car! which was the initial plan to pay down the loan on the new van. It felt like I was driving a bus! Beth- your dh would know what I'm talking about! Dh said I don't have to sell my car lol I'm beginning to the kitchen project will never be done! The workers just aren't available, working 6 days a week on other jobs. It's testing my patience. Still don't have new floor in, molding around door, window and the outside boards need to be replaced and painted. Went to my friend's daughters memorial barrel race yesterday. Some of you may remember that her daughter, Melanie got in a horse crash and was paralyzed, then 3 years later died suddenly of a blood clot. The saddle club has a benefit race every year for her. The turn out was outstanding! Lot's of horse stuff to bid on in silent auction and then the race. All the money goes to a therapy place that really helped Melanie during her recovery. I'm waiting for a phone call to see if I won anything in the bidding HAGD/R everyone!

Hi, all! Barb, glad you had a wonderful time on holiday! Love the photos of the cars, they are fun...so colorful! I love that you gave leave for DH to grumble but no tantrums...my chuckle for the day. Hope you have lots of fun riding this week! Faye, what do you think is wrong with the butterflies? They say that bees are having a hard time, loss of habitat, viruses, etc. Wonder if butterflies have the same issues. Beth, glad you clarified about Coco and the groomer...I thought Coco had breast cancer! But so sad about the groomer. My ex Sister ILs mom has bad cancer. She had breast cancer a few years ago and apparently it's metastasized to her lungs and possibly bones. They are waiting on final reports from tests. She's in hospital on serious pain meds. It seems as if she doesn't have long to go. Very sad... Libby, so glad you had a good time riding/camping this weekend. Loved the video of DH on a horse...seemed like he was happy to be there! Which horse is his? Bummer about the kitchen...so annoying when the job doesn't get done, seems like it's an issue with the contractor. I hope that isn't Son-in law? Amy, hey, sounds like you did well! It's always a challenge to move up a level, but that's why we do it, so we can get better/stronger! Glad you're happy with Lukas' performance. Don't you love new appliances?!!?! Happy laundering! Hi to Dutch and Julie! Watercolor teacher had a few suggestions so still working on painting. I kind of think I'm done but have it sitting against the wall, just contemplating it for a bit. Hiking was nice, fun to see friends, but foot is problematic. Will get an appointment with podiatrist again to see what's next. Got to the senior cat seminar, but had to leave as it was running over. It did kind of become everyone's personal visit to the vet, w/o having to pay so it was hard for her to get through all the info. Couple of websites to check out, but not much new info. Then had dinner at parents. Niece is working for a construction company as an admin. Got the job through her mom's church, so it's probably a temporary thing (I hope). I asked if anyone was speaker German (her minor) and she said no, but there's lots of Spanish (it's San Jose, so that's expected ). No swimming this week, the pool is out of service the entire week. Today will be housecleaning, like Amy, since I didn't get it done this weekend. Cathy

Forgot to tell you my favorite quote from the horse show. I heard someone say "I don't think I could ever give up riding because then I would have to find normal friends." LOL

Good afternoon. So hot and humid. The rain cooled things down a bit but then the sun started shining again and it is humid again. Found out today that Bible Study starts back Wed 23rd. We're studying the book of Matthew which is the first book in the new testament of the Bible.

I didn't outbid anyone at the auction, darn, there was some cute stuff there! Just did pilates dvd and now got to feed horses, get ds up - jump in shower and go to the childcare site. They have a 4 yo starting today with type1 diabetes. needs finger pricks and injections with every meal. Staff is stepping up to the plate to learn how to care for the child. This afternoon sanding the hot tub deck - something went really wrong with the topcoat I put on it last summer, it's all peeling. Need to talk to Sherman-Williams before recoating it, I'm not a happy camper! HAGR everyone

LIBBY-sorry about the topcoat peeling. hope it's an easy fix (I'll guess not, unfortunately). sad about the reason for the fundraiser. HOpe you can get in touch with the contractors and get the kitchen finished off. AMY-Sorry you lost the post. good luck with the party tonight. any more shows coming up? what about that Champion show? CATHY-no idea about the butterflies. sad. I saw her yesterday. but I used to get 3 at a time and different ones. Sorry about your foot bothering you. hope you don't need surgery. hope the pool will get clean and stay that way. Does your niece like the job at least? BARB-good luck next weekend. do you have all your inventory ready?
tracking today, some really off days and scale shows it. Waving to Dutch, Julie, and Beth

Eye exam today. Was going to take the whole day off but there's a meeting in a few minutes that I can get through before having to leave so I'll get through that first. It will be interesting to see if the my old optometrist agrees with the lenses I have now or doesn't see the need.
Have a good day, everyone!

Cathy- hope the dr appt goes well - even after all i went thru with my exam last month -and bought a year's worth of lenses -I'm still not happy with my vision -I know it's never going to be perfect...but!
Libby -that stinks about the topcoat -I would think it would last more than a year -good luck
Amy -I didn't see -how did you do at the show?
Faye - isn't your France trip coming up soon? How is your french coming along?
Beth- is DH ready to start school again -you said it starts pretty soon? i found it interesting that they assign seats on the bus (perhaps they do that here and I just don't know it!)
Dutch -when does DS start school vs camp/daycare? is it full day? Any more training done on Ally?
Saw that Julie was on vacation -hope she comes back here when she's home -
I am pretty much all organized for the show -we set up Friday afternoon -DH will help me set up the tent & put up sides -set up tables -I store all the glass in bins under the tables (they have security) and then Sat morning I will go and set up the tables & shelves. they are predicting " 50% chance of showers" so that means also 50% chance of no showers and at least they are saying showers not rain -setting up a tent in either really stinks (especially with a not so happy DH!)
Enjoy your evenings -

Good evening. DH and I went and bought a new mattress/base set (they don't call them box springs now) It's an iSerta brand hybrid type of mattress. It will be delivered on the 22nd. Beth- is DH ready to start school again -you said it starts pretty soon? i found it interesting that they assign seats on the bus (perhaps they do that here and I just don't know it!) School started last week on the 8th. He assigns seats because he has the elementary kids and finds it cuts down on a lot of problems. With all the heat here my garden is only producing pole beans and tomatoes right now. Everything else kind of died.

Hi horse lovers, Amy; like your quote! Beth; assigning seats sounds like a great idea! I know when my kids where young I always had the oldest in front and the rest had to fend for themselves. It was safer and then I didn't have to listen to them argue about who had "shotgun" lol Faye; your trip to France sounds lovely Cathy; what did your eye doc think? Dutch; sorry your swamped at work-glad the heat has lightened up! Barb; have fun at the sale sell lots of stuff! Dh is cranky? lol A little f/u for work this morning, the child was so sweet and independent! Then back to the deck sanding, dh had it almost done by the time I got home. Then he had to leave and help the neighbors with his tractor. I hate to say it-- the guys brother who started the homeless encampment behind our pasture is back! He has 2 big tents set up and has a women with him (not his wife). The neighbors and I have been calling the police almost daily. He must have gotten out of jail. I really don't want to deal with this anymore! Depressing! The man from code enforcement that was the most helpful, isn't working in code enforcement any more The property is for sale, really expensive for where it is, so we're not going to buy it. I'm up 4 lbs. this summer I did not watch what I ate most days - I really need to get back to tracking!!! Today is a new day for tracking HAGD everyone!

HI all - Libby -so sorry about the encampment -sad that it is hard to get anyone to do anything permanent.
Yes, have to tread lightly w/ DH & shows -since they are predicting rain/showers on Friday (Set up) I quietly asked if we can pack the car so that the tent comes out first -we can set it up then bring the rest -we normally would take everything out of car then set up tent. he said he had been thinking the same thing -and that maybe he could fit the tent in his car & take 2 cars (this show is in our town -5 miles from home) so when I got back from the barn he had the tent & sides in his car -that will ease a lot of packing my car & set up!
My (young!) friend trucked in again today -we did about 5 miles -mostly walking some trotting (she says her horse gets competitive at canter w/ others and would rather just trot -FINE with me!) she lives about 25 mins away -we were out for about 1 1/2 hours -the bugs have been very co-operative this year -not too bad -she asked if she could come back next week! Yes!
Faye- keep practicing -Oct will be here before you know it! Enjoy your duets!
Dutch -sorry about crazy work stuff -hope it slows down for you soon.
Beth - sorry about the garden - our tomatoes mostly still green -except for the cherry's -guess we'll have tomatoes till October!
Cathy -hope you get a swim in -

BARB-glad you got to ride and had a friend along. LIBBY-so sorry about the encampment! BETH-hope you are enjoying what's left of your crop. HOpe DH likes this year's route. ARe you looking forward to Bible study? I won't be going back, didn't have topics that interested me and the time didn't work for me anymore. CATHY-so how was the eye dr? AMY-is DH looking for a new dentist to work at the office? DUTCH-hope things are n't too hectic

Hi, all! Faye, glad the duets and harp lesson went well! Bummer that studying for you had nothing of interest. Beth, sorry about the loss of crops. You did have quite a run there for a while! New matresses are exciting...hope it works out for you. Barb, how nice that your friend came in for a ride (is this the one with the organic farm?). Sounds like DH is being thoughtful (and not as cranky) and expectations for this weekend are good Libby, ah, bummer about the guy back with his tents. I hope you get someone to clear them out again. Can you just bid on the land and see what the owner says? If it's priced too high, they probably just aren't willing to sell..yet! Dutch, urg...sorry about all the work. Mine is picking up as well (after not having enough for a couple of years!). Hi to Amy! Eye exam was fine, nice to be back with a good office. They even adjusted my existing glasses to fit better (something the other office never bothered with). I am getting new, thinner lenses and using old frames since I can only buy every 2 years. Still was expensive, but at least I know they'll be more comfortable. Hoping to walk today (pool still closed) but lots of start ups on 2 new contracts so may walk later than usual. Kind of grey today, sun not out at all. Cat was begging for food at 2 in the morning last night...loudly! Finally closed the bedroom door on her. Sometimes she's needs a major time out! Cathy

Hi all,
Not happy with all that I ate yesterday but moving on.
My Norwex on line party was moved to next Tuesday. The consultant requested the move for scheduling reasons and I was fine with it. I have been using the samples she sent me with very good results.
I went into the office yesterday so my riding lesson was moved to this morning.
My DH 2 college buddies are coming for their yearly visit. He loves this tradition. They play in a golf tournament together and then spend the night. I make a nice breakfast in the morning. I do have to get the house ready and make the guest beds but since it is guys they won't notice much so I won't go too crazy. LOL.
I have to get ready for my lesson.

Tracking: yes! Hi horse lovers, The community officer says she can't go on the property w/o permission-the owner lives in CA and is unresponsive. This stinks! The land is on a protected creek, so no building or livestock any closer than 100', my property starts about 140', so there is only about 40' useable property. The taxes are really high also ;( If I was still working full time, I'd consider buying it, low balling his price. I've seen a few people looking at it, I hope it sells to someone responsible! Was going to paint the deck this morning, Sherman Williams gave us 50% off the stain because of the problem-said the wood must have had a problem. The area that was covered has no peeling, it's just the weathered/uncovered area that peeled. Anyways, it rained last night-I didn't see it in the forecast-so it's all wet out there! Going to dinner tonight with our snowbird friends that I've known since I was a kid Mexican, so I'll have to count those chips out and put them on my napkin so I don't over do it! The raccoons have been coming up to the front porch and eating the cats food at night. I keep forgetting to pull it in! Cathy; I hope your dr. can help with your foot-I have to wait till the end of the month to get injections in mine again. I'm in pain everyday ;( I'm wondering if I should get another opinion? He pretty much told me he can't do anything for high arches. Faye; I saw a couple of butterflies yesterday and thought of you. We don't ever get very many, do you plant to attract them? Beth; Do you freeze or can your pole beans and tomato's? Barb; so wonderful to have someone to ride with, I'm missing that. nice that dh had the car packed up Amy; hope you are having a good lesson Wave to Dutch and Julie

Hi, all! Amy, have a good lesson. Yeah, if guys are staying over, they won't notice whether things are super-clean or not Libby, bummer about the land. It sounds like a difficult place to build, like you'd have to have an engineer come out to see about drainage etc. If it's protected, that's even harder. No wonder people use it as a free spot to squat. Have a fun dinner! That's an interested idea, putting the chips on a napkin so you know how many you can have! Hope everyone else is having a good day! Didn't get to walk...had another meeting in the afternoon. I'm one of those people that sets a time for exercise and if I miss my window, I tend to find excuses not to go...yesterday I COULD have gone for a walk, but chose not to. At least I stayed within my calorie allotment. I'm going to walk this morning so that I get something in today! Tonight I'm going to a play with friends. I guess it's an outdoor theatre, so have to bring warm clothes (it's been chilly at night lately). It sounds as if it's "13 Steps" but instead of it being a who-dun-it, it's been turned into a bit of a comedy. And 5 people play all the parts. It will be interesting if nothing else. Cathy

CATHY-enjoy the play. are the glasses better now that they are adjusted? so the Rx was correct? LIBBY-sorry about the land behind you. very frustrating. I plant milk thistle and butterfly bushes (buddelia) and one other that I forget the name of . Someone said they like parsley but I don't have that. they like the butterfly bush. and they are pretty and bloom later in the summer. Enjoy dinner with the snowbirds AMY-have a good dinner with DH's friends BARB-ok, it's this weekend. have a good show
waving to Dutch and Julie and ATF. Have a good day.
