Good morning-
From last night
BARB-so glad DS and DDIL are ok. please keep us posted on that. the photos are just horrible so very sad. I just donated to the Red Cross. Yes, I had a Medieval thru Modern gig this afternoon. large crowd and very nice. had a good time. they seemed to enjoy it. I go back tomorrow for another area of the facility. Today was the independent living. Got to pet the therapy dog that came to visit. He was sweet. sorry to hear of the graffiti on the trail. don't people have anything better to do than destroy things?
CATHY-love the name of your group! Glad the tables sold. Hope you got to DN's dinner.
DUTCH-wow, 100% eclipse. bet it was something. didn't really get dark here. was it cold and dark? for how long? Hope your family will be ok in TX.
BETH-is there a season for cap orders? I mean, is there a season for shows? did you get steps for the bed? any issues finding sheets?
AMY-hope you rode. is DD having her dance test soon? i thought she was able to move it up sometime to fall.
LIBBY-glad you have a nice choice of boarding.
waving to all . HAGE

Hi All, I am having trouble posting so here I will try again.
Cathy- great on the quick sale of furniture. I LOVE your brother's painting and he needs to make a spot for it! Hope the foot problem can be resolved.
Beth- sounds like your gardening has really paid off this year. glad the umbrellas got done.
Libby- sounds like a nice boarding place and will be easier then finding a person for home. You should probably bring your brother out with you and introduce him if he is going to be visiting the horses.
Faye- glad your harp concert went so well! The harp player at our church played on Sunday during a meditation time. So beautiful and I thought of you and Cathy.
Barb- Glad you are getting some good ride time in. I rode Lukas "out" by himself on Friday because it was cool and the bugs were not too bad. We went further then ever and I thought about leaving the property to go to the trail head but thought that would be pushing it a little. He was being so good I thought why not just be happy with that success. Good riding out weather is on the way!
Dutch- you are a busy woman between DS, Ally, Work and berry wrangling. Sounds like Ally is really coming along nicely.
I have family in TX also but so far they are OK.
HAGD Amy

Good Morning - Faye - thanks for staying with us & keeping us together! Glad you gig went well -
Amy -that is great about taking Lukas out -you were wise to quit while it was calm -build on that and go further (or is that farther?) every time? I know I am so lucky that Penny will go out alone without a care in the world -and that she takes good care of me -as I've mentioned here -her "roomie" Skip -will not go alone -that would frustrate me - I have suggested she get a trainer in to help her but she says she can "do it"
Yes Libby -glad you have the horse situation worked out -when do you leave (it's not for a while right?)
DS is keeping me posted -they pumps he got are doing the trick -so far -today they are supposed to open levees but he thinks they will still be good -we are heading down there in 5 weeks -guessing we will still see some devastation
Off to the barn- ride alone today -then some errands -wavng to the gang -HAGD - ride if you can - CBL

Hi Again,
My Norwex party went really well, I am getting a lot of free product so hosting was well worth it. It is going to sound like a commercial but I am actually looking forward to changing the way I clean.
WW Is the same old story. Up and down the same pounds but at least it's not up and up. I really wish I could lose some new pounds but until I really focus it is not going to happen.
My DD1 Irish Dance certification test is the weekend of Halloween. I am helping her learn the 40 tunes she needs to know and be able to name. A lot of them sound very similar to me so it is not easy! She already knows the ones she dances a lot but some of them are seldom used. They seem to go in and out of popularity with the choreographers over the years.
The eclipse was interesting and the shoe box viewer I used worked surprisingly well. Made laundry day a lot more interesting. We only got about 75% I think?
Dutch- That is so cool that you saw 100%.
I wanted to do 2 posts since I have been losing them lately. I hope everyone has a great week.

BARB-glad DS is doing ok. very scary. I just donated to REd cross but can't imagine where all those people go. and how you clean up after it. very sad. and still going strong. AMY-40 tunes to name, wow. glad you enjoyed the harp. is the harpist part of your congregation or does the church hire her/him? Glad you stayed safe but also glad you ventured a little further. I agree with Barb. Glad the party went well.
just practiced my tunes for tonight. heading off to Pilates. HAGD

Life back to normal now! Brought the dgd home yesterday. Big accidents on the Freeway, 3 of them. So sad- a death in one of them. We took an alternate route and it was really pretty and relaxing. Have to go to the childcare center this morning. Then finish cleaning the old appliances and getting an ad in. It's going to be 90 degrees today, so probably won't ride. Barb; glad to hear your family is OK Amy; glad you didn't lose your post! Faye; nice that your gig went so well Wave to Cathy, Beth, Dutch and ATF

Ha...I posted on the old board! Hi, all! Faye, I didn't get to dinner...we played later and it's quite hot here right now (I know Libby and Dutch are dealing with it as well) and just didn't want to do the drive in the heat. I'm a weenie...Great that the gig went well...do you play different songs for different "departments"? Libby, glad you found some places. I know you worry about Rosie getting enough food; would you split them up? Put Rosie in one place and Lucy in the pasture place? Probably not, easier to have them both in the same place. I guess it might quiet down a bit now that DGDs are back home Dutch, I'm going to Maui. I like Weilea...the big hotel has a ginormous pool and they have activities. I got a rental car this time so want to drive over to Lahaina and hang out I also love Kauai, it's so pretty, but I like Oahu/Waikiki too...like to swim in the ocean there. Glad you got to see the eclipse! Sounds really cool! Barb, have fun with Tundra. You have Florida, the Keys, which I thought was really fun the one time I went...that's a long trip for us West-Coasters. Glad DS and family are doing OK! Hi to Beth and Amy (Glad the party went well! Wow...40 tunes!!!??! At music camp, they talked about knowing 5000 tunes so they could play in sessions. My mind hurts thinking about that much music. Might go to the Scottish Festival this weekend, always over Labor Day weekend). So, yeah, it's heating up again, so not much fun being in a car. I backed out of dinner, I felt bad but they didn't set it up so that everyone could attend; this is usually how it works, they set the date w/o asking if it works for me. I'm usually left out (wow....I did not mean for that to sound so petulant). It is what it is...I'm mostly over it Harp lesson late today, so I would like to get in a short walk if it's not too hot. Cathy

CATHY-enjoy the lesson. sorry about dinner. yeah, some relatives are like that. I try to play a lot of the same tunes but not all. Just in case the workers are at both, just for some variety. now that I'll be there every month I started a list so I don't do all the same. I have favorites and then new ones I work on. For holiday shows at libraries, etc I do the same show for the season! it only was an issue once when someone saw me at a library and wanted me for the senior center and it was the same show. So I watch out for that now. 5,000 tunes? I can't imagine. maybe he meant 500 which still is pretty amazing. sorry it's so hot. LIBBY-glad things are quieter. good luck at the childcare center and the ads. sad to hear about the accident BARB-hope your DS and his wife are still good with the pump. AMY-any new shows? I still can't imagine 40 songs. DUTCH-glad things are good. hope you get some Ally time even though you seem very busy. BETH-waving HAGD everyone. Pilates was great today, i was exhausted. she really gets me going and stretches me out after I have a harp show (she remembered!)- I feel taller after I leave. Oh, and I've been tracking the past several days and feel better and down a bit. I WI tomorrow so we'll see, I had gone up so we'll see what tomorrow brings.

Faye- good luck w/ WI! I am always impressed with your yoga, pilates, acupuncture etc! My goal is to start back to the Y/gym next month -once I can ride a bit later as it is cooler -I know i have to -it's just the getting to it!
Nice ride today -the bugs this year have really not been awful -there were some summers (Augusts) they were so bad I wouldn't even ride -this year they were just annoying -once or twice horrible! Don't know if that's an indicator for the winter!

Well last night was disturbing! DH and I were taking the garbage can to the road and I was looking at some Locus trees that were cut down 3 years ago and still have lots of sprouts coming up-I have to spray them 3x a year as they have big thorns in them and give the riding lawn mower flat tires! Anyways, DH told me to go in the house now! I was like, what? He said don't turn around. So, I headed to the house, then I heard the Russian guy (homeless encampment, drugs, theft, prostitution) with his loud voice, asking my dh what his problem was with him? I heard my dh say, "It's all in the police reports". I ran and got my cell phone to call 911 as he kept asking the question over and over and calling my DH a liar. Bless my dh, he held his cool and said, "are you harassing me"? then he said he won't talk to him and walked back into the house. We could hear him grumbling and talking to himself as he walked back to his driveway, where he was hanging out in a parked car all day. DH called the community officer and she pretty much said that there is nothing they can do. I'm so done with this drama!! DH is gone all day today to Portland, so he left me a loaded gun. I of course would never use it, I'd probably shoot myself in the foot lol I would like to take some self defense classes and women's gun safety class. On a happier note: I filled out the contract to board the girls, contacted my old vet out in that area and he is still practicing The gal is really nice, we've been texting back and forth, she said I'm a boarding barn dream boarder! lol Cathy; the girls have their own pastures w/large run in sheds. Lucy is way to mean to Rosie when food is involved and you know my Rosie is a skinny Minnie lol Sorry about the dinner, like you said some things just are what they are with family-take care of yourself! I got injections in my feet last week again, wow it hurt so much while it was happening and then for 2 days. Now it's pretty good Hope they find something they can work with after the MRI Faye; that is so cool that you have a monthly gig now! I'm still doing the DVD, got off track with the dgd's here, I really want to strengthen my core and I can work my foot exercises in after the DVD Barb; Yea, we are talking about driving out to AZ about the 12th or so of October. That will give me a little time to see how the girls settle in at the new place. Glad your getting to ride. We are headed to horse camp tomorrow for the weekend, so I should get a lot of riding time in. Some friends are meeting us up there and she doesn't really ride, yet is game to ride Lucy and she likes to drink wine-so we should have a good time Glad you son is OK, that is really scary I'm way too gabby this morning! Beth, Amy, Dutch HAGD!! I'd better go take care of the horses!

Libby - OMG! that is horrible and there is NOTHING that can be done? are you concerned about the house while you are gone -is anyone checking on it -that doesn't sound good -glad you are safe. Hope the girls do well at the barn- sounds like a good solution for all.
Rode this morning -doing some errands -then having dinner w/ friends for our maybe last lobster roll of the season?!
Gotta run - waving to the gang -ride if you can - HAGD

BARB-enjoy dinner LIBBY-that is awful and so scary. can't believe nothing can be done (well, unfortunately, I can believe it)-did you get a security system? any chance of a fence? Glad the girls found a nice place to board. WI not had great as I thought and today not tracking. Frustrating day, but after reading Libby's post, not complaining.(somehow unexpected traffic and other little things don't quite compare with needing to have a gun in the house.) Have a good day ladies. Waving to all

Hi Libby,
I am sure I am not the only one concerned about your situation. I took a gun course offered by a range and it was for women only too. I would definitely recommend having a professional instructor they will be very safety oriented and will take as much time as you need to understand an be more comfortable. Much better then the person who has "been around guns all their life". They forget to tell you things and expect a lot or end up doing stuff for you so you never really learn. I plan on taking "handgun II" this winter. I do try to go to the range and practice once every few months so I don't forget what I have learned.
I would suggest carrying a can of wasp spray with you when you are outside and keep it close by in the house. It is better then pepper spray because it shoots really far and is easier to aim. If you do actually hit someone in the face they may be blinded temporarily and will need to go to the hospital but you most likely won't kill them. I would try to retreat to the house first, the second you see someone on your property run to the house! If that is not an option and they are really coming at you it is important to have some sort of defense. I didn't come up with the wasp spray idea I heard it recently on the radio. Most likely the guy is just trying to be intimidating by coming over but hopefully nothing will happen. Just be very aware of your surroundings.
Be safe!

Hi, all! Libby! Yeah, what everyone says (and your DH is a hero!!). Please be safe...I like the wasp spray idea. I've used that stuff on wasps and it's really easy to aim. I am so sorry you have to go through this...nothing like stress at home to make everything icky. You have the cameras in the back, do you also have them in the front? I'd also go ABOVE the community officer you talked to because that just sounds like something she doesn't want to deal with. Good luck...keep us posted. Us and our feet, huh? Does your doc use the freezone stuff? That really works when he's giving the shot, I don't feel the injection, just the cold. Faye, sorry about WI. I didn't realize you were still going...or is it just your own tracking? Maybe it's muscle from all the pilates I bought an apple pie this week because I was craving a piece. Well, 1 piece turned into 2 and...you get the gist. I threw the rest out. And thanks for feedback on the MRI. I found out it's at 7:30 PM...so no napping for me. Barb, enjoy that last lobster roll! Hope things are still OK with DS and family in TX. Such heart-rending videos from there... Hi to Beth (any new orders?), Amy (how are lessons going?) and Dutch (hope you're getting Ally time!). It's hard to complain about anything after Libby's story Swam yesterday and it was nice. Busy, which is odd so late in the summer. I guess word is out on having clean water! Will walk today. Cathy

Cathy, you inspired me, booked Maui on our timeshare for September 2018 for my 60th birthday-my bd is in June, couldn't find a nice block of time on the timeshare till Sept. It will be 7 days in Kihei. Getting pretty frustrated with our timeshare, it's hard to book where you want when you want, even 13 months out! Amy; thanks for the advice, I haven't seen the guy since, I'm on guard when I'm outside. If he comes on the property, I'll get a restraining order-this is the guy I testified against in court last fall. We are going to horse camp tomorrow morning, bringing the guns, there is a shooting area up there and I will get some practice in. I'm not a gun type person, my dh grew up in Alaska where guns were part of life, he is a patient instructor-yet I will sign up for a class, last time I tried it was full. I just bought a bunch of Bee Spray yesterday for the nests on my eves. Faye: I trust your weigh in went well. The childcare center visit went good. There was a homeless couple sleeping in the playground area (it's at a church that serves homeless meals in the evening) So, I went out with the Family Support staff person and ran them off, checked to make sure the area was safe/cleaned up. They are putting up 6' fences with locks next week, right now they have 4 ft fence. I spent about two hours there. They do a good job with the children, always room for staff training/improvement! Dutch; it's been so hot it really slows me down, we are not used to 90 degrees for weeks! This has been some summer! Glad your doing well. The eclipse was great! we had about 97% here. Barb; yes, we have the outside cameras (we can access from our phones in AZ) and a security company/system in the house. The house one has been down for a bit as the wall the panel was on is gone. I told dh we need to get it back up! Still have one security camera inside the house that we can access from the phones it's pointed at the front door. They say most crooks use doors lol glad your getting to ride, it's still high 80's in the evening, so I haven't been riding. Beth; are you busy with your business again? my dgd started school today thinking of your dh and his bus! DS got a new power wheel chair yesterday, he has been waiting for months. It is so different that I took him to the mall and practiced a bit- I think some of you saw pictures on FB HAGD everyone, headed to horse camp tomorrow morning-not sure that I'll have service there, have a good labor day weekend!

LIBBY-have fun at horse camp. DS's photo looked great. Wishing DGD a good school year. WI -eh, but I'm back to tracking (well, up till noon now anyway. we'll see. BARB-I just do on line but I WI usually on Tues . i weight myself every day but use Tuesd. to compare. Same dumb 2 lbs. you know the drill. but need to lose 10-15. CATHY-I like early MRI appts. actually all appts I like early, less chance for them to back up and then wait .
waving to Dutch, Amy, Beth and ATF. Barre was great. we used the Bosu a lot and it was fun and I have one at one so will use it more for exercise than a step to get books on the bookcase LOL!

Hi All,
Trying to track.
Had a riding lesson today. first one in a while because trainer has been busy. It went really well and I am on a sort of "post lesson high" right now. Went to lunch with my lesson buddy who has school aged children so now we can have lunch after lessons with school back in session. She is so much fun!
I am taking a "new adult" Irish Dance class on Wednesday evenings starting tonight. We are going to learn Ceili (sp?)dances. they are group party dances. We also may learn 4 hands or 8 hands I am not sure. My daughter talked me into it, all those years of watching them dance but I never did it.
My Father in law turns 90 on Sept. 3rd. I have to get his gift to the post office today. He lives in Myrtle Beach. Super nice man.

Libby- eek!

Waves to all! Stay safe! Have great Labor day weekend!

Good morning! yes, yikes - end of August/summer! (Told Penny we can't use white saddle pads any more... you know - no white after Labor Day! )
Libby have fun at camp and be careful with those guns!
Amy - dance lessons sound interesting -I'm guessing they are a good aerobic workout!
Dutch -guess you will see the remnants of the flooding -we go to Houston 10/5 and there will still be some then as well.
Faye- yes, know the up 2 down 2 drill! - My "goal" is to get back to the Y after the holiday -start w/ 2x a week -it's not a lot but hopefully realistic!
Beth-are you doing any shows this fall? Garden just about done or does your season go longer than here? Are you getting any of Harvey? if so be careful
Cathy -Enjoy Hawaii -(how can you not?) I know you have said but when do you leave?
My friend is trucking in today to ride -then I have to take my car to the dealer -my display (backup camera, radio etc) went dark last night -can't change the radio channel -stuck on Sirius comedy!) Hope they can fix it without having to make an appointment.
Enjoy the day -

Hi, all! Faye, I still have my BOSU that you suggested after the broken ankle. It sits sadly neglected in the garage Libby, have fun this weekend! I'm sure the Russian has been scared off by your DH!! (Tell him he's my hero!) DS's pic was great! Have fun practicing with the guns! Barb, have a good ride with your friend today! Hawaii is last week in Sep. Amy, aren't post-lesson highs lovely! Better than drugs Glad you had a good one. We did a few of those dances at camp and I'm telling you, they are GOOD exercise and lots of fun. Is DH doing this with you? Dutch, I've never been in Corpus Cristi...I hope all your relatives are OK. Hi to Beth! Canning season is over? It's supposed to be in the 100's this weekend...even here on the coast, which is usually cooler. I was supposed to go inland to the Scottish Festival, where it could be 110's...not loving that so may just stay local and hope for the best. I was going to meet a HS chum there but honestly, it just doesn't seem fun when you're struggling to stay cool. We'll see. MRI is this evening...I honestly have to wear sweatpants, not my favorite public attire...it's the only thing that doesn't have a zipper/snaps on it. No metal I guess. But will try to swim this afternoon. Cathy

car was an easy fix - they "re-set" something? Said if it happens again to bring it back they will reset & order a whole new part -under warrantee ! Ride was nice we did 4.99 miles (!) in 1 hr 48 mins. mostly walking some trotting -no bugs!
