Thought I'd get this rolling with a poll. Wondering what kind of writing most of us do.

Since I work in government I don't do a lot of creative wring (some may differ in that opinion) but I took advanced writing workshops in college and loved writing short stories. I need to get into the rhythm again of writing something of my choosing everyday. I just hope I haven't lost all that creativity through years of technical writing. I think this will help keep me motivated.

Another thing to share; if anyone is a fan of podcasts, check out lThe Writer Files I really like the host's voice, plus I'm a sucker for anything that talks about process and habits.

I traditionally published a young adult novel several years ago-I am thinking about getting back into it- maybe self-pubbing this time.

Suby and others- do any of you use Jeff Goins 3-bucket technique?
It goes:
Fill your three buckets every day (or almost every day, or as often every week as you can)
- capture your ideas for writing as they strike you (someplace you can access them) - Write 500 words today, based on one of the ideas in your notes (character idea, essay idea, etc.) - then set it aside and edit/polish a 500-word piece you wrote previously to get it ready for use (blog post, scene in longer work, etc- doesn't have to remain 500 words)
and that's your daily work
I think I could do that-

Here's a resource for freewriting if anyone is interested. It can be used in conjunction with The Artists Way if you like.

Ha, I've been reading through the less traveled boards to see how things are going and am thinking I may like to join in here. I am working (very slowly) on a true crime book where I have a crossing with the murder victim about year before he is murdered.

suby, I just noticed this thread today. I know it's kind of died, but I want to start writing more, so if you're still interested in making this thread happen, I promise to participate.
