That is, when you click on the New button next to a thread title, it does not take you to the first unread post.
PLEASE DO NOT ANSWER THIS SURVEY UNLESS YOU HAVE THIS ISSUE OR HAVE HAD IT RECENTLY. It makes life more difficult to sift through a lot of "mine's fine" posts. If you have a different, unrelated issue, please start a different thread.
Please respond with the following: 1. Is it the Desktop or Mobile version of the site? 2. What operating system are you using? Please be as specific as possible, eg, "Windows 10" or "ioS 11" or "MacOS Sierra." If you are not sure how to figure this out, please ask. 3. What browser are you using, eg, Chrome, Safari, etc. If you know the specific version, great, if not, that's OK. 4. How long ago this problem started, if you remember.
Thanks!
OK, here is an update, so please no more reports needed. From Proboards:
"If they're using Google Chrome this is due to an update to the browser that's preventing our previous Javascript that controlled this from working. A task already exists to correct this wherever necessary, but the fix won't take place until our next code push."
But what about the mobile issue?
"Our developers' changes should fix the issue everywhere once the fix is pushed."

In Safari on my iPad. I've never seen a new button. Can you post a screenshot?

I had no idea the "new" button does that, so I've never clicked on it. I just thought it was a notification that there were new posts. Duh.

1. Desktop B) Windows 7 III: Chrome 61.0.3163.100 Four, the "new" button has taken me to the first post on the page where I last read for at least two or three days now. Thought it was just me until I saw your post(s).
ETA: I've also noticed when I click on a notification (e.g. when someone has liked my post), it does the same thing--takes me to the top of the page my post is in, rather than the post itself.

1. Mobile 2. iOS 10 3. Safari 4. For as long as I can remember but only in the political thread (which is weird). I cleared my cookies on This device and it seems to be better.

I had no idea either that the new button did this. Just tried it on both my iPhone (6s) and my home desktop computer, and it works. I'll be darned!

It's happening on my desktop at home. Windows 10, Chrome Version 61.0.3163.100.
It probably started about a week ago but not past last weekend I'm pretty sure.
I just checked this on Firefox and it works fine in that browser.

I am using this to report that I have had a lingering notification that I have an unread personal message for the last 24 hours or so, even though I have read all my personal messages. Using my Samsung S6 and am using the Samsung browser to access. NBD, just annoying and perhaps a side bug.

1. Is it the Desktop or Mobile version of the site?
Desktop
2. What operating system are you using? Please be as specific as possible, eg, "Windows 10" or "ioS 11" or "MacOS Sierra." If you are not sure how to figure this out, please ask.
Not sure. It's a Chromebook.
3. What browser are you using, eg, Chrome, Safari, etc. If you know the specific version, great, if not, that's OK.
Google Chrome
4. How long ago this problem started, if you remember.
Early Sept. I posted a thread Sept. 8 about it. I also reported the "Back to Top" under the settings button doesn't work anymore.

I would just dump my cache and cookies.

OK, here is an update, so please no more reports needed and I will update the initial post. From Proboards:
"If they're using Google Chrome this is due to an update to the browser that's preventing our previous Javascript that controlled this from working. A task already exists to correct this wherever necessary, but the fix won't take place until our next code push."

1. Is it the Desktop or Mobile version of the site? Desktop (Macbook laptop) 2. What operating system are you using? Please be as specific as possible, eg, "Windows 10" or "ioS 11" or "MacOS Sierra." If you are not sure how to figure this out, please ask. Mac OS Sierra, v10.12.6 3. What browser are you using, eg, Chrome, Safari, etc. If you know the specific version, great, if not, that's OK. I access Proboards interchangeably on both Chrome (Version 60.0.3112.113) and Safari (Version 11.0 [12604.1.38.1.7]). I use Chrome most of the time, but the same thing is happening when I use Safari. 4. How long ago this problem started, if you remember. Within the last couple of weeks. Something else I've noticed is that, for me, this seems to be happening exclusively when new comments are added to older, "dead" threads that were started anywhere between a week or two ago, on up to a few months ago. Instead of taking me to the first new comment, it always reverts all the way back to the original post on the first page, not to the top of the last page. ETA: Ooops . . . I hadn't refreshed the page, and just noticed that no more comments were necessary. Sorry 'bout that!
