Over 60 and Still Working/Sunday

Got my hair cut off really short yesterday. I've decided to see what it looks like without color over the next few months.

I bet that will be cooler for the summer, Michelynn.

I did next to nothing yesterday because I read 5 Days at Memorial all day for the book club.  The vibrations woke me up a lot last night, so I suspect I'll have a nap later. But I do have a few chores to do today. I'm going to cook baked chicken thighs for dinner -- see the recipe thread.

Good morning to everyone!

I think I've quit wearing my wig. Went out to dinner with friends on Wed without it and haven't had it on since. My hair is really super short, about an inch all over, but definitely growing. It isn't totally white, very soft and it is coming back in as curly as it was before.

My root canal that was started on Tuesday is interesting. There are times when that cheek feels almost like it does when the numbing stuff is wearing off but it isn't numb to the touch at all? Just weird!!

I spent some time at Michaels and Hobby Lobby yesterday. I can spend hours in either one of those, only spent $5 that I hadn't planned on. LOL!!!

Michelynn, I bet you'll like the short hair. As Maryenne said, definitely it will be much cooler. I've thought about getting mine cut short again, but my face is so round I hesitate thinking I might look like a pumpkin.

Today step-son, wife, and 4 month old grandson are coming, so I need to get ready for that. Since they're family I don't do anything special, but still there is always something to be done.

I took the dog out for a walk and fed her, but she is standing beside me with that “I want” look about her. I don’t know what she is after now.

I'm staying with one of my bffs in the twin cities so my big excitement for today is a Costco run.

Good evening all. We have had a busy few days. DS was at a building fire in 90+ heat and was one of six firefighters sent to the hospital for heat related health issues. They released him after three bags of IV fluids and he stayed home for the next shift. He is doing better and back at work tonight.
Michelynn, I bet the shorter hair will feel better in this heat! Mine is long enough that I can wear it up now.

I am settling in for an evening of reading and crossword puzzles. It's too hot to sit out on the deck!
Our dishwasher suddenly stopped working, so we are waiting for the repairman to come next week. Most of the time it's just the two of us, but weekends we have family in and out, so I have cracked out the fine paper plates! LOL
