I've made a few from the allrecipes and food TV sites. Now I want the GDT recs. Because...usually awesome.
I've used Guinness and red wine, thinking of continuing the trend. Maybe marsala this time.

I just buy the stew meat, whatever vegetables I want to use (carrots, onions, potatoes, green beans) and then the Campbell's slow cooker sauce for beef stew. Not exciting, I know. But it is fantastic...

I've got recipes for: Red wine & rosemary Guinness Red wine and dried fruit
Want any of those? No Marsala, though. I'm thinking that flavor isn't going to hold up well over a long simmer.

Ooh, I would like the red wine and dried fruit recipe, alfa. That sounds amazing. Actually, they all do.

I have been browning my stew beef in the instant pot, then adding carrots, onions, potatoes, garlic, beef stock, and a pack of beef stew seasoning. Cook in instant pot on stew setting (I have played with the consistency I want but don't have the recipe in front of me). When it is done, I add a slurry of cornstarch and water. Stir it in and let it sit a few minutes. This way has given me the best results for what I like. And it tastes really beefy

Brown the meat, then add one can of jellied cranberry sauce and one small jar of horseradish, then simmer! So delicious. Add carrots and potatoes towards the end.

sal the carbonnade a la Flamande that I've had in Belgium (hence the Flamande-Flemish) always has dried prunes in it. Interesting that your recipe doesn't, and mentions a lack of complexity. The prunes would provide that... I'm going back to look at alfa's recipe w dried fruit now.

Cool! I've never heard of dried fruit in stew. I hate the texture of cooked fruit and will probably end up picking them out but I really need to expand my horizons.
Gotta make my shopping list!

Thanks. It's going to be relatively cold and rainy next week so a beef stew may well end up on the dinner table.

This one has great depth of flavor and the aroma while cooking is amazing. It's Paleo and Whole30 compliant, but I have added more vegetables, including potatoes, and it's always a hit.

I add some diced fennel, a couple spoons of red currant jelly and a splash of sherry when I want to zing up beef stew. A little Coleman’s dry mustard also enhances the flavor.

I love seeing all the recipes, I definitely miss the Recipe Review board from the old WW Message Boards.
I'll request the mods move this thread to the Recipes board in a few more days, this one is definitely a keeper!

I love this one- it's lighter than a lot of beef stews.
Mediterranean Style Beef Stew
1 & ½ tsp olive oil 1& 1/2 lb stew beef, cut into 1 inch pieces 8 oz mushrooms, halved 2 cups carrot, cut diagonally 1&1/2 c onion, coarsely chopped 1&1/2 c celery, chopped 2 garlic cloves, minced 1&1/2 c water 1 c red wine ½ tsp dried thyme 1&1/4 tsp salt ¼ tsp coarsely ground black pepper 1 28 oz can whole tomatoes, undrained 2 bay leaves 1 2&1/4 oz can sliced ripe olives, drained (I add 2 cans. CH) 2 tbsp red wine vinegar ¼ c fresh parsley, minced
Heat oil in a large dutch oven. Add beef, cook until opaque. Remove from pan. Add mushrooms through garlic, cook 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add beef, and water through bay leaf, bring to boil. Cover & simmer 1 hour. Stir in olives & cook 30 more minutes until beef is tender. Discard bay leaves. Stir in vinegar & parsley.
Yield 6 servings (1&1/3c); 288 calories, 10.3 g fat, 5.7 g fiber, 584 mg sodium, 20.1 g carb (6 pts) I measured 10 1c servings (4pt each)

Too many choices! I am having trouble deciding between one of alfa's recipes and the greek stew. Definitely a FWP.
