Is it possible to post a photo from iCloud?

Hi--I can share photos from my online iCloud photo account--it creates a URL that you can copy and send, and anyone can link to. But, when I insert this URL using the "insert image" button on a post, nothing appears. I've scoured all the support info, but don't see anything specifically about iCloud. It seems like it should work--any ideas? Thanks

alphabetized, I don't know a lot about iCloud... maybe it's private and can't be shared this way?
