Hi Horse Lovers
Tracked yes I weighed myself this morning and I am up a tiny bit so I am going to try and have a good day and drink a bunch of water since my WI is tomorrow. Taking a salad for lunch into work.
I caught myself humming while I was cooking my egg this morning. I know in my mind that the horse arriving at the barn tomorrow may not work out but apparently my heart is very hopeful. This is the best mood I have been in since the day Rueben passed away.
Have to get to work, will stop by this evening to see what you all are up to.

I also bought a clip on purse to use when I'm riding. Cathy; sorry kitty is sick again! my dd's cat get uti's all the time. Faye; glad your gig went well Amy; love to hear about the horse Beth; I hope things pick up! Dutch; How is the filly? Chickadee; any riding? We are having are AZ snowbird friends over for a Hawaiian bar be que tonight. They are leaving next week. DH's sister and dh are leaving Alaska and they will be here for a few days next Tuesday.....seasonal changes lol

Hi, all! Faye, glad the gig went well. Sounds like lots of practicing will be in your future! Have my longer lesson tonight, will see if it flies by like the short lesson Beth, bummer that the entry rules changes after you paid all your money. Nice to know that next year you can come for just the weekend. Libby, yay! I guess...that the house sold. I know you wanted to keep it, but I hope the $$ lessens the pain! Amy, such exciting news about the new horse. It's nice that your happy about it, even if it doesn't work out it's keeping you busy! Thank you for the painting compliment Dutch, a least Ally has a place to play even if you're not available for scratchies! Barb, sounds like the trail riding is going well. Do you ever think of trying some lessons on Penny just for the heck of it? Or is there no one in your area? I guess that's what the trailering was for, getting to other barns. Got to swim yesterday. I was planning on walking today but it's quite windy...not sure I want to be out there in the wind (allergies). We'll see... Cathy

Libby- congrats on the house sale -hope it all goes well -I use a fanny pack when I ride -w/my phone in it -around my waist -had a arm/leg holder but didn't like the weight so went to the pack. I use a trail riding tracker-trimball outdoors to track my rides -it tracks the actual ride, then downloads to computer so you can see your rides, miles, times etc -really love it. I also have a dog tag attached to my saddle with Penny's name, the barn addrss, my name & home phone # in case we get separated on the trail! (Dr Foster & Smith does them w/free shipping if you order just dog tags) The good news is I have never needed it!
Cathy - yes -the trucking was part of the "lesson" while I really didn't have a formal lesson my friend would give me tips -since we are never going to show the ring work was just more for spring tune ups & for me to work on transitions etc. but for now that is off the table!
We did have a nice ride this morning - this is my fav time to ride - no bugs, not hot, not cold! we did 4.89 miles (from my tracker) in 55 minutes- trail to barn.
Went apple picking today- they are really small this year due to the dry weather & lots of drops on the ground. Apple crisps in my future!

I have a friend coming up today and will be with me in the booth. We go back over 30 years. DH is coming up tomorrow after he runs his morning route. He has a sub for the afternoon route. sorry my post is so small today. I'll be glad to get home Sunday.

Good morning,
Busy, busy, busy here. I've been reading to stay caught up with you all, but haven't had the chance to post. On Monday I had a great hack working on some of my more troublesome aspects in my lessons, then helped out with an OTTB who has bad cellulitis in his hind leg - cold hosing it, wrapping it, etc. Poor thing is skin and bones, too, bc of the antibiotics - so it's become kind of my project to get to the barn and graze him as well as help with his leg.
Speaking of projects! Ha! You'd think my dining room would be finished by now, but I decided to dial it back bc it was really bumming me out not to be at the barn when this fall weather is so nice. I have one piece of sanding left to finish - where the old medallion was from the old chandelier. Then, it's on to painting! This morning at 10 I'm having a group lesson with my friend, but then it's a-sanding I go!
Amy - oh my goodness, today is the day to meet Westy (the Westphalian), right?? Where was he imported from? I hope you and he hit it off! Even if not, it is a very exciting prospect! Good luck.
Beth - Wow, your show sounds like it's an intense schedule! I hope you're able to get some down time in.
Faye - Good luck on Sunday's concert!
Cathy - I hope your project is coming along well.
Libby - congrats on your house sale! Are you down sizing or moving to a new house?
Dutch - how old is Ally, again? Do you have a time frame on when you'll start putting tack on her and riding? What a cool process that will be. Will you be doing it all yourself, or will you have a trainer help?
Waving to everyone else, I hope you HAGD!

Good morning. It sounds like everyone is busy.
Faye-glad you had a fun rehearsal.
Allison-what you are doing with your dinning room is a huge project. Nice of you to help out with the horse with a bum leg.
Libby-glad you got an offer on the house.
Cathy-how was the longer lesson? Sorry about the cat UTI problem again.
Dutch-does Ally allow you to pick up her hooves okay?
Barb-I know you said you would have Apple Crisps but do you do anything else with apples?
Amy-so exciting to meet the new horse today. I hope he will be a good match.
I stayed steadily busy last not. Not crazy busy. Tonight will probably be crazily busy. DH is coming up to be with me this weekend. He's going to be a little later than originally planned as this morning when he pre-tripped his bus he found a tire low. It has 3 nails in it and he has to take the bus to the shop to get the tire fixed so his sub won't have any problems with it this afternoon. Oh well, that's life.

Hi Horse Lovers
WI up .6 I lose weight so slowly! I am tempted to do one of those fad diets but I know I would just put it back on and it may not be good for me. My plan this week is to eat more veggies and walk every day even if it is just 10 min. I feel like I am getting no where but if I look back over time I have done well. I have gone down 2 sizes in clothing and I feel much better. If I can lose 9 more lbs. I would probably be satisfied at that weight even though it is more then the recommended goal for my height and age.
Faye- hope the show goes well on Sunday, I am sure it will. Keep on tracking! It does help me so much when I do it. Is your back doing much better?
Libby- glad you got an offer on the house, and I hope it all goes though. I know it can get complicated. You never know what the future is going to bring your way, so even though you are not all that happy about selling it may be setting you up for something really cool coming up.
Dutch-Do you have tack to fit Ally? I am sure she brings a lot of joy into your life already.
Beth-having a friend at the show should make the day more enjoyable. I am glad the sales picked up a little.
Allison- I agree with you that the project can wait a little, there will be plenty of days coming up where the weather will not be as great and you can do it then. It will get done eventually since it is right in front of you every day. You can't hide it in a closet and forget about it.
Barb- It is always nice to have someone help with riding now and then. I also find it helpful if someone videos me riding so I can see what I am up to, it often looks different then it feels. Maybe someone can video you if you can't truck right now.
Cathy- how was the longer harp lesson? Did you feel like it was the correct amount of time?
I will meet the import today! I hope he is a good size for me. I will keep myself busy with chores until then.
HAGD Amy

Hi, all! Faye, glad the practice went well. I enjoyed the longer lesson (still felt short so I guess that's a good thing). I'm her last lesson of the week so I appreciated the fact that she was willing to delay her "weekend" 15 minutes. Money in the bank for her! Beth, so glad it picked up! How fun to have your friend for the day...makes things more fun. Yikes...3 nails??!? Whee, where was he driving? Nice of him to help over the weekend. Barb, I love that you have a "tracker" on Penny in case of separation! I wish they had those things back when I was an owner. The horse always came back but still...you never know. Amy, oooohhh...good luck today! And wow...2 dress sizes! That's an amazing accomplishment...look at the positive of what you've done instead of the negative of where you think you should be (yeah, I need to take that advice as well!) Allison, yeah, sometimes it's better to take a break than to push something to completion. Things go bad then. I still have to sand the cabinet base before thinking of staining. I'm putting it off Dutch, hope you get to spend more time with Ally this weekend! Libby, have fun with updating will. I never got one, but should. I think when you don't have kids or husbands you kind of ignore it. Cat did something weird this morning. She was quite hungry (i.e. woke me up) and after eating, must have fallen while trying to jump on the bathroom vanity. When I saw her, she was on her side and kind of stunned. I'm thinking, crap, something broken, but she stood up an proceeded to barf. She might have just barfed because of falling but was worried about a concussion (she's done that before as well...she should just stay on the ground...she's a crappy jumper). I let her rest, then was finally able to give her morning meds, and now she seems fine. Sigh... I did enjoy the longer lesson...still seemed fast! But didn't walk yesterday, stayed inside. Too much wind. Even the walk from the car to the teacher's building started the cough. Might swim today, or walk...the wind has died down. Cathy

Hi
So here is an update for you. I haven't seen the horse yet! What? Poor guy had a long day on the transport and did not arrive at the farm until 7:30 pm. Trainer told me earlier in the day that she did not need me to come out. She did text me last night that he was "cute and not huge". Trainer has a big show today which actually I am gong to go watch a little of in the morning. I was supposed to compete with Rueben in this show so it is a little sad for me but I want to see my friends compete. Probably won't stay too long. I will update you as things with the horse progress.

amy, what a bummer you haven't gotten to meet him yet! Although, it's good that you'll see him after he settles down a bit/gets used to the barn a little more. It's very nice of you to attend the show to support your friends; I'm sure everyone will understand if you cut out early.

Waving to the rest -HAGD- CBL Hi Barb, I am almost 5 ft. tall with very short legs so not too big is good. Rueben was about 15.3 hands which was a nice size for me. My trainer was willing to look at anything 16.1 and under for me. It also depends on how wide they are, if they take up leg. I can never tell for sure until I get on. I rode a 17 hand horse for a while a few years back but he was a narrow build TB.

I love Kristen Chenoweth too although I have only seen her on TV. Where is she singing? Is it a one night only thing? I did not know that the Broadway stars did concerts also. Enjoy performing tomorrow! Amy

Had a nice ride -we did about 5 miles again -took the "longer" trail -footing was a bit slippery in spots due to last night's rain -this is my favorite trail riding time of the year - not hot, not cold, no bugs (and no hunters yet!)
