Hi all tracking. Went out to Longhorn Steakhouse last night. It was pretty good food but I think our waitress forgot about us at the very end. We waited a while to get the bill.
Faye, what is Harp for Peace and are you doing a performance with them? Do you all play the same music at the same time?
Have to go to work so a quick "hi" to ATF.

Good morning,
Murky day here, blech. It would be the perfect day to start up painting the dining room, but instead I think I'm going to spend time at the barn 😊 I don't know if I'll ride - lots of t'storms in the area. Ever since my tumble back in March I definitely err on the side of caution! Don't want any extra excuse to get tossed off 😋 I figure I can help out with some things at the barn - I think I love just being around the horses as much as riding.
Cathy - happy belated birthday! I hope you spent the day doing something you love.
Faye - how's your back??
Amy - I hate it when the server forgets about you! We had an experience where the waitress just completely abandoned us after giving us our first drink order. A busboy delivered our meals, and we didn't see the waitress again until she brought us the check. She could've made a fortune off of me and the cocktails I would have ordered, if only she had asked!😝
Hope everyone has a great day!

Morning All! Raining here as well- and boy do we need it -the well at the barn is dangerously low! We are rationing & hauling in water.
Amy-we used to go to Langhorn for Sesame Place when my son was young -my grandmother lived in Allentown so we combined the trip -loved Sesame when he was young! Allison - yes careful is best -I am probably the most cautious rider you can find - I tell people that when they want to trail ride w/ me -that I mostly walk/trot when in groups until very comfortable about the mix!
Took Penny out yesterday in a lull in the drizzle -since I knew it was going to rain today & she had had a 2 week vacation! She was fine -BM asked if I was going to lunge her first -nah -she was so good -we trotted & cantered (i will canter more alone -see above! ) I am so lucky that she will go out alone without any issues -her pasture mate -not so much -she can barely get him off the property alone -that was my first question when horse hunting since i tend to ride alone due to my schedule (none as I am retired) so can go out any time I want!
More catching up from trip today -bills, bank, nails!
faye - have a good gig on Wednesday -Beth- did I see something about a big bandana order? woo hoo! When is your next show -do you have more during "season" for the holidays?
Waving to Cathy, Libby, Dutch, and anyone new or who I might have missed! HAGD -- CBL

Hi horse lovers, had a great long weekend and fun at horse camp! Went riding with a gal whom I met before, yet didn't know. Although her Missouri Mt. horse was nasty to Rosie (red ribbon on tail, we just kept our distance) we had a great ride and I learned a new trail. It was so beautiful and quiet there, with the full harvest moon! We went out to eat at the local diner - so not much work with cooking and cleaning. Cathy; that's how I stand all the noise and busi-ness here- getting away lol Wave to all! I've got some catching up to do on posts! HAGD

Sounds like everyone had a pretty good weekend! DUTCH-do you see Ally every day??.... YUP! Right off my back deck! So I go out like 1-3x a day and give her a treat, good scratches and practice things like leading, yielding, pick up feet, sniff the fly spray bottle and realize it WON'T actually eat you! She fun. I'm keeping it light and simple and short! 15 min each time or so. I'm NOT trying to press any buttons, just do some nice bonding time. So far so good! I forget the "official" names I'm picking out! lol I need to take proper registration pictures, then I can send it in. I've already missed the "cheap" timeline to get her registered - rather her previous owners missed them! Oh well.

Good afternoon. I went to the arena this morning and finished up an order . while I was there a woman came by and ordered 3 caps which I went ahead and did. Now I can start up this evening all caught up and fresh. I'm back at the motel for awhile just resting, reading and posting.

Hi, all! Faye, yay on the extra harping this Wednesday! I hope it goes well. And yes, my teacher said going up to 45m was up to me so we'll start this Thursday. Beth, wow...you are doing really well! Do you think the bandana lady was using them for her own embroidery??!?! I guess as long as you get the $$ who cares! Barb, welcome back...glad you had a good cruise and are back safe! Penny sounds like she did well on her own vacation. Libby, so glad you had a good time too! I thought this morning that I should have taken 2 weeks off. Haven't done that since I got the cat, what...15 years ago. Allison, I'm going to stain my cabinets, like a mid-tone brown. If it doesn't look good, I'll just paint them again but a nicer color than grey-brown. yeah, ceiling work is no fun. You need a taller ladder Dutch, sounds like Ally has it good...she gets lots of fussing over her, nice! Thanks, all for the birthday wishes! I did a short hike, cleaned a bit since the cat had snotty nose, did some watercolor painting...kind of goofed off. Mom and dad wanted me over there but I just didn't want to spend the last day of vacation in traffic. Bleh. Busy today getting caught up so probably won't get in a swim as intended. Might try to do my interval training DVD Cathy

Good Morning Horse Lovers Tracked, points numbers were good but I ate a lot of carbs.
Rode in a lesson over at my winter trainers barn yesterday evening. The horse was sweet but did not know a lot. He was close to 17 hands but a narrow build so I was comfortable. My first horse, Gio, was one of the horses being ridden so it was nice to see him go. We took a walking trail ride to cool out and I enjoyed that a lot.
Faye- was DD near the explosion? You are the only person I know who goes into NYC often so any time I hear things happening I think of you.
Cathy- you are one busy woman! I hope the cabinets turn out the way you want. Hope Kitty's cold clears up soon.
Barb- So glad you had a nice cruise! What was your favorite part?
Libby- It is nice that you had some company you enjoyed at horse camp despite his red ribbon tail. Discovering a good new trail is a bonus. I hope your work schedule is not too busy.
Beth-It sounds like you a doing a pretty good amount of business at the show. Is it fun to talk to customers about their horses or where they are from or do you not have that much time?
I am not needed at work today so I plan on putting the extra time to good use today. We finally got some good rain so I am going to head out and weed soon.

Good Morning -Amy- it's nice that you can still ride while you are searching -must be kind of strange to see Gio? But that is not the barn you will have your new horse? Yes , the cruise was fun -the ship was a bigger ship than we usually go on (4500 people vs 2400) and to be honest I prefer the smaller ones. but as I always say "if you can't have fun on a cruise there is something wrong with you & if you can't have fun on a cruise w/free booze there REALLY is something wrong with you!"
Didn't ride yesterday -plan on going out today -and probably most of the week- tomorrow I can ride w/ Dee (pasture mate's "mom"). Still catching up on laundry etc -10 days is a long time to be away.
Cathy - sounds like you are busy -but productive!
Libby- horse camp sounds like fun -I have some friends here who have done that as well I still have not put Penny on a trailer since our last incident -I know at some time I should - first I have to find some cob size hock boots to borrow since her's got shredded on the walk home (!) and I don't want to buy any until I know I can truck her again -you can't just buy back boots and cob is hard to find (and expensive $90 a set) my front ones have never been used! The mare magic is really doing wonders for her during heat -so I guess when I do try it will be when I know she is not in heat as that seemed to be part of the issue? (but again - who knows w/horses especially mares!) Waving to all - ride if you can - HAGD - CBL

Good morning. It was a slow night last night but that is to be expected. Tonight and Wednesday will also be slow. Thursday will pick up some and Friday and Saturday will be busy. DH will come Friday around lunch time and be with me until we come home Sunday morning. Beth, wow...you are doing really well! Do you think the bandana lady was using them for her own embroidery??!?! No. She works with a kennel that rescues dogs and she said she will put something on them (she does the heat vinyl stuff) when the dogs go to their new owners. I have not seen the bandannas since I sold them to her. Beth-It sounds like you a doing a pretty good amount of business at the show. Is it fun to talk to customers about their horses or where they are from or do you not have that much time? Most of the time we talk about the horse's name and or stable name to be embroidered on caps. Sometimes we will talk about the horses themselves if things are not too busy (like last night). I do have quite a few repeat customers. Also some friends from way back when I was showing here. I don't get much of a chance to watch the show when I'm working on orders.

Hi, all! Faye, have a good day! Anything fun planned? Beth, sorry it slowed down but I guess that's expected. Hope it picks up as the week moves along! Barb...free booze??!?! Well, until you get the bill, right Glad you had fun! I get the trailer thing. My horse wasn't a fan either. You'll try it again when you're ready. Amy, so...Gio is owned by someone else but used in lessons with others? Or maybe since its a friend who owns him, she/he let you ride him? But glad you got to see him and he's doing well. Have fun pulling weeds Did my circuit training DVD yesterday...never got out of the house since work was busy. Today is art class. I'm in a tug-of-war with the same 2 lbs Cathy

Hi- did a quick ride -DH had taken Tundra out to the trails for a walk before I left so about 3/4 of the way back I met up with them & walked back - my hope is to eventually take Tundra on trail rides so this is a good start to get her used to staying with me on the horse (and not get under feet) Penny is used to dogs on the trail - one of the other women at the barn takes her 2 small (rat terrier type) so when we ride with her they are all around.

DUTCH-did Ally have a show name? or is it totally up to you? All up to me! My name choices in order: LUV N MY MARKED WOMAN LUV N MY BLK N WHT MARKED WOMAN (dad is SP Marked man and mom is PRR ILUV A RUSH) So that pulls names together I think. But she'll always be "Ally" to me Ride safe ya'll!

Amy, so...Gio is owned by someone else but used in lessons with others? Gio is used in lessons here and there because my friend has two small children and probably only rides 2 times a week. Gio does so much better being ridden often. That is one of the reasons I sold him, when I had him with this trainer he was used in lessons sometimes (not beginners). Once I moved barns I was the only one riding him and I couldn't keep up with his exercise. He really does so well being ridden 5 or 6 days a week. He gets a little too bright otherwise. The trainer is very trustworthy as far as looking out for the horse so I had no problem with him using him. Actually there was one teen rider that was very sad when I left because she rode him every week and did very well on him.

Doctors went well today, I have ugly, yet very comfortable new walking/running shoes with orthotics in them, a whole size bigger than I usually wear! They are bright lime green with red writing on them. They were hands down the most comfortable. Plantar fasciitis. No more Zumba for a while, then I'll have to get new shoes for Zumba (after 6 weeks of foot stretching exercises) I have a brace on my right elbow for overuse! no more wt lifting for a while. That's ok, I'm going to ride a lot!! So, It looks like we are getting two offers on the house we have for sale - there have been a lot of people looking at it, yet no offers so far. I love that house so much seems sad to sell it. Had always thought of it as my quiet retirement home. Instead I'll be here- and make it work! Life is good

Good morning. Last night there was hardly any spectators at the show. I hope there will be more tonight. I closed the booth early and came to the motel. I actually got to bed by 11pm instead of 12:30am. the show is half over and I'm ready to go home. 9 days is a long time when it's NOT a vacation.

Hi, all! Faye, good luck at the concert today!! The DVD is that Jackie Warner circuit training. It kicks my butt! Barb, wow...the is AWESOME about the free booze. I've heard it's SO expensive on a cruise. Sounds like you have a plan for Tundra, keeping her busy is good! Libby, I have had orthodics for years and no longer get plantar issues. We do the weight lifting to keep our bones strong!! But if it hurts your elbow, then yeah, probably not worth it. Congrats on the offers, but sorry you feel you have to sell. Amy, ah, now I get it re: Gio. Some horses just love being worked, or at least need it more than others. There was a crazy half-sister to the horse I used to lease. She used to get run on tracks by the husband just to make her rideable for the wife. I never rode her...too crazy for me. Stay strong! Dutch, what fun names! Good luck picking the one you LUV! Beth, sorry it's not going very well. There was such promise at the beginning! I hope it picks up for you. If you know they start slow, is it worth it to go just for the weekend or do you have to buy space for the entire show? Watercolor class was interesting. We did abstracts...again. Not my favorite. I had a talk with the teacher afterwards just because I feel sort of adrift with my painting. I'm not happy with anything I've done recently so feel frustrated. She was positive...helped a little. Got a call from the vet, cat has another UTI so picked up some antibiotic. Sigh...I've spent a butt-load of money on her this last week. It killed my monthly savings plan Hope to swim today. Cathy

Doctors went well today, I have ugly, yet very comfortable new walking/running shoes with orthotics in them, a whole size bigger than I usually wear! several years back I had a lot of the same problem. I got custom orthotics that I wore for at least a year so I had ugly shoes in more then one style LOL. I was very good about the exercises and to this day I stretch out my feet before getting out of bed. I am back to cute shoes but I am particular about arch support and fit. I am pain free so it was well worth all the effort. amy

Hi all - just a quick stop by -Libby -hope the orthotics help you quickly -foot pain is a pain in the ....foot! Good luck with the house sale -Beth - sorry about the show - I can't even imagine a 9 day show -you have to do alot of sales to cover the hotel etc. Amy -any word on when the horse will be here -how long will you have before you have to make a decision? rode this morning w/Dee & Skip- Penny likes having her buddy -but always wants to lead (just like a mare!) we do swap out at walks & other gaits just so neither horse thinks they are in charge. DH is bowling this afternoon so I have some "alone" time -going to work on glass & relax. Waving to all -HAGD - CBL

Hi all, I had a nice lesson at my barn today. I rode a very nice mare,(can't afford her) I was a little nervous at first but by the end I was relaxed.I ended up going to lunch with the trainer and a couple other riders. I found out a little more about importing. The horse I am waiting for arrived at JFK airport yesterday and traveled to a quarantine barn fairly close by. He will be released on Friday morning and arrive at my barn Friday afternoon. Since he is a gelding he is released in 3 days. If there are mares they go to another quarantine barn in Maryland for 3 weeks. If he is put on a transport with mares he will have to travel to MD first and then move onto PA which is a little backwards but after the mares are loaded on the trailer it is sealed and can't be opened until they arrive at MD quarantine barn. So hopefully no mares so it cuts his travel time but either way he will be OK and arrive on Friday. I am going to be the one to meet him off the trailer on Friday. She said they usually act a little excited getting off the trailer so I should not feel that is his actual personality. Trainer will be at a show but home Friday night. I am excited to get him off the trailer just so I can see how big he is. I feel a little bad for the 14 year old that was riding him. Apparently there were tears as he left the barn. The person selling wants to know if rider can have contact info to keep in touch. I have no problem with that if he ends up being mine. I am excited, hope I am not boring you all with the details.

AMY-definitely not boring details. hope it goes well. glad you had a nice lesson CATHY-never heard of Jack Warner, will have to look it up. are you going to talk to the vet about "quality of life" for your cat? sorry about the $ and new UTI. hope you get to swim. glad you like the art teacher BETH-can't believe they changed the policy. so sorry. hope it picks up . that's a long show BARB-well I'm the only one not to love a cruise. went on one for our honeymoon and it was lovely but I like to wander around the sights and I don't drink so would be wasted on me. glad you enjoyed the ride. DUTCH-cute name. good luck choosing.
gig was lovely. ended up they just needed me to play 15 min with people coming in and about 10 with people leaving. the program was great. so it was lovely and I"m the first name in the program people came up to thank me and i even saw another member of our harp chapter so that was nice (he's a parent of a young harpist so we met at the harp gala)
tired. one more show Sunday. practicing with my friend tomorrow night and harp lesson in the AM. HAGD
