Okay, I actually forgot to write it down when I made it, I think this is close.
Soup:
1 lb 93% lean ground beef 1 chopped onion 1 tsp of minced garlic 4 c beef broth 1 jar of trader joe's organic tomato basil marinara 1 TB dried oregano 2 tsp dried rosemary salt and pepper to taste 4 whole wheat lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
Topping:
1/2 c ricotta 4 TB parmesan 1 TB dried basil (or if you have some fresh that would be better) 1/2 tsp minced garlic
I browned the ground beef, added the onions and garlic. Sauteed a few minutes. Added all the dried spices. Added the sauce and broth. Brought to a boil, reduced heat and simmered for around 10 minutes. Increased heat, and added the noodles when boiling. Cooked until they were done.
Topped each bowl with the topping mixture. All those ingredients mixed together.
I'm not 100% sure I'm remembering it all right. But it was a huge hit here.

I LOVE split pea. I claim all hambones and freeze them for this purpose alone. Maybe I will make a soup this weekend.

I make soup at least once a week. My favorite, vegetable beef, just doesn't taste the same since I can't find a beef knuckle bone for the broth. I have been using packaged beef broth or stock, but it's not the same. Current faves are lentil soup, potato leek soup, and good old chicken noodle. The pea soup sounds good, thanks for posting the recipe.

What does it taste like it's missing? Richness, beefiness? I discovered adding a little Vegemite to some beef dishes (just a tiny bit) adds quite a bit of flavor.

Based on a Cooks Illustrated recipe.
The Simplest Cauliflower Soup
Cut a cauliflower in half and remove the core from each side. Slice the florets and the core. Boil half the florets and the sliced core for 15 minutes in 5 cups of water + 2 tsp salt. Then add the rest of the florets and boil another 15 minutes. Blend with a stick or regular blender.
Very creamy, and with a much better flavor than if you had boiled it all longer.

I'm making curried butternut squash soup right now. I can't decide whether or not to add coconut milk. When in doubt, always add coconut milk.

It heated back up here, so no soup for me. I'm marking my spot for later, though.
