Good morning. Knee is still very sore/painful. Going to see Dr. tomorrow. Got to get some items from Walmart today. Then I need to monogram the towels I bought for DB's wedding. I bought 2 sets and I'm going to put His/Hers on the towels.
We're in a drought situation here and the weathermen are predicting no rain into November. I love the dry cooler weather but the grass and everything is so dry. we're under a no burn order.
Barb-bummer about George and Snowman only in selected theaters.

Way cool! Closest the movie is playing is a 2hr drive 1 way on Friday...so that's not happening, darn it.
Hope everyone had a nice weekend!
Ally got a pretty new red rain sheet. It ended up being 1 size too big, but as she's still growing, I'll live with it. Lucky girl!

Good Morning -Ok - QOTD- anyone sheeting/blanketing yet? I put a sheet on Penny last night for the first time - she does not get a heavy coat so she needs to be covered! Ok -she is a bit spoiled -2 sheets- 2 medium blankets & 2 heavy blankets (one is from Aaron is probably 10 years old-not very waterproof no matter how I treat it!) I swap them out when they get wet!
Beth -how is your knee? Hope Dr can help - Dutch - yes she will grow into it! Faye- have an easy fast!
Heading to errands then barn -waving to all - HAGD - CBL

we got our first light frost last night, hope it doesn't kill the flowers! Work is going OK, I'll be busy next week then it should slow down. Visiting one mom and baby this week. At the conference I was at all they had was yucky food (hot dogs, nacho's, candy, etc), I got so sick, next time I'm bringing a cooler of food! I gained a couple lbs! I really need to be prepared when I travel! Barb; I'm not going to put blankets on the mares until it gets 32 or under here. Diesel and Roku already have blankets on, they don't have a barn, just a run in shed. I'm going to ride today, I keep letting other things get in my way! Amy; I missed from Thursday - Sunday, I think I read your not buying the horse sent over? Dutch; she'll grow in to it, at least it's not too small! I bought a blanket once for my young horse, it was too small, I put it on her anyways, my dh asked me if I bought her a bikini! lol Beth, sorry your having so much trouble with the knee! Wave to Cathy, Allison and all other posters - HAGR

Hi Horse Lovers
Still horse hunting. I spent a ton of hours on line looking this past weekend. A lot of what I was interested in already sold. Other people don't respond it is very frustrating. I am doing some stress eating.
Barb- stop buying glass!
Beth- hope the doctor appt. goes well.
Faye and Cathy. the organist played his harp this past week in church. Always makes me think of you both. He does not always have the harp.

Hi, all! Faye, glad you had a nice weekend! Beth, hope you have a good appointment with the dr. and he can help with the pain. Did you get any rain from the hurricane last week or did it pass by you? I guess my cousin's wife in Palm Beach Gardens, FL had her first hurricane evacuation (he was in MI). She was fine, house was still standing Barb, glad you found the nails on the trail and Skip is doing OK. Hope you get a bunch of things sold this weekend. I'll have to check out the movie; don't know anything about it. Amy, finding the right horse is worse than shopping for a car. I remember all the disappointment. But hang in there, you'll find something. Libby, sorry there was just crappy food at the conf. Please ride!! For me? Dutch, glad the blanket is wearable...as mentioned, she'll grow into it! Trivia contest was fun. My forte was quotes from movies...I knew way too many. It was fun but we certainly didn't win (we think there were cheaters in the back Had dinner with mom and dad and brother on Sunday. Two dinners out in a row...felt kind of gross. I think I have to make better choices when eating out. I always figure, who-hoo, time to have fun, but that's probably not the right approach. Re: the pool, I went yesterday and was told by one of the ladies that she talked to the pool manager and he was going to say something to the older man. It was nice yesterday...really quiet. Had a lane to myself the whole swim Painting class today, last one for this session and I think she's taking a couple of weeks off before starting - maybe - the last one. Cathy

Good morning all!
Yes, I'm blanketing - but more for rain than warmth.
I think wormer helped. She seems perkier - but could be the cooler weather also! She gets another wormer on Friday, and then we draw blood again first of Nov to see impact.
I'm almost ready to send in registration. Need to take my 4 pictures, print them, etc. But I have the form completed at least!
Keep up the horse shopping Amy! I had similar experience - serious pain!

Good afternoon. The knee x-rays showed I still have good spaces and cartilage in my knees. That's the good news. The bad is I might have a possible torn meniscus. The Dr. and I talked it over and he injected my rt knee with cortisone. The office has an open MRI and they had an opening at 11:15 am. I stayed there until my appt time which was about an hours wait. I'm glad I was able to get it all done today. I should hear about the MRI tomorrow afternoon.
RE: blankets-I hardly ever blanketed my horses. I usually let Mother Nature take her course with their hair.
Libby-yeah travel food is hard to lose weight with. Hope you had a fun ride.
Amy-if you remember it took awhile to find Reuben and it was worth the wait. The right one WILL come along.
Dutch-glad the wormer seems to be working.
Cathy-do you watch a lot of movies?
Faye-have a nice time with DD.

Good morning. Getting ready for Bible study. The injection has helped with the acute pain. The knee feels about 60-70% better but still has some twinges in it. I should find out about the MRI later today. Gotta run. BBL

Hi horse lovers! I blew off work yesterday afternoon and rode both horses! It was so fun, I really have nice, safe, wonderful horses Rode in the back pasture for warm up and cool downs, haven't done and felt comfortable since the homeless camp was there. There is still some scattered garbage, nothing like before! Cathy; just for you, I had Lucy do her 0-25 mph sprint! She still has it at 16 yrs. old, now I know why she won money at roping! I haven't done that on her in years, as she is my dh's walk, trot horse. Rosie was so jealous when I was riding Lucy, she neighed constantly and ran around her pasture. Amy; I hope that you have a bag of carrots/celery/cut veggies n hummus for your stress eating! lol It must be really hard looking for that right partner! I've been teasing dh that I'm going to buy a black and white paint. I've looked on and off for about a year and haven't found one yet that I want! Keep up the lessons and something will happen for you Beth; so sorry about your knee! Hope the shot helps Faye; have fun w/dd Barb; I found the shipping boots yesterday, they've been in a tack trunk for 10 years! I only used them once on my little 14.2 hand gelding I used to have. I think they kept sliding down on him. They are green, Velcro straps, pretty simple looking w/synthetic fuzzy insides, I can measure them and if you think they will fit, I will mail them to you. dutchwife; what are you registering her for? paint? pinto? Allison; I looked for the harry and the snowman movie here also. It's not showing anywhere close Off to see a new mom and baby mid morning, then to train a new staff person. Wave to ATF, HAGR

Hi, all! Faye and Barb, hope you are having a good day! Did either of you fast? Libby, good for you taking a day "off" and riding both horses! I loved galloping. We had a place we called "Run Away Lane", straight, probably 3/4 mi, next to the freeway. The horses LOVED charging down that trail. Sigh...miss it. Beth, hope the MRI shows nothing too severe! Glad the shot seems to be helping. Oddly enough, the one I had a month or so ago in my hand worked this time...have not had any problems since. Better than surgery! Dutch, yay! Glad you almost ready to register Ally. I looked for the movie too and it's about an hour away. I don't see it getting any closer than that Had watercolor yesterday. I guess we may not even get a full session. She's taking a couple of weeks off to get things fixed up and then will try to rent her house. She may try doing 3 sessions starting in November but is not expecting to go beyond that. Will have to sort out how to keep moving forward after that. Very sad Will do some needed errands today. Cathy

Got the MRI results. It does show a torn meniscus. Since the injection is helping somewhat and I go out of town Saturday, that is al I'm going to do until I get back and see how it feels then.

Cathy-sorry about the classes.
Libby-so glad you got to ride.
Dutch-about how tall is Ally?
Barb-don't buy anymore glass until you sell half of your stock.

Amy-are you doing any riding?

Hay horsey ppl!
Wet, wet, wet and some wind coming my way (80mph gusts at the coast - 40 some at our house).
I have not sticked Ally... I'm guessing 13hh. Her parents were both 15 / 15.2hh. So I'm really hoping for a growing spurt here! I wanted minimum of 15hh. Fingers crossed!
Hang in there with your knee Squiggles.
