Howdy!
This weekend seemed busy. Yesterday Mom and I got our nails done, then I ran errands. I started the oil finish on the boxes I made, and they’re turning out so pretty! I’ll post pics when that process is done in a few days.
I’m hoping for a normalish week. I’m tired of all the stressful rushing all the time.
Have a great day!

Greetings! Busy but productive day yesterday. I got out before sunrise and rode 35.3 miles through suburbia. Very little traffic at that time of day so it made for a pleasant ride. I was back home before 9:30am. Got a few things taken care of at the rental property and then headed to campus. By the time I left at 6:45pm, I had 2 versions of the exam (same questions just in a different order to discourage wandering eyes) and all the copies made. I even had a chance to proofread it and fixed a couple of things before printing all the copies. I'm much happier with how this exam turned out as compared to the first exam I gave last fall. Now to see if the students bothered to study. Several of the students who were absent on Friday thus far haven't bothered to look at the slides I presented on Friday. The slides that gave them a preview of 16 questions that are on the exam/// I told the ones who emailed me about their absence to check out what I posted and I also put up a news item highly recommending looking at the slides. I've done all that I can. My goal for this week is to have next Monday's slides and worksheets ready BEFORE the end of day Thursday. If I accomplish that feat, then I can go up to Wisconsin for the weekend and not have to go to campus on Sunday. That would give me more time to hike and earn miles towards the Mammoth Hike challenge that starts tomorrow. I'm very motivated to accomplish this! I'm so ready to close out this month as it really kicked my ass. The scale is showing the results of my stress eating Have a great day!

Morning.
So I decided to take yesterday off. It was WONDERFUL. I slept in, got some mulch spread, went to yoga, and napped.
Friday I got nails done early and got out with YF for our morning run. YMV showed up at the coffeeshop while we were sitting and chatting. YF called him on some of his BS and handed him a couple of applications (she went back to the office at the coffeeshop and printed one for the City position available) before running off to be in our high school's homecoming parade. When I read his application (the one for the coffeeshop, but she's already filled the available position), I understood why no one was calling him back. Manicurist/Yogi friend walked in. Without a word, I handed her the application. She got to the issue and nicely tried to explain why you don't put "incompetent management" on an application. And he ~argued~ with her. She sat down with the two of us and read him the riot act for probably 20 minutes about everything from lack of motivation to disrespect to just being a good person. I think she finally got through. He has been much less contentious since then.
Saturday we went to a nearby town to participate in a color run for CSO's GD's dance troupe. We had colored chalk in every crevice by the time we were done. I spread some of the mulch that MG had picked up from Manhattan and he went to get another load for me so I can finish the job. There might still be a third load that will need to be retrieved.
YF has a trip planned to California next month. I mentioned to her that there were 2 unscheduled weeks of vaca and that I didn't have specific plans. Now I will be going to CA with her on the 9th. I have a massage and another therapy session scheduled before the trip happens. I put the dates on the work calendar so the girls will need to figure out their OT. Things are going so much better in just the few days that I have set my mind right since my last therapy session.

Happy Monday Evening!
I have been trying to ignore what is happening in this area. Then our power went out. And then I found out a friend is missing down in Boone, NC.
Good news is WF is slowing being freed from her home. Hopefully she will be out by the morning.
No school again today or tomorrow. I imagine we will be on an altered schedule Wednesday.
Happy things--I am going to meet a friend to play trivia at a different place tonight. It's actually at our local sports bar, I just don't usually go out on Monday nights.
I hope you all have had a great day.

WF is off her driveway.
The body of my friend, my sorority sister, my wild child, my... was found today taken by a mudslide. No word on her best friend, her dog, but I can't imagine he left her side. I am crushed.

Hello October!
An amazing number of students managed to get many of the questions wrong that I had in my review session on Friday. Even ones that did attend. Three students didn't show up for the exam. One had emailed me prior to class that he was having car problems and Uber would be $100 each way since he lives so far away. He is scheduled to take the exam today. After I got back to my office, I put in early warning notices for the other two. One immediately emailed me that he had gotten confused and thought class was at 11am - no that is your lab on Wednesdays. He came over right away and took the exam. The other emailed me and said he overslept. I've offered him a chance to also take it today but haven't heard back from him. It is ironic that Mr. Can't Set an Alarm is also on probation and taking a special study skills course this semester///
I swear I've added more gray hairs since starting to teach this course last fall. Many students still can't figure out the difference between the tibia and fibula much less the radius and ulna. I have marked up all the exams but have not tallied up the total points earned per exam. That will happen this morning. Then I will focus on lab and class prep as I really need to get away from all this crap this weekend.
On a positive note, I got an overload contract as I have 7 contact hours with the students even though the 2 classes in combination are 6 credits. I have to teach 6 hours each semester as part of my contract. I was thinking I should have gotten an overload contract last year but I was so overwhelmed and everything was looking so dire with the budget that I didn't pursue it. The contract I got yesterday was for 2 contact hours so I think they are trying to catch up from last year. I just signed it and am grateful that I will get some extra money over the next 3 months.
Have a great day!

Morning.
Yesterday there were no local phone internets. No texting. Nada. The first day back really showed me how badly I had needed that vacation day on Sunday. This morning there is more stoopit, but nothing that cannot be handled. I took a nap after work. MG had gone to KC for a Dr visit and to get some good BBQ. I decided to get outside in the evening and finish up with the mulch I had available. I got 3 of the 4 house flowerbeds done up. I could use another load (#3 and possibly #4,5, &6!) of mulch to clean up some other spots and finish up the last flowerbed on the east side of the house. There are at least two spots ringed by bricks that could use some attention. But that doesn't even start touching the back shed that I tore into early this summer and haven't done anything else with.
YF CSO & I were talking about a VP debate watch party. And YF wants to get out for a run early this evening. Our watch party will probably devolve into the three of us watching at our own homes and texting though. YF is still struggling with the glutening from a week or two ago, so being at home and in her own home will be more comfortable than driving to us or hosting.
Planning out my day the night before while I set out clothes is going really well so far. I hope this habit sticks long term.

Good morning!
I am trying to process all that has gone on this week. It has gotten to me emotionally and physically.
WF has gotten out and has been posting on FB. I imagine she is ready to see people and have real conversations.
I hope you all have a great day!

Hi, Well, I haven't weighed myself all month, and have not been doing a very good job with healthy eating. I did get 3 new recipes tried, and have kept up w the 3/4/5 Challenge, but barely. I'm going to take a break from here and FB for a bit to concentrate on doing a lot of things that I've been letting slide. I have a PCP appt next week (with yet another, different doctor...) and will hopefully finally get the referral going for the mental health care that I was given in July by the Neuropsychologist. I also have a mammo the day after. Take care my friends, much love.

Howdy! So much going on here in AIMerland. newmoose, I feel so awful about your situation. Cyn, I had some mental health challenges over the last few months, too. I hope you are able to work your way through what you need to do. I’m looking forward to the weekend. The annual rescue horse show is Saturday, so I’m excited about that. On Sunday I want to putter quietly all by my self. There has been drama at the community garden this week. Sunday there was a Board meeting, and around midnight the garden manager (a volunteer) messaged that due to irreconcilable differences with the Board, he was resigning immediately and would not be responding to texts or emails regarding the garden. Then Monday morning someone (from the Board, I assume) changed the combination on the lock and people couldn’t get in to water their plots. Finally they sent out the new combination. There was a gathering at the garden last night for people to meet and talk. I skipped it because it sounded like a big ol’ gossip fest. I’m curious about what happened, though. Have a great day!

Happy Humpday!
Big hump this week as I'm not ready for lab this morning. I worked on setting up the models until 7:45pm last night. Still have to get the worksheets and word bank put together. Ugh. I will be so glad when this semester is over.
All my students have finally taken the exam. The late ones certainly didn't get any advantage over those who were in class on Monday.
Have a great day!

Morning
Yesterday was supposed to be getting together with the girls. YF is still dealing with stomach issues and CSO was cleaning and packing for a trip. So I puttered around the house instead. I did climb on the bike since I didn't spread any more mulch. I have about 6 bags left to distribute. Tonight is a rare unscheduled evening. I will see if YF is up to a run after work.
The weather here so far has been beautiful. We're sitting at 60-70's and it feels like the first real fall in forever. I hope this lasts.
Our debate watch party fizzled a bit since both were so "normal" arguing mostly policy rather that personal attacks. It was refreshing. And boring. But I'm good with boring. I think that Walz agreeing with him on some of the points made took the punch out of Jd's hoped for "gotcha" moments. And he got in a couple of dadjoke common sense points himself. Not much more you could hope for out of a debate like that. Just about the time Walz got comfortable with the back and forth it was over. I need to go back this morning to see what the pundits and fact checkers have to say. The biggest foible that they covered was Tim misrepresenting the time frame of his visit to Tienneman Square and he admitted that he got confused on the timeline but was there when there were protests, just not that historic moment. That to me was an acceptable answer to the question. His impulse to try to further explain because of dead air did not serve him well in that regard, but it wasn't an unreasonable reaction either and he didn't do any harm to his initial assertion IMHO.

Happy Friday Eve!!
I can almost see the weekend from here! Things are still looking good to not have to go to campus this weekend. I will head up to Wisconsin tomorrow as soon as I'm done with my class. I'm so ready for a mini break.
Lots to do today to be ready to load up the car tomorrow morning before I head to campus but it will all come together.
Have a great day!

Howdy!
It seems like summer will never end. I’m tired of summer clothes, but it’s still in the upper 90s here. I want some boots and sweaters weather!
I’m working from home this morning because Mom has a doctor appointment. I’ve got to go to the office after that for an in-person meeting that couldn’t be moved to a different day so I could have a nice Work From Home day. That’s a bummer.
Have a great day!

Morning.
I am posting here so I don't get fired again. And it has nothing to do with the NewGirl.
I got on the sta bike last night rather than do anything else meaningful.
Tonight is a massage. I need it now.

Good morning from school!
We were on a delay this morning and I took advantage of it by sleeping in. I imagine we will be on a delay in the morning, too.
We won trivia last night.
Tonight is GN of a different sort. It is Homecoming GN and there will be nearly 20 of us in attendance. It is going to be big fun!
I hope you all have a great day!

Howdy!
Oh, the garden drama! The same Board member who hosted the GossipFest after the garden manager resigned sent out a message yesterday: “Urgent work day, Sat Oct 12. Everyone needs to be there.”
I’m trying to talk myself out of asking, “What is suddenly so urgent?” My other response is to simply not show up. She seems to be a bit high strung or something.
I’m so glad it’s Friday. Have a great day!

Good Morning Ladies: Nice extra long walk with the babies. My damn scale is still up a pound from my burger and fries night. I'm gonna try only protein drinks today since my brunch with the ladies got cancelled. Took the grands out to dinner last night and ate very sparingly. Today is the stuff I didn't do yesterday...since no one showed up to do it...

Good morning!
GN, with some of the guys, was a whole lot of big fun. I talked with people I hadn't seen in years and enjoyed seeing everyone. We are all missing our sister and it was healing to talk about the fun times.
Today I have gallons of Bloody Marys and Screwdrivers to make. DH has pork on the smoker. I will check that when I get home and get all of the stuff needed for tomorrow's tailgate.
Nothing big going on otherwise.
I hope you have a great day!

Greetings from Baraboo, WI!
It is so amazing to have a day off from work! I got up to the Madison area around 2pm and hiked 6.4 miles, most of which was for a section of trail that for my fall property monitoring. Then I headed up to Baraboo and got all checked in with the volunteer coordinator and then went to my motel.
Weather looks great for today! Sunny and highs in the 70's. The trails will be busy. Devil's Lake is the most popular state park in Wisconsin.
Have a great day!
