Good morning.
Okay Faye-what is Kabbalah? Never heard of it. Whatever it is I hope you enjoy it.
Barb-have fun at the art gallery.
Cathy-I hope you can get your money back.
Dutch-glad the blanket is staying on Ally better.
Libby-are you still working 2 jobs?
Amy-will you be riding today?
DM got 2 huge Boston Butts for 99 cents per pound yesterday. Now I have to smoke them as I have the smoker and she doesn't. I think I will do that tomorrow.

Hi, all! Faye, have fun in class. Isn't Kabbalah on the mystical side of the Jewish religion? I thought I remember reading about it a bit...I'm probably wrong Amy, glad you had a good first lesson. Sounds like your trainer knows you need some confidence on Lukas and she got that going for you...yay! Barb, the show sounds wonderful! So happy you had a good time and enjoyed it! Beth, I'm assuming your mom is sharing the meat with you since you're smoking it but she bought it? That's nice Libby, have fun in prison! Dutch, yay for blankets staying on! Yeah, I'm not sure what to do about the glasses. I've had progressives for 8 years now and I do like them. This time the distance is OK, but reading with them gives me a headache. It's like he measured for distance but not for reading. I don't get it...I've NEVER had this kind of problem with glasses before. I'll go in next week and make a stink and see what happens. Faye, they don't even FIT them to my face...the nose pieces were all off and I had to adjust them myself...so half-assed. It's supposed to rain today and I'd like to swim, so we'll see how it goes. The cat still has a UTI (heard back from the vet yesterday) so we're going back to a different med, one that "worked" before. We'll see... Cathy

DUTCH-hope DS is better. Hope the blanket stays on and in one piece. What color?
BARB-what again is the name of the show? the Kabbalah class was great . our Rabbi teaches it and this is sort of an ongoing thing . It's called Melton classes and I took a few years ago about the Jewish calendar and ethics etc. so it has a book to go with it. and I see a few people from the other classes that I know so it's nice. about 12 people, raining today so a bit less. Once a week 1 hr thru May. Today was great so I have high hopes. And the Rabbi really was great (last time was our previous Rabbi and he was good, too. )
LIBBY-have a nice day at the prison. Do you visit many mothers for checkups or is it to give a class?
waving to all. Cold and wet and "goes right through you" kind of weather. HAGD

hi horse lovers, Well, I'm waking up early all the time now! Around 3 or 4 am and can't get back to sleep. I watch dh sleeping so peacefully and wish I could go there! Too much on my mind I guess. May be once the house closes "the 4th of Nov" I can have more peace. People have been at the broken up "homeless camp" almost every day now. They stayed away for about two weeks. The enforcement officer said he can't keep them off of there, yet they cannot spend the night. So frustrating! The neighbors and I have been calling in almost everyday to complain. Harry and the snowman is playing in Tacoma, it is a date that I can't make Rosie still looks skinny to me. I started giving her alfalfa along with the orchard grass, I decreased her grain, now I'm realizing I need to up her grain again, she needs the extra calories. I'm not riding much, so I didn't want her to get to hot. We are breaking all records here with the most rain in October ever! Barb; does the hay stretcher help them to gain weight? dutch: I love the color blue! Amy; so glad you had a good ride Wave to Cathy, Beth, Faye and atf

Good morning. I just rubbed my butts! They need to sit and rest with the rub on for about 2 hours before I start smoking them. that helps to maximize the flavor and penetration of the rub. Then they will smoke 6-8 hours until they are done. Each butt will make a lot of meals. Libby-have you have Rosie's teeth checked lately? If not, she may have points on her teeth that make it painful to eat or maybe even a missing tooth. Ugh about the people trying to come back. I don't blame you for calling the police every day. Faye-I agree with Libby that your DM must have passed on early. Have fun at yoga and hair appt. Barb- you and Libby seem to be getting all the rain. We're in a drought and a burn ban here. No measurable rain in the near future predicted. Dutch-blue is a good color for a blk/wht horse. Cathy-sorry the cat has a UTI again. Amy-are you riding today?

Hi, all! Faye, glad the class went well. Sounds like it will be fun and interesting! Had harp lesson last night...going in the rain really sucks!! Libby, bummer about the folks behind you showing up again. I can't believe the lack of support from the police...you REALLY should by the property if you can. Hope the house sale comes through! Barb, yeah, there seems to be lots of rain for everyone It started yesterday late afternoon and is still going here! Beth, the smoked meat sounds wonderful. How long will a butt last? Dutch, hope all is healthy soon! Amy, what'cha up to? Didn't swim yesterday, but I guess I should have since today it's pouring. I did my circuit training DVD instead. Just didn't want to go out since I knew I had the harp lesson. Will try to swim today but I bet I'm going to talk myself out of it again Cathy

BETH -happy smokin'! My neighbor has a smoker and it always smells so yummy when she does ribs. CATHY-sorry about the cat's UTI. I think you take your harp to the lesson? if so, yes, rain is a bummer. Happy swimming. Any art lessons or did the teacher move already? LIBBY-so awful about people coming back. who owns the property?
yes, my mother was 68 when she passed away. Way too young. Seems like yesterday and a lifetime ago at the same time.
haircut and color went well. 40th HS reunion next weekend so wanted to get it done and have time to " recuperate". I picked out 3 dresses, one I know is good, one I think is good and the one I really would like to wear. I'll try them on next week and see who the winner is.

hi all - Libby -can't they fence the area off? Beth - when I first read "smoked my butts" - i had to think! Faye - I went to my 40th and it was fun -they held it in nYC -I roomed w/ 2 old hs friends -we had a hoot!
Rained here again -but Penny was dry in her rain sheet so she must know enough to stay in the shed - I gave them lots of hay for munching -I had put her strips up across the front this week so it does keep some of the rain out as well -but -there is so much mud & leaves (bm doesn't do alot of "maintenance" & I;m just not going to rake an acre of leaves so they stay!)
Waving to all -have a good evening - tomorrow's another day

Well the butts are smoked and mine is put into packages for meals and into the freezer. I was also able to cook 8 quarter pound hamburgers and 4 tilapia fillets with the residual heat from the charcoals. I had to take a shower as I smelled like smoke and I didn't want to go to bed smelling like that.
DH and I will probably go to the farmers market tomorrow morning and maybe into town.
Goodnight.

Had a 15 yo girl come and ride diesel and rosie yesterday, I wanted her to exercise Lucy, yet I turned Lucy out when she was riding diesel and she must have slipped and hurt her shoulder, she was running and bucking and rolling in wet grass, when we got her in the arena, she was really lame! So I asked Heidi if she thought she could handle Rosie. She has been Heidi's student for about 5 years now at a different barn. She wrote Rosie so well! She's not an easy horse to ride. Afterwards, she told me she loved her so much! Anytime she needed exercise, she'd love to ride her! It was fun watching someone else take a lesson on her. Off to a canine companions benefit (we were asked to bring the dogs and be at a booth), it's a Halloween thing at a kennel. Then over to our friends house (who will be the kitchen remodel contractor) to get the plans on the computer drawing and get an estimate for the cabinets HAGR everyone!

hi all- I will be so glad when this election is over - between phone calls & doorbells!
Libby - hope Rosie heals quickly - nice that you have someone to help exercise the horses with you - hope this works out for you -
So i just got back from stripping the shed (again) and even though its coolish (49-50) I kept Penny's sheet off -and of course now it's pouring - I know -she will not melt -I'm just a neurotic mother (ya think?)
Beth - sounds like you are well stocked for a while - good for you. Amy - what's JMU?
Waving to the gang - ride if you can - keep dry -or warm -HAGD - CBL

Good afternoon. Had a good church service. Making lunch now. I will be working on my Bible study lesson today and probably take a nap.
Faye- I'm walking in the mornings whenever my knee doesn't twinge on me. My walking is a lot slower and less distance but it is still movement.
Barb-enjoy the walk/ride.
Dutch-blanket straps...hate them but gotta have them.

We had a lovely ride -Tundra is getting to be good about staying with us & not getting under feet! (this is good!) but she still likes to run off at times into the woods -she always comes back out -but I don't think I am ready to take her alone yet. DH is good about going - when we trot/canter ahead - the then wait for him to catch up! It was lovely to see the sun today -
Beth -do you take anything regularly for your knees -or is it just "deal with it?"
Cathy - what's up w/ the glasses?
Amy - have you gone outside again with Luka?
Faye- how was your class? how many sessions is it?
Waving to the rest -happy sunday -

Yesterday Lucy was pretty sore still, did a hoof tester it was - and no heat, swelling in the leg, I think it is in her shoulder. Gave her some bute and some non-bute herbs and today she went running out of her paddock like she felt a lot better. It's wet and cold, so I don't think I'll try riding her. I'll give her till next sunny day, which they are predicting about next Thursday lol! I think I'll keep giving her the non-bute till then. HAGR everyone!

Hi, all!
Libby, sorry about Lucy. Hope the bute helps. How nice that someone enjoyed Rosie; hope you can get her more exercise that way! Faye, hope you having a nice Sunday. Beth, any movement is good movement, even if it's not as much as you'd like. Glad the smoking is done. Barb, awesome that Tundra is learning to be a trail dog. They do like to search the bushes; does Penny freak out when Tundra comes back? Amy, I had my 40th last year and it was fun. Stayed in a room with the other "gals". I enjoyed my time with them; it was all the other folks I didn't remember - or didn't care about - that wasn't that great. Dutch, hope you can remedy the blanket situation.
Some friends were supposed to come over this morning to hike but it was pouring, so we'll try another day. Went to the gym, walked on the treadmill, did some rowing, and some weights. Better than nothing I guess.
We'll have 3 art lessons starting this week, and then she's off to SoCal somewhere. I don't know how much longer the harp teacher is around. She hasn't said much after telling me this summer. Maybe still working out logistics.
The cat seems fine; started her antibiotic this morning. The bills keep mounting!

Hi Horse lovers, We had amazingly nice weather for Homecoming game at James Madison Univ. in VA. That is where I graduated from 31 years ago and also met my DH. We drove home this morning so I had plenty of time to go out in the afternoon and ride. The weather was so nice I decided to go further around the farm and I did a new route then the first route then the new route again so far he seems to be doing very well. I washed his legs and hand grazed him a little while they dried. He seems to like pampering which is nice bonding time. I took the braids out of his mane and it is falling to the right but we will see if it stays that way.
Beth, both my DH and I take Osteo Bi-Flex it is a joint health supplement and we both think it helps. I started taking it when I injured my knee over a year ago. It is not an instant fix but has to build up. I went off it for a while and noticed a difference so I went back on it again. I don't take it every day any more but I did for almost a year. You may want to consider it.
Cathy, I hope you can find new instructors for art and music, such an important part of your life to keep things in balance.
Faye- I am sure you class is very interesting. I only know Kabballah from Pop culture years ago when Madonna was wearing a red thread around her wrist so really I know nothing.
Libby- are you moving forward with the new kitchen?
Dutch- Glad you have Ally in your life.
Barb- hope you have some good weather soon. Tundra sounds like he will become a great trail dog with some time.
The weekend seems to have gone by too fast.
HAGN
