Hi Peg and thanks for the start-up! I think it's best to do dailies, too. But of course if anyone has a conversation going, feel free to go back to the first one. I'm off for the next four days - . Doctor this morning and DH's retirement stuff later today. Hoping to hit a yoga class tomorrow and who knows what else. I have no clue as to what to wear to DH's retirement party. It's at the university library and then moves to a bar next to campus. I love the fact that I can scroll down and see what you posted before I hit "create post"!

Good Morning. It's a day off from work for me, and it's my weekly cook-up day. After breakfast, I'll spend a few hours in the kitchen and we'll be set for the week; then dinners will be mostly mix-n-match. Even DH can get dinner on the table in under 30 minutes.
Yesterday, we got an estimate on having our entry doors replaced. Front door, storm door, and back door. Yikes! at the cost. It's part of a long list of repair/remodeling projects that we are working through.
I'd better get busy. Have a great day, all!

We are hoping to replace the flooring of our deck but haven't gone to see what it will cost. DH has done some web research so we have some idea. I would think labor will be the killer.
Maryenne, wear something comfortable as it could be a longer celebration.

Thanks, Peg. Currently, I'm wearing jeans and a very colorful top. It might be the costume of the day.
DH just told me that our weekend plan might include buying and installing a new hot water heater. We have two, and it seems the one in the master bathroom has departed this world.

Good morning,
Let me reintroduce myself. My name is Joyce, from Buffalo, NY. I'm 64, currently work as a cashier/office clerk for a car dealership. I've been there 4 months now, took that job after losing my job of 30 years. Just need something that gives me some health insurance for another year. It's a fun job, nice people and no stress.
It will be nice making new friends here.

Good morning everyone! Peg, thanks for the startup. How recent is your picture? I was picturing your hair much shorter than that. The style in the picture looks great on you. Maryenne, enjoy DH's retirement party and the four days off from work! Is your DH excited about retirement, or unsure about it? It's definitely an adjustment. Joyce from Buffalo, looks like we have something in common. I am also Joyce from Nashville. I agree that we need to start a new thread every day. It will make it less confusing for everyone. Esther, glad to hear your hip is better and not hurting as much. Busy morning here. My cleaning lady is coming, the hairdresser is coming for both my mom and dad, and the physical therapist is coming. They're all back to back so the morning is full. DH is still out of town overseeing the renovation of our newest rental. It's a nice house in a good area, and we originally didn't plan to do much except paint; but, one thing leads to another and pretty soon it's a big project. Turns out there was hardwood under all the carpeting, so it seemed a shame not to take advantage of that fact. Thus, carpets ripped out and floors to be refinished. Which leads to why not go ahead and redo the bathroom floors too, and now let's build a new deck. All these things will help to get the top rent, but what is going to be a small project somehow always turns out to be a big project. Have a lovely day everyone

Hello ... this group seems to be a mix of the group that's been together on Weight Watchers for some years and new people from the ProBoards community... and I correct?

Good morning all! Michelynn, you are correct in that we have new friends who have joined us! I am a retired teacher and scroll administrator. DH and I have three children, seven grandchildren and a great granddaughter. We are renovating a family home that I inherited and are putting my late father in law's property on the market. Thank goodness we finished our own home major renovation last year! Today we are traveling back to RI. Our grand dog is coming to spend the weekend with us. I love her! She is a Great Dane mix and the sweetest dog. I have one plant barrel to weed before we leave. The yard looks great. I am bringing a bouquet of flowers from the garden back to RI with me. Have a great day. Lynn

I checked in a couple of days ago. I'm Betty. Getting ready to retire next year. I'll have over 25 years in Government, and I'm ready. I'm watching more than posting, getting used to how this group operates.

Since I am new, I think it would be nice if everybody does a little intro and where they are from. So, I am a pediatric oncology medical assistant in Jacksonville, Fl. Have done this job for over 24 years. Worked general peds before that.

Hi to all our old and new members.
I am 77, a self employed bookkeeper and tax preparer living near Boston. I am planning to retire at the end of October. I don't want to go through another hectic tax season. I have 2 children and 2 grandchildren, both in their 20's. I am an enthusiastic amateur musician. I play old style flutes, Baroque, Renaissance and Irish flute and whistle.

I am Joyce, a 67 year old retired community college prof, retired tax preparer, and now caregiver for both my elderly parents who moved in with DH and I 4 years ago. I am the mother of one lovely daughter and have two beautiful grandchildren--a boy 8 and a girl 5. I've been a part of this thread on WW for a few years now (don't remember how many?), and I'm looking forward to continuing with old friends and making new ones.

I'm Becky, 63, and still working as a department manager. I keep thinking, "THIS will be my last year," but I always cave in and say OK to my boss. He's four years older and says that I can't retire before he does.
I have been married 40 years, no kids. This past March, my MIL passed away, leaving DH and me with no one to be responsible for besides ourselves. It's a strange feeling. We started some long-put-off home improvement projects and that seems to be filling the gap.
I did well with WW beginning in 2001 and I've been up and down and up and up. DH and I follow a mostly Paleo eating plan and when I stick to it, the weight slowly comes off. Sticking to it can be a challenge, especially at work.

I'm very late today- it was the last day at my old job, so was busy.
This is a great mix of people, I think!
I am Barb, just turned 60, and as I said in the first thread, I just got a great new job. I am a veterinary technician and copywriter and wrote about pets for a pet supply company for almost 20 years, but my new job has nothing to do with pets or copywriting- I'll be editing a magazine.
I hike, kayak, bike, snowshoe, and generally love to move my body which is a good thing with the desk jobs that I've had! I have Newfoundland dogs, a cat, an Amazon parrot and a cockatiel ( you tend to adopt animals when you work for a pet supply company.)
I'm in northern Wisconsin- Joan- what part of Michigan are you from?
Nice to meet you all.
