Good morning.
I hope everyone will have a good day and beat the heat. It was 77* at 5:30am this morning when I went walking. Yeah I sweated.
QOTD- what was an embarrassing moment you had with/about a horse/s?
Way back in the early '80s' DH and I with my 1st (and best) show horse who had a bald face (part of the story) were at a show. The horse was tacked up. I was in my riding suit. I was talking to someone when DH came walking up to us and started talking too. I was looking around and didn't see the horse tied to the trailer. I asked DH "Where's the horse?" He said "At the trailer". I said "No he's not". We started looking and found him with his head over the bed of the truck very intent on what was in there. I yelled "Oh no, the watermelon!" Yep you guessed it. He had his whole nose buried in that watermelon and he wasn't going anywhere. When we reached him and pulled his head away all of his white nose and bit with reins was covered in watermelon. AND my class was the next class. Needless to say he had a quick clean up.

Good morning - Beth- thanks for getting us started - this is getting going slowly - don't think it will be the same type of group as our WW - but fun as well - hoping the others wander over soon! Embarrassing? hmmmm -probably when i was showing H/J and often my DH gave me the "best performance over a fence without a horse?" My first horse (a mare!) would refuse our first jump always - and sometimes I sort of kept going! Never got hurt -just my pride! We did finally get over (no pun intended) it!
Weather looks to be hot & humid next 3-4 days -can't say how much riding I'll get in -depends on the bugs -will shower the horses (and watch Penny roll) and just make them as cool as they can be -they tend to stay under trees int he heat -

Hey, both, yes I've had those embarrassing moments as well...like being the only one over the fence. My dad got some pictures of those...the one and ONLY time my parents showed up at a show and he gets my flying through the air horseless. Also, the horse took off and I had to walk out on foot. Ugh...
Sounds like your guys are going to have fun weather. It's warmer here, but we don't get that humidity. Stay comfy!

The moment when my lesson horse decided he was done showing for the day and just left the ring mid course! First he did a sideways move that unbalanced me so I was busy trying not to fall off and he could go where he wanted. This was my first show ever away from the farm and I took up horse showing as an adult so that added to the humiliation. I will say that this particular horse had pulled this move before as a lesson horse with other riders. He was actually a good lesson horse for me because I learned to out maneuver his shenanigans and we were more successful in future shows.

I can't say exactly that I had an embarrassing moment with a horse. Most of it was just me falling. I do remember this one time after a lesson where I was dismounting and got my foot stuck in the stirrup a bit and eventually fell, but I don't think that would count as a fall from a horse
