Good morning!
It's a gloomy, cloudy morning here with a 40% chance of rain, but at least the temperature is better and only supposed to go into the upper 80s. That will be a nice change.
Lynn, glad you were able to get your surgery scheduled quickly so you will have that behind you, and glad that it will be outpatient. That's so much better than a hospital stay. Sending best wishes for everything to go smoothly and for you to heal quickly.
Maryenne, any tutoring sessions today? That's such a worthy activity. I know your students must appreciate it very much.
Esther, how are things with you and Ruby? Have you played for any dances lately?
All is well in my corner of the world, and there's really no news. I just saw a post where DGD is selling T-shirts and sweatshirts as a fundraiser for her school cheer squad. They're not something I would ever wear, so I told her I would buy one for her if she would just pick it out and tell me how much to Venmo her mom. I always try to support the DGKs fundraisers. After all, that's what grandmas do, right?
Enjoy your day!
P.S. I had mentioned that I was checking into Section 8 housing for one of my tenants that we are going to have to raise the rent on (not until June 2024). Just found out that is not going to be a solution. Here they are not accepting anymore tenant applications for Sec 8, and already have a long waiting list. When the list gets down low enough they will accept again, but they do not give out applications ahead of time and the day they open to accept applications the lady told me they get thousands of them. I honestly had no idea the need for help was that bad. How sad for all the people needing it. We've agreed to continue with our tenant until next June, but then we will have to raise the rent. I am so sorry not to be able to help her. She's been with us for 6 years, and is such a sweet lady. But our expenses keep rising, and I have to remember that this is a business.
