Good morning friends!
Esther, so glad your eye is healing and that the swelling seems to be going down.
Lynn, glad you were able to get the packing cubes you wanted. I don't know that they help me to get anymore into the suitcase, but they sure are nice for keeping what is there organized.
Maryenne, will you be doing any tutoring today or is that on Tuesdays?
We are back to heat warnings here with the heat index today supposed to hit 108. So I'm grateful we don't have work that has to be done outside. I feel for those who do. DD is out of town for work again this week--this time 4 days instead of 3, so my taxi service will be in full swing. Life for today's kids, or at least for my grandchildren and their friends, is so much "busier" than it was when I was growing up and even when my daughter was growing up. I can't decide if I think that's a good thing or a bad thing. Probably neither, it just is what it is. Anyway they are both happy, active, and enjoying life. I'm grateful for that. Maryenne, I'm glad you get to visit Thomas often although I expect it's not nearly as often as you would like.
I've been on the phone with the plumbing company this morning, and yesterday even though it was Sunday had to have the AC company out for a different house. It seems it is never just one house at a time that has an issue. They all go along with no problems until suddenly there seem to be multiple issues. Yesterday the AC unit had to have a new fan installed as the old one had died. Thankfully they got it fixed yesterday, and so the tenant will have AC today when it is going to be so terribly hot. We have an annual contract with the HVAC company, so going out on a Sunday doesn't cost anymore than a weekday although none of it is cheap. The plumber will go out to the other house today so we'll wait to see what happens there. This house also had an AC issue last week where there was a leak which had to be repaired. That was about $1,200! Fortunately yesterday's issue for a different tenant was only a little over $300, and fingers crossed for what the plumber will have to say today. Oh well, it's all part of the cost of having a rental business.
Enjoy your day!
