Over 60 and Still Working/Wednesday

Good morning friends!

I'm feeling a little more lively this morning. Gradually cleaning kitchen counters. Every time I go in to refill my coffee, I do another section. What a life! Hoping to hear back from the cardiologist today. I tried calling them a couple of times yesterday and the wait time was crazy. Must have been because it was the first day after the long weekend.

I'm going to make Moroccan chicken in the crock pot today. I don't have a few of those spices - coriander and fennel - but I just use the ones I have. It's very delicious. Last night I made an asparagus/goat cheese tart but the puff pastry didn't puff, so it came out more like a cracker. The filling was good though. I don't know why the puff pastry didn't cooperate.

DH went to the grocery store yesterday, so I don't have to go today. Seems like one of us goes nearly every day.

I hope you all are having good weather! Our humidity has definitely gone down this week.

Good morning from RI! Smooth flights yesterday- no issues on American Airlines.

Today I’ll pick up the mail being held at the post office, make a quick run to the grocery store and then it’s mani-pedi time!

Maryenne, it's good to hear you are feeling better but hope the doctor can do something to make you feel even better than this. Your cooking adventures this week sound really interesting. I seem to get stuck in a rut of making the same old things over and over. I need to branch out more.

Lynn, welcome back and so glad you had a wonderful trip! It sounded absolutely lovely.

It is very humid here and feels like we might get rain. It was cloudy, but sunny now so the rain may not come after all. We have a busy day ahead. We both have dental appointments for cleaning this morning, and then later DH has an appointment with the audiologist. I want to be there for that as well. He doesn't hear well at all even with his hearing aids. I think he needs new ones, although it's possible they may still be able to adjust these enough. I suspect it will be ordering new ones though. This is at the West TN Speech & Hearing Center which is non-profit and requires a doctor's referral to be seen so if they say he needs to order new hearing aids then he definitely does as they're not a hearing aid company trying to sell them. They have adjusted his hearing aids before, but I am really expecting he needs new ones now. I know if I leave it just up to him he won't order them. He never wants to spend any money on himself, and yet would spend any amount without a question on me or the kids. So if it goes as I expect, I can assure you I don't plan to leave that office before an order has been placed.
