What’s on your mind — how to make kugel? This week’s Torah reading? Life goals? Prayer? We are all engaged in weight loss/weight maintenance journeys and we are all Jewish or at least interested in Judaism. We like to eat, we like to discuss. It is our goal here to provide each other support on our journeys, to share experiences, to call on our rich cultural heritage and texts, and to help each other grow spiritually.

Hi everyone,
With the heaviness of the world news at the present time, I want to start off the week citing a thing that is giving us pleasure right now, or that is actual welcome news. Why? Because I think it’s important for my (our) sanity to stop and appreciate something that is going well, something that’s a happy anything, however small.

I'm going to a wedding Sunday evening. I happen to have a gown that fits me. The family has a lot of relatives in Israel but this is still a simcha. I will be signing the ketuba. I have been praticing my Hebrew script. I am very happy that my biggest problem is that it will be chilly and I don't have a dressy coat.

Here’s my happy thing: I recently learned that my son and his second wife, who were married three years ago, are expecting a baby in April! Our youngest grandchild at present is 11, so this is going to be a real change for us all, but very happy.

I spoke (via Zoom, so I also saw) with my oldest grandson a few days ago. It had been a long time since the previous time we'd chatted. He recently got engaged and a few days ago he told me these last three years (yes, with her) have been the happiest time in his life. He had a rough childhood and not exactly an easy time in his early adulthood, so to hear that he's happy is a really big deal.
I'll try to BBL with more.

Good morning everybody. I hope everyone is well and SAFE! Please pray for Israel.
Re today's topic: I think passing around some good news is a great idea!! My good news is that I weighed myself this morning, and I am just a touch under 50 lbs. lost from my highest weight. I am very happy about this. Of course, I still have a LOT to lose before I qualify at the hospital for my knee surgery, but this is great news.

Wow, such wonderful news from everyone! I just got a box delivered a few minutes ago with 3 blouses I ordered online last week. Not only did they arrive quickly, but they all fit and are flattering! DS32 just put them in the laundry, so I can wear them this week.
A small thing, but I'll post more later. :+)
