Over 60 and Still Working/Wednesday

Nothing much here. I'll drive to the branch library and do an hour of tutoring and then stop at the Publix that's near there to pick up cat food and litter. Nothing else planned for the day.

Lynn, I think you are prepping today. Hope it goes well. I remember feeling like beef broth was so delicious when I prepped. I don't think I had ever had it straight before.

Good morning!

maryenne , today is prep day. I will look into some beef broth- it is very satisfying. I have errands to run this morning- Michael’s, LL Bean, grocery store for a few things. Then late this afternoon I will be house bound! This has certainly been a year of health for me! Most of it “accidental” as opposed to routine things like the colonoscopy, mammogram, regular check ups. Our DH’s are very similar- I have to walk a fine line between letting him handle things alone and not interjecting my opinion and knowing when to possibly intervene. I guess that’s true of relationships in general!

Maryenne and Lynn, I agree that husbands are the worst when it comes to any ailment or aches and pains. Mine is exactly the same, and I get very frustrated with him, but I've learned it's best to just keep quiet and don't offer advice.

Lynn, good luck with the colonoscopy.

Esther, I'm glad you're back to actively being involved with your music. I wish we could hear you play. It must be lovely.

It's a lovely day here, but windy. The handyman and his helper are coming in about an hour to finally install my new microwave. My old one is still working, but whenever it's being used it makes a lot of popping noises so every time it's turned on I expect that to be the last time it works. It'll be nice to get the new one installed. I don't use it for anything but reheating and/or popcorn, but still it gets used just about every day at least once. I did get my car back from DSIL yesterday, and that was nice. I didn't really need it, but still I missed not having it available. This afternoon I'll pick DGS up from baseball practice and take him home. DD should be home mid-afternoon tomorrow, so my "duties" will be over until we're back from our trip. Most everything is packed, and pretty much all I have to do tomorrow is just the odds and ends kind of things that can't be packed until the last minute as well as straightening the house a bit. I always like to do that before we leave, although I'm not sure why as it's not messy, but I'll dust and run the vacuum. It must be something I picked up from my mom along the way to never go on a trip without first doing that.
