What’s on your mind — how to make kugel? This week’s Torah reading? Life goals? Prayer? We are all engaged in weight loss/weight maintenance journeys and we are all Jewish or at least interested in Judaism. We like to eat, we like to discuss. It is our goal here to provide each other support on our journeys, to share experiences, to call on our rich cultural heritage and texts, and to help each other grow spiritually.
Some of us take weekly turns starting the thread: Holly Lee Louise Lynne Peachy
And for those of you that stop by to read this thread without posting — you are welcome to, but you are also welcome to chime in. Don’t be shy!

Hi everyone, Well, the House of Reps finally elected a Speaker yesterday. The good news is that he is from Louisiana, my home state. The bad news is that he is from Louisiana, where politics comes in three shades of red: red, dark red, and extremely dark red. This guy apparently called the overturning of Roe v. Wade a "joyous day." And he has been a major supporter of Trump.
On a brighter note, my brother and my sis-in-law are coming for a weekend visit. We are close, and can spend hours around the kitchen table kibitzing about everything and nothing. They live in Dallas, and it so happens that the Dallas baseball team (The Rangers) has made it to the World Series, which begins this weekend. I think baseball is a bore, but DH LOVES it, so I predict a lot of baseball watching ahead.
So... topic of the day:
If you could pick one live sporting event you could go to, what would it be?
I would love to go to the finals of the Wimbledon women's singles. I like to watch tennis, especially women's tennis, and doing it in London with all the celebrities in the stands would be a hoot.
So, even if it is a farfetched stretch for you, if you could pick a cool sporting event to watch, what would you choose?

Sorry. I'm SSSOOOOOOO not a sports fan. I'd rather go to auditions of a children's symphony orchestra than a live sporting event.

Good morning everybody. Hope you are all well and SAFE! Please pray for Israel.
Re today's topic: I'm generally not into sports, but would enjoy watching top-level ice skating or gymnastics. OTOH, if I happen to see those on TV, I think that with camera close-ups, I could probably see the events better at home. Besides, I wouldn't want to spend the money.
Have a peaceful day, Lee

Not a sports fan either, although I THINK our Phillies are playing your Rangers Lynne. I haven't followed it at all but between the Eagles and Phillies around here, folks are NUTS! Enjoy the visit!

I'm not a sports fan at all. Like Lee, for me it would be gymnastics and ice skating. It is just amazing to me to watch that kind of grace and strength.

So funny - I'm right with the other non-sports fans. I lov watching the figure skating and gymnastic on TV - don't know that I would want to be there, but maybe. Guiolty pleasure was watching women's volleyball - there was this one pair of women I just loved to watch.
