Good morning! Thank you all so much for your support yesterday. It really helped.
I found some quotes from American writer Robert Tew on JewBelong, then looked him up online as well. I don’t know about you, but I could use some inspiration these days, and I thought you might like these too. Would you read them all and then comment on whichever ones speak to you?
1. Sometimes what you’re most afraid of doing is the very thing that will set you free.
2. Don’t let negative and toxic people rent space in your head. Raise the rent and kick them out!
3. Everything you go through, grows you.
4. Challenge yourself every day to do better and be better. Remember, growth starts with a decision to move beyond your present circumstances.
5. What you deny or ignore, you delay; what you accept and face, you conquer.
6. Don’t ask why people keep hurting you. Ask yourself why you are you allowing it to happen.
7. Strength of a character isn’t always about how much you can handle before you break. It’s also about how much you can handle after you’ve been broken.
8. Just because you’ve made mistakes doesn’t mean your mistakes get to make you. Take notice of your inner critic, forgive yourself, and move on.
9. The struggle you’re in today is developing the strength you need for tomorrow. Don´t give up.
10. You can never be happy if you’re trapped in the past and fearful of the future. Living in the present is the only way to be happy.
11. The longer you live in the past, the less future you have to enjoy.
12. Respect yourself enough to walk away from anything that no longer serves you, grows you, or makes you happy.
13. It takes a lot of courage to push through hard times. Never give up. Good things are coming your way.
14. Trust yourself. You’ve survived a lot, and you’ll survive whatever is coming.
15. If love becomes too painful, then it's time to let that love go and save yourself. You have to keep this in mind because you'll be able to find another love but not
another self.
16. The person who doesn't value you is blocking you from the one who will. Let them go.
17. Just because you have a past with someone, doesn't mean you should have a future with them.
I have a good friend (“X”) who was exploited by a business partner (“Y”) many years ago and still ruminates over it. X feels that he should have been able to protect himself from Y and is still angry with himself that this happened to him. So I’m thinking of #2 and #17. I only met Y once, and I could see right away that he was a manipulative narcissist who didn’t deserve to breathe the same air as my friend. X still carries a lot of anger toward Y; he just can’t let it go. The next time X brings this up, I’m going to tell him to raise the rent in his head and kick Y out! And then I’ll tell him #17!
