What’s on your mind — how to make kugel? This week’s Torah reading? Life goals? Prayer? We are all engaged in weight loss/weight maintenance journeys and we are all Jewish or at least interested in Judaism. We like to eat, we like to discuss. It is our goal here to provide each other support on our journeys, to share experiences, to call on our rich cultural heritage and texts, and to help each other grow spiritually.
Some of us take weekly turns starting the thread:
Frieda (hopefully)? Holly Lee Louise Lynne Peachy
And for those of you that stop by to read this thread without posting — you are welcome to, but you are also welcome to chime in. Don’t be shy!

Good morning everyone! This is from JewBelong. I love it. All comments welcome and encouraged!
The Holstee Manifesto
This is your Life. Do what you love, and do it often. If you don’t like something, change it. If you don’t like your job, quit. If you don’t have enough time, stop watching TV. If you are looking for the love of your life, stop.
They will be waiting for you when you start doing things you love. Stop over analyzing, all emotions are beautiful. When you eat, appreciate every last bite. Life is simple. Open your mind, arms and heart to new things and people.
We are united in our differences. Ask the next person you see what their passion is, and share your inspiring dream with them. Travel often, getting lost will help you find yourself. Some opportunities only come once, seize them.
Life is about the people you meet, and the things you create with them so go out and start creating. Life is short. Live your dreams and share your passion.
-Mike, Fabian and Dave Holstee
Thank you all for your participation this week. Shabbat shalom!

I have to copy the manifesto into my files and read and reread and reread a lot! Thanks, Peachy, for introducing it to me!
Yesterday's thread asked us to share an "orchid" story; I had done exactly that on Wednesday and apparently hadn't thought of another good one to tell. Suffice it to say I continued and continue giving orchids whenever I can.
Gut shabbes (Yiddish) and/or Shabbat shalom (Hebrew) to all, whether you post or lurk or just "came by."

Good morning everybody. Hope you are all well and SAFE! Please pray for Israel. Today, DS and I are going out to our favorite deli for brunch/lunch. I have a craving for corned beef, and this place makes wonderful food. Re today's topic: Thanks peachymom1, for a good week! It's important to remember to praise people when possible, especially clerks, workmen/women, and customer service people. They get a lot of flack from the public, and getting compliments can give them career boosts as well as helping them feel happy. Have a peaceful day, Lee

This isn't working so far, but I'm still in it, so could be maybe! Thank you for a good week. Shabbat shalom.
