Good morning friends,
This morning I'll take a shower and go up to the little post office in the little town to mail a few things. It's rainy here...I think we're on the tail-end of that rainy mess that moved up the coast.

Maryenne, I hope the rain will move out before tomorrow for you. Ours thankfully has gone.
Lynn and Esther, waving to you both! Glad your experience at the grocery yesterday was similar to mine and not that crowded. I was pleasantly surprised by that!
Yesterday we had rain all day and even last night, but today it looks like the sun is going to shine. No baking or special cooking going on here. It will just be the 2 of us for Thanksgiving. We have reservations at what is maybe the nicest restaurant in town. We've done the same thing for Thanksgiving before. The food will be good, but the downside is no leftovers (or maybe weight wise that's a plus). DD and family will be on the road a lot going to her SIL's in Mississippi for Thanksgiving and night, and then to her father's in Illinois on Friday evening. It's been a very long time since I've been able to have Thanksgiving with her. Her dad got Thanksgiving and I got Christmas which I would much rather have. Now her in-laws also have to be included in the equation. That's life. Step-son #2 and our grandson will be here Saturday morning and stay until Sunday afternoon. We won't do turkey, but he wants to cook his "famous" BBQ chicken which is fine with me although I will need to make all the sides, etc. Still that's not a lot of cooking. If you're baking or cooking something special today, enjoy!

Good morning dear friends. Raining here, too. A trip to the PO in my plans, too. maryenne , enjoy your seaside dinner tomorrow. I hope the weather clears up. nashville11 , DD and her family are certainly doing a bit of traveling this week. Safe travels to them. I agree about the mixed blessing of no leftovers! Waving to Esther. The only thing I have to do today is make the mashed potatoes. Then everything on my end is done until tomorrow. I use Pioneer Woman’s mashed potato casserole. Great for a crowd. DGGD is over this morning. We are making a Thanksgiving craft- paper crowns. Then we’ll bake some pre-sliced cookies. Sending wishes for a peaceful day. Lynn |
