I am going to give the rest of the tin of variously flavored pecans from SC that my sister sent for Christmas to my neighbor before I eat them all. Along with the rest of the lovely Anna's ginger cookies I served along w Gluhwein the other night-we went for a walk around the perimeter of the zoo to see the light display, avoiding the crowds in the zoo and paying for it.

Things are getting a bit out of control here with getting my dad ready to go to my siblings' houses and for them to take him to follow up appointments while I am gone. So I'm just going to sign out of checking in for a bit till things settle down. I'll be back later when I have time.

Things have finally calmed down a bit but we are all still stressed out with everything happening and my leaving. I am eating less because I am being very conscious of not eating between meals and have been resisting STs quite well. I failed one night but otherwise have been succeeding.
I am not exercising. I thought I'd start on Friday after my dad was discharged but there are so many things to do at home and I was behind with packing, and I just didn't. The next few days are also busy. I am going to take a routine with me to India and see if I can do it every day. It is just a full body routine combining some strength and some flexibility

Exactly what I do, while trying to fit in some cardio, which doesn't always (or ever) happen. Other than walking, of course. Saturday credits: Weighed - down 1.2 lbs. Continuing good thoughts to you for your dad and for safe travels. Sounds like a good plan.
Got a good walk in yesterday in the morning, sadly the sun went under just as I went out.
I went to Roses' for Christmas dinner, but behaved myself. I ate one normal sized helping, passed on wine and dessert, and also passed on the tin of pecan meltaways she offered me. I need to keep working on staying off the sugar train, I'm happy I didn't use the holiday as an excuse.

My dad was delivered into my brother's hands yesterday (figuratively). I've been finishing up getting ready for my trip since then. I've had a headache due to dehydration and need to hydrate a lot today. Otherwise I will be in a lot of pain on the flight because I get more dehydrated on flights. Will take a water bottle to fill after security.
I have a few errands to do today and finish up the last of the packing. My SIL asked for home-baked cookies and I had a fail on them yesterday. The butter didn't incorporate fully into the dough and was in large chunks so the first batch spread all over the cookie sheet. I kneaded the rest of the butter in by hand and put the dough into a pan to make a cookie that I cut up. They overcooked a little because I didn't know how long to bake them for and was going along adding 2 min increments. The last one should have been 1 min. I have them cut into squares and need to do the sandwiching today and then pack them so they don't become crumbs by the time they get to India. They are going in checked baggage because I'm only taking a backpack as carry on. I think if they are tightly packed into a container, they should hold up especially because they are sandwich cookies.

lani, I've barely tasted them, which is good! They are all now properly packed - padded with parchment paper (from the baking) and put in between clothing in the middle of the suitcase.

I got here in one piece and the cookies were intact. They have been consumed. I didn’t eat any.
The first few days were busy and then I am on a short break and it will be busy from this afternoon on. So I’m posting here.
Eating has been good since I got here. It always is. The food tastes better and I only eat two meals a day and no snacks. I started exercising a couple of days ago and started meditating yesterday. The routines I put on my iPad are perfect. There is a 13 min stretch I can do right before bed, plus two 20+ min strength and flexibility routines (body weight exercises). I read cards here and there and am logging food as best as I can.
