It's a rainy thundery day here today so we'll be indoors. I was thinking about wrapping, but I do hate to wrap and James suggested I use gift bags. That means I'll have to get them tomorrow since it's too stormy to go out.

Lynn, you're probably getting ready for your dinner tonight. I'm sure it will be wonderful!

Joyce, have you been getting a lot of rain in your area?

Esther, did you play music this weekend?

Maryenne, I am with you on hating to wrap packages. I love to give the gifts, but hate to wrap them. I do often use gift bags for that exact reason.

Lynn, your dinner with your friend tonight will be wonderful I am sure. Enjoy!

Esther, I hope you are enjoying Hanukkah. I'm afraid that I don't know much about the celebration, but would love to learn more.

It will be at least 20 degrees cooler today, but sunny and in the mid-40s. Lots of big storms and tornadoes across our state yesterday afternoon and last night. We are fine here thankfully.

Today is DGD's 13th birthday--a big one! She is so excited to be a teenager. We'll go over this afternoon to give her a gift and have birthday cake. She's planning a party with her friends after Christmas. The thing about a Christmas birthday is that it so easily gets rolled into one big holiday, and her friends are always so busy with their families, etc. during the season. So having the party with her friends after Christmas is much better for everyone, and her birthday doesn't get lost in the shuffle.

Good morning!

We are looking forward to our dinner tonight. The house will smell so good with the apple pie and the meatloaf in the oven! It’s rainy here, a good day to putter around. i have laundry going, will vacuum when food is in the oven.

I am not crazy about wrapping gifts and I use a lot of gift bags, too. I have a December birthday, too. When I was a kid my mother would inviter my friends over to decorate Christmas cookies and they would take some home with them. A cut out, iced cookie always makes me think of those parties. There was one year when one of the girls mixed different colors of icing together and decorated all of her cookies in a disgusting gray goo. when we were in high school she won the Betty Crocker award, so I guess her cooking skills improved over time! The after the holidays party is a great idea nashville11 , for all the reasons you mentioned.

maryenne , when are you heading up to see Thomas? His birthday is sometime soon if I remember correctly.

mooselady12, his third birthday is January 20th...Joe Biden's inauguration day, which is why they gave him the middle name of Joseph! I'll probably go up Thursday, the 18th and come home the following Tuesday or Wednesday. That's my usual pattern, because James has Fridays off. I bought him three books for his birthday at the library sale the other day - 3 for $1!

I hope Thomas has a nice birthday celebration in January. My children both have January birthdays. My DGS has his the day after Christmas so it’s really easy to wrap it into the Christmas celebration.

I went to a Hanukkah service and dinner at the synagogue Friday night. The only thing I usually do to celebrate is light one more candle each night. No music this weekend. Some people are sick and not going out.

I finally got appointments for all my vaccine shots. My arms are sore.

It’s very warm and wet this weekend. Poor ruby is not comfortable.
