Good morning all!
Esther, your Christmas Eve brunch sounds lovely. I like the idea of the dried fruit and candy in the stockings along with the coffee gift cards. How many stockings do you have to fill?
Maryenne, I think your holiday getaway to St Augustine sounds lovely, and is a very good idea. It's been a long time since I've been to St Augustine, but it was one of my favorite places we've visited.
Lynn, do you go to one of your children's for Christmas celebrating or do they come to your house? It's nice that you live close to all but the one daughter. I know I love living here close to my daughter and grandchildren.
It's warming up here going into upper 50s today and 60s tomorrow. That can be bad as that kind of weather combined with a sudden hard freeze and ice is what killed so many plants here last winter. Fingers crossed that doesn't happen again. Today I need to do some house chores including laundry. Yesterday we got out for lunch and antiquing. I bought a shelf with pegs that I want DH to hang in the hallway leading to the garage as an extra for hanging coats during the winter. The weather here varies so much even within a single week from a light jacket to heavy, bulky coats that we keep all kinds at the ready. I have a hall tree, but need more hooks so this should work well without taking up too much space. Enjoy your day!

Good morning,
Today is do-nothing day for me. I've completed the cookie-baking, we have leftovers for dinner, and not much laundry. So I think I'll read a book.
Hugs all around!

Just wondering if any of you have ever tried cooking bacon in the oven. I want to try that, but I'm afraid it will spatter all in the oven and make a bigger mess to clean than it does when cooking it on the stove. Have you had any experience doing this?

My husband cooks our bacon in the oven. It doesn't spatter. He put a rack on a baking sheet and lays parchment paper on the rack and then lays the bacon on the paper. It is delicious that way. Pioneer Woman shows it on her website.

Hello friends
Maryenne Enjoy St Augustine. You deserve a do-nothing day.
Joyce I have only five stockings to fill this year. I’m afraid Don wouldn’t know what to do with a stocking now. Everything I take to the nursing home disappears.
Lynn Are you on vacation from teaching now?
I hope everyone is enjoying the Christmas season.
