What’s on your mind — how to make kugel? This week’s Torah reading? Life goals? Prayer? We are all engaged in weight loss/weight maintenance journeys and we are all Jewish or at least interested in Judaism. We like to eat, we like to discuss. It is our goal here to provide each other support on our journeys, to share experiences, to call on our rich cultural heritage and texts, and to help each other grow spiritually.
Some of us take weekly turns starting the thread: Frieda (hopefully)? Holly Lee Louise Lynne Peachy
And for those of you that stop by to read this thread without posting — you are welcome to, but you are also welcome to chime in. Don’t be shy!

Wow - yu all had so much to say Wednesday - Thsank you. Here's the thing. I am not feeling well. It started with just a runny nose but now I have a full fledged cold and am feeling pretty bad. No fever (just 99.7) and no covid but I feel awful. I got myself out today and bought most of what I need for the kiddush. I do't knowif I will actually be able to oull it together, For now, I just need to go to sleep. Sorry.

Rest easy. Take care of yourself. Don't worry about getting "things" done; there are other people who will step up. Just take care of our important friend Louise and all will be well.

Ugh, feel better soon Louise! I didn’t make it here yesterday - way too busy with grandkids, cooking, driving, etc. They leave later today. But I did enjoy reading everyone’s posts yesterday!

I switched to Mucinex and slept well. I feel marginally better this morning. I am going to bake a pumpkin bread now for shabbat. Maybe we can talk about sense of responsibilty - or overdeveloped sense of same. I think I can get it to work in my favor today and push myself through some of the things I need to get done. I had planned to make a couscous salad but bought everything xcept the couscous yesterday - gr-r-r.

Good morning everyone, and Louise, I hope you are resting and giving yourself time and room to heal. I was thinking of you yesterday because I got an email from my shul, reminding me that my father's yahrtzeit is Monday. I got the email about five minutes after I'd gotten off the phone from explaining to one of my sisters the importance of lighting candles in Jewish life. I'm pretty sure I already have a yahrtzeit candle, but I'll make sure to get one tomorrow if I don't.
I had a bad eating day yesterday, but I did at least go to the gym, so that's something. I didn't go at 5 a.m. as usual, because DH said he wanted to go with me, so we went after work instead. It was busy, but not horribly so. I only had to wait for one machine, and then once I'd done one set, someone came over to wait for it, so I asked him if he wanted to work in. I got the same workout and did a good deed at the same time.
Not a lot of work this week - most of my execs took the whole week off, and nobody else is generating much work. So I'm catching up on a few things and basically taking it slow, which is a nice change.
Everyone have a great day - I'll BBL. Going to go make a cup of green tea - Louise, have a cup of tea and take care!

Good afternoon everybody. Hope you are all feeling either better or well in general, and SAFE! Please pray for Israel.
Re today's topic: I am feeling sick too, but better than a few hours ago. I had fasting blood tests this morning, and there were difficulties with the paperwork and the labs. I got so stressed out that it thoroughly upset my insides. Thank goodness for DS; he has been even more wonderful than usual.
I don't feel up to writing more, but hopefully tomorrow everything will be fine.
Have a peaceful rest of the day, Lee
