Good morning,
I'm pretty sure it's Saturday, but I've been confused all week. I see that I completely missed coming here yesterday.
Suzanne and I had lunch at a new Thai place and it was good. I had a Thai sampler, because I'm not that familiar with Thai food. It had dumplings, spring rolls, crab rangoon, and something else I don't remember.
No plans today except I'm putting a pot roast in the slow cooker. I hung my 2024 calendar and in comparing it with my phone calendar, I see I have two different rheumatology appointments, so I'll have to call them on Monday to see which is real. Well, I'll call them on Tuesday, I guess.

Maryenne, I'm not familiar with Thai food either although I hear very good things about it. We do have a Thai restaurant here that I read good reviews for, but somehow I never remember it when we're going out. We get into a rut going to the same old places.
Lynn, enjoy your New Year's Eve celebration in the Berkshires!
Esther, do you have anything special planned for celebrating New Years?
It is cold, damp, and gloomy here so not very cheerful weather. Our neighbors are having a party today, well actually today and tonight as it starts this afternoon and will continue on. It's a come and go type of thing so I think we will go in the afternoon and stay maybe a couple of hours. I'm taking some mini quiches and a bottle of wine. Then for the actual New Year's Eve tomorrow, as usual we have nothing planned. We always welcome the New Year quietly at home, as neither of us are big partyers.
I do need to get laundry done either today or tomorrow. My mom used to call me every New Year's Eve to remind me not to do any laundry on New Year's Day. Evidently the superstition is that if you do laundry on New Year's Day you are washing someone out of your life. I don't believe that, but nevertheless I always abide by it in memory of my mom.

Good afternoon! Our plan for tomorrow is Indian food with a friend and a game of Uno Attack. I will bring the rest of an apple pie we all had for coffee/ lunch today. I had a nice walk to the local bookstore today, I didn’t buy anything, bit enjoyed poking around for a bit, The sun was out for about ten minutes this afternoon. I can’t wait for this cloudy, gloomy weather to pass! When we went to the Thai restaurant last month we got a sampler, too. I love to try new types of food. When we get back to RI I will transfer the appointments on my phone to the paper calendar. DH doesn’t use the phone calendar, but I do. I like having things in both places. Enjoy your party Joyce. maryenne , I have most of what I need for Mississippi pot roast, so when we get back to RI I’ll pick up a jar of pepperoncini and put it on the menu. I love using the slow cooker, especially in the winter. Esther, I look forward to hearing about your California trip! Sending peaceful wishes. Lynn |
