Good morning,
I'm feeling better this morning. Yesterday, I was terribly sad all afternoon and cried most of the time. I really hope I don't feel that way today. I can't control it or predict it, so I guess I'll just go with the flow.
The Mississippi pot roast did turn out very well. It always does really. I didn't have a packet of "au jus" so I used Lipton onion soup mix instead and it worked fine. I cooked some new potatoes and DH chose black-eyed peas to go with it all. I was in bed by 9 and as a result, woke up at 4:30.
No plans for today, but I'm thinking about getting out the easel and try to finish up a painting I started back in September. Maybe I'll make some brownies, since we've eaten all the cookies.

Maryenne, glad you are feeling better today. Those crying episodes, as you know, are a normal part of grieving, but they are difficult. Sending you an extra hug today.
Lynn and Esther, do you have New Year's Eve plans?
We slept late this morning. My neighbor's party yesterday was very nice. They're a lovely couple and moved here about 3 years ago from Pennsylvania.
It's bright and sunny out today. DH has a new camera and wants us to get out for a drive so he can practice using it. He's excited about it, and I am glad because he needs a new hobby.
As for celebrating tonight, we may be up for the New Year to hit the East Coast, but it's doubtful we'll make it to the Central time zone. Celebrating will consist of some light snacks and wine rather than champagne. I'll be all dressed up in my old paisley nightgown and socks. 🤣 Enjoy your ending to 2023!

Good morning! We are having take out Indian food tonight with a friend and playing Uno Attack. That’s our big celebration this year. It’s perfect for us. maryenne , enjoy your painting. One of my goals this year is to do some different creative projects. I have a closet of things I have started and for whatever reason didn’t finish. I have chosen one for January. It’s a panel I embroidered a few years ago. I am going to get it framed. Enjoy your ride today Joyce. What camera does DH have? I love taking pictures.
