Brrrr! Right now at my house it is 9 degrees. Mother Nature must have misread the map and doesn't realize this is the south! It started snowing yesterday afternoon, and it's still snowing hard. I have no idea how much snow we already have, but a lot. Looks pretty out the window, and that's how I plan to continue experiencing it. We have everything we need, so hibernation is the plan here.

Good morning,
Joyce, I went to elementary school in Millington, TN for four years and I remember a couple of big snows there.
We've learned that an old friend of ours is dying. He found out that he had lung cancer just a month or so ago. DH was in high school with him and his two brothers, then I became friends with him later. One of the brothers died about six months ago. The other one lives in Thailand. DH and another mutual friend have been trying to reach him the past few days and it appears that his phone is off. So anyway, DH is quite sad today and on edge.
The weather here is certainly not as cold as where you are, but we'll have a few days of hard freezes this week.

Good morning. We actually had some sun here yesterday afternoon! Today we’ll go out for a ride, Tonight we’re joining DN and his wife for dinner at the Red Crab. I love crab and it’s not something we have a lot of in New England, so I am excited to have something different. Joyce, I agree with how to enjoy the snow! For me, it’s with a good book and a hot cup of tea. maryenne , I am sorry to hear about DH’s friend. Sending good thoughts for him dealing with this. Waving to Esther. How did you get colder than New England? We are in the 20’s today.
DGS found out that the wood is swollen around our cellar door so it doesn’t close all the way. The cold air just rushes in. He blocked the door which will be a problem for the upstairs neighbor. He will have to come in through my apartment. But at least it isn’t bitter cold down there.

I’m sorry about your friend.
We had our multiple birthday celebration yesterday. It’s always nice to be with the children.
DGS has decided to get another dog so his pup will have a companion. He has given up the idea of her having a litter of puppies.
