What’s on your mind — how to make kugel? This week’s Torah reading? Life goals? Prayer? We are all engaged in weight loss/weight maintenance journeys and we are all Jewish or at least interested in Judaism. We like to eat, we like to discuss. It is our goal here to provide each other support on our journeys, to share experiences, to call on our rich cultural heritage and texts, and to help each other grow spiritually.
Some of us take weekly turns starting the thread:
Frieda (hopefully)?

And for those of you who stop by to read this thread without posting — you are welcome to, but you are also welcome to chime in. Don’t be shy!

Good morning everybody. Sorry to be late starting out, but we've been doing laundry and this and that. Hope everyone is well, warm and SAFE! Please pray for Israel.
Today's topic: What's something you have done for yourself that you are proud of?
For me, it's that I have actually lost just over 60 pounds from my highest weight a few years ago, with about 25 pounds of it from Ozempic. I am very, very happy about this. I can't remember if I mentioned this, but it looks like I will be able to get Wegovy when I run out of Ozempic this spring. My endocrinologist has been very helpful.
I do see a difference; my face looks thinner, and my pants are looser. Tomorrow I'm seeing my friend Carol for Scrabble. She's the one who said that my hands (!!) looked thinner; I wonder if she will say anything new tomorrow (!!). That's one benefit of seeing a friend only once a month or so, when weight loss is going well.
I really intend to keep this weight off, and God willing, get a lot more off too. Some years ago, I lost a lot of weight but put it all back on and then some, because I had family troubles and also was not able to put my needs first for a number of reasons. Things are better now (thank God), and hopefully I will continue to get healthier. My knees are thanking me, but I still have a long way to go.
How about you? This doesn't have to be about weight loss; please share whatever you want. I love reading good things about our group!!
Have a peaceful day, Lee

Wow, Lee, that's a bunch of good news!
This trip to Israel is something I did for myself and I feel I did good. It was a gppd decision for me. Still dragging a cold around and I learned today that the 4 women I was closest with all have covid. I tested again and am still negative.

Hi everyone, sorry I didn't get here earlier. DS33 is sick, and I still have a little of my own cold hanging on. We managed to get the grocery shopping done, plus we went to the drugstore to get some cold relief stuff for DS33, only to have him tell us later that he needs something specific that we don't have. Ugh! So I just ordered a bunch of stuff from Amazon Fresh so we can get what he needs tonight.
Lee, that is fantastic about your weight loss, and you have a great attitude too. Louise, I really admire you for doing the Israel trip. When my shul went last month, the rabbi also sent regular updates, and that made it personal and informative and very moving, like your updates.
This is small potatoes in comparison, but one thing I am proud of is that I learned to eat my vegetable, thanks to WW. Since I joined (about 15 years ago now), I can think of only a few times I did not get my vegetable/fruit minimum in, and usually I exceed the minimum. This has made a big difference in my outlook and my health, not to mention my weight.
Everyone stay warm and comfy if you can -- it's been rainy here all weekend, so I'm glad to stay inside now.
