Over 60 and still working/ Monday

Good morning!

I never got back here yesterday. I had a good afternoon, got a lot of errands done. Including getting DGS a gift card and birthday card. I can’t believe he is 19 already! 

I am up early- overthinking things as usual. It’s my super-power. We are having a lot of work done to the house this year- a picture window replaced, ceilings redone and floors refinished. Walls re-plastered. And then a kitchen re-do. New stove, fridge, replace counters and cabinets. I think the first thing is to replace the picture window, that will probably require some work done to the siding as well. And what kind of window do I want? And then there’s some electrical work- new lights in the bathroom, all closets, a new light fixture in the living room. 

Off to have a cup of coffee, then get ready to go drop off the stuff for the tax guy. Then probably out for breakfast with DH.

Lynn, you have a big renovation project scheduled for this year. That sounds like both a daunting and an exciting task. Lots of decisions to be made. I'm sure it will all be lovely when you finish.

Maryenne, glad you enjoyed the Ukranian concert. Has your DH made it back home yet? That was such a sad trip for him.

Esther, hope all is going well with you. I expect you are enjoying your retirement and the fact that you are not knee deep in taxes this time of year anymore.

It's a gorgeous day here and will get close to 80. Of course, they're saying storms tomorrow night with the temperatures cooling down again, but we'll enjoy this while we can. Today I am going to my first Red Hat Society meeting. I don't really know much about it other than several of my friends in the Womans Club belong, and they always sound like they have a lot of fun each month. Most likely I will join, which means I'll need to shop for a red hat--maybe a fascinator. Actually that part does not appeal to me. I wish they just wore a red blouse or something. I guess that wouldn't fit with the poem though. It will be good for me to be out and about socializing more with other women.

This afternoon DD is going to drop their taxes off for me, so I'll probably start working on those tomorrow afternoon. They should be fairly straight forward this year. They did sell a rental property, but at least they won't have another like kind exchange as they did last year.

Good morning!

DH got home about 1 am. He slept in of course. He has been filling me in on everything. He thinks his friend has another month or so, according to some things the doctor said. He actually cried some, I think because he wasn't able to do that down there.

I need to go to the post office and CVS, and he may want to go but probably not until later. Maybe we'll get supper out.

I am feeling a lot better after talking to the plasterer. He helped me put the projects into perspective. The window needs to be replaced before any other work can be done. Then there are things that can be done other than during the plastering projects. The kitchen will be the last room i think.

nashville11 , the Red Hat Society sounds like fun.

maryenne , you and DH have been having such an awful few months. Hugs to both of you.
