What’s on your mind — how to make kugel? This week’s Torah reading? Life goals? Prayer? We are all engaged in weight loss/weight maintenance journeys and we are all Jewish or at least interested in Judaism. We like to eat, we like to discuss. It is our goal here to provide each other support on our journeys, to share experiences, to call on our rich cultural heritage and texts, and to help each other grow spiritually.
Some of us take weekly turns starting the thread:
Frieda (hopefully)?

And for those of you that stop by to read this thread without posting — you are welcome to, but you are also welcome to chime in. Don’t be shy!

Good morning everybody. Hope you are all well and SAFE! Please pray for Israel.
Today's topic: Spring foods.
When I think of Spring foods, I think of asparagus and lamb. I like both of them a lot. We have been roasting the asparagus, with olive oil and spices. We eat lamb in a variety of ways, but I think my favorite is lamb curry (not too spicy). Of course, it depends on the price of the lamb for how often we get to eat it, as here in NOVA, it tends to be expensive! We all like it so much that we make a splurge of it when it is on sale, and enjoy it very much.
It's nice to see foods come into season and be available in the supermarket. I am looking forward to strawberry season; I think it'll be early this year. Of course, thanks to modern transportation, they are available year-round, but local ones taste so much better.
And of course there are always Spring rolls! Yum, yum, yum.
Have a peaceful day, Lee

Oh my - I haven't had a lamb chop since I can't remember when. That would be delicious. I always look forward to the fresh local berries and tomatoes too.

I love berries, which are plentiful this time of year. Here is a VERY low calorie/point idea: Top a small meringue (which is basically egg whites and sugar) with non fat dairy topping and lots of berries. It’s heaven.

I'm not a big fan of lamb, but DH and the kids are, so we get lamb chops occasionally, and DH grills them with lots of garlic and onions.
When I think of spring food, it's usually vegetables that come to mind, but I'm not a big veggie-lover, so I'm useless on this one!
Ugh, PowerPoint just crashed, and I lost my entire presentation I've been working on. Now I have to start from scratch. Well, at least I have a few hours to get it done, so it could be worse. I'll BBL!
