Good morning and happy Friday! So nice coming back to a 2 day work week. We got back on Tuesday and then I took off on Wednesday, and yesterday was tied up in in-person depositions for a lot of the day. But now it's Friday, woo hoo! Very happy for that too as I seem to be more jetlagged on the return than usual.
We had an AMAZING trip- we both loved Japan even more than we expected and already are trying to figure out how soon we can justify going back! It's tough with so many other places we'd like to visit but it really was fantastic. We loved Tokyo the most and would definitely spend more time there- we spent 5 days there but it's such a huge city with so many amazing neighborhoods that it felt like we could have spent another week exploring. Kyoto was beautiful and glad we went, but it was a lot more packed with tourists. Tokyo has a lot of tourists too but it's big enough that it didn't feel like it so much. And Osaka was probably some of the best food and drinks we've had anywhere. Just a great trip all around, and we found the trains and getting around much easier to navigate than expected. Also less of a language barrier than we thought there might be. We also lucked out on weather- a couple of rainy days (figures the rain usually aligned with days we were hiking!) but mostly really nice and warm. It made me so excited to plan more trips!
I'm in the office today but leaving around 12:45 to take my car in for a 90-day checkup. Normally I don't think I'd really need that but the dealership offered it and my car locks have been kind of funky, sometimes trying to continually auto-lock while I'm driving, so I'll see what they say. No plans this weekend as of now, would be happy to keep it pretty low-key! I've been exhausted but also still waking up at 4:30 so looking forward to hopefully sleeping a lot!
A: kickboxing
B: grits with turkey sausage crumbles and cheese
S: apple with peanut butter
L: leftover slow cooker butter beans with pancetta and pecorino
S: pineapple
D: TBD.. not really feeling more takeout since we ate out so much on the trip, but I did cook the last 2 night so we'll see
Hope everyone has a great weekend!
