Newcomers are always welcome - just jump in and post. Some people are regulars and visit daily, some pop in now and then, some stay to chat, some just listen. All are welcome. Post a personal message if you can. If you can't, that's okay too. You will find lots of support and encouragement here, and hopefully you will enjoy this thread as much as the rest of us.

Good morning, everyone.
It's a warm day here again - will be similar to yesterday hitting the low 90's. Just at the upper limit of what's barrable without AC. Thankfully we have 5 ceiling fans throughout the house and they do help, and all are running!
We had a good day yesterday. No cooking again - leftover pizza for lunch and dinner warmed up in the BBQ. I also made a watermelon salad that we had a a side for dinner too - which was really tasty. a Lime dressing, mint & feta, cucumber and red onion too. Nice & cool - it will make a good lunch today! I did a search for a watermelon salad and found this recipe, just happened to have all the ingredients in my pantry! It was met to be!
I hope you all have a good visit today - I'm so glad you're getting together with Barb being in the area. Nice of you to all travel to meet up! But that's what we do!
I see Greg has our gate open - hope that means the AC is due to get here soon! He hadn't received a contract as of yesterday afternoon - but did by the evening. Woo! - for a short time we felt like the guy was ghosting us - but it was the weekend - he too should have some time off. And I bet he had other calls over the weekend. I still have fingers crossed he shows up. The good news is that even if he comes later in the week - today is the last day with a forecast in the 90 - it will start to cool off tomorrow, leading to high 70's by the weekend.
I'm going to run - have a good day everyone.
Sue

Good morning cafe friends
Remember me? I was discharged from Moffitt yesterday morning after FINALLY all my numbers were good enough for release. After 12 long days I got to go home. I’ll tell you, all Saturday night I prayed for my white count to go down. At 4 am, they took my blood and at 4:20 my nurse came back to tell me the good news. I was released around noon. Allie and DH couldn’t be happier. Did I tell you Allie is here and has been since Thursday. She has been wonderful about taking care of me. After a bit of a crazy night, needs for potty with instructions not to do it on my own, I woke feeling good. So good that I had Allie get me dressed and we walked outside in the cul-de-sac.
So what’s next? Weds I start treatment to target the cancer. I already have the drugs. Where everything up until now was for the surgery what is next is the actual cancer treatment. I keep losing this. I know your prayers are reaching me. Be back after treatment begins. Love all of you. Lauren

Good afternoon,
We are completely socked in with fog and drizzle, it's dank out there. I had a Spanish lesson at eleven, but managed to get out to the driving range ahead of it for a bit of practice. I didn't get out on my bike yesterday, so will hopefully do it this afternoon if it gets a bit drier. Yesterday the sun did pop out in the afternoon, that was nice. Except I was so sleepy yesterday, I must not have slept all that well I guess. We went to church yesterday, then met up with some friends who live in San Diego and were on their way north of us, but stopped to have lunch with us. It was nice to see them and spend a bit of time together. I finally got enough energy to hit some faux balls in the backyard, and spent some time pulling weeds. I'm feeling better today, more energy.
On Saturday I did manage to clean the bathroom. While I was doing it Steve came in and said the workers were whacking the grass on the neighbor's property, after my impressive conversation with them in Spanish about where the property lines are. I called the neighbor to let them know, but it turns out they hired the guys to do their yard, too. I'm not sure if that was arranged ahead of time, or they just took advantage of them already being here, but at least my Spanish wasn't to blame. I need to work more in the yard, which I will do today if it's too damp for biking. It's not really weeds so much as the native bushes having babies coming up all around them. The specific type of bush - Toyons - get extremely big so we don't need a bunch of them growing together. I still need to dust and vacuum the back of the house, but am not in a rush to get it done.
Steve cooked a rack of lamb on Saturday, and last night I mashed a potato and sautéed some veggies to go along with the leftovers. Tonight he has a chicken to grill, so I'm off the hook for cooking at least. My breakfast dishes are still in the sink which got left because I had to rush to get to the driving range. I'll take care of them - not a fan of having dirty dishes sitting around - and then reevaluate my exercise plans. I should go pick up some more veggies today. The daily life stuff.
Hope you all are having a good day. Enjoy the mini reunion with Janet, Barb, Karen, and Peggy! Looking forward to seeing some photos! Talk to you soon.
